I still get confused that National is housed with Alamo when I need to go inside, in this case to pick up a car seat. There's really no issue, but it seems like a lot of unnecessary branding, if they are really the same place? Streamline and cut the marketing budget! I was also disappointed with the car seat. It was fine. It fit, but based on the other car seats I've been acquainted with recently, I am not confident in its accident rating. Also, for such a basic seat, they couldn't put it in the car for me because that could have made them liable. I get it. That's the policy, but it's weird. I suppose these are more complaints about National as a company than this location, though. The service at the rental office and checking out at the gate is fine. It seems to take longer than it does at other places, but since I get there faster, I suppose it's a wash.

They promptly gave me my car, although I will say they didn't accept the insurance I bought online so please have your own personal insurance card and maybe opt out from buying the insurance with priceline. I rent at least one car a month, all over the country, and this is the first time i've tried Executive, and their service, all around, is garbage. I flew in, with a prebooked car, for a Nissan Altima or similar.. that is a full size car! I needed a full size car because i am 6'4.5 tall, was going to be transporting a mother who just had knee replacment surgery, and is due to have the second replaced shortly, and a 90 year old grandfather.. so, i needed the space for them to get in and out. When i arrived at 1:30a off my flight, and went to get my car i was told that Executive was out of full size cars, so i could either PAY EXTRA for an SUV, or accept a down grade car for the same price... this is outrageous. I've never had ANY rental company downgrade or tell a customer i can upgrade you for a fee when it is their fault!!! Like i said, it was 1:30a, and i had a 3 hour drive ahead of me, and their agent in house refused to budge on it.. i found later this is typical of this business. They dont't respect their customers AT ALL. Secondly, i was not happy to find out as i was driving 3 hours in a rain and snow storm, getting mud tossed on the car from passing semis to find out that the windsheild wiper fluid was bone dry... not a drop. Who checks over your cars before you rent them?!?!?! I almost crashed trying to see through the windsheild at one point after passing a semi. I had to pull over and use one of my shirts to wipe off the windsheild. Third, ive never encountered an instance where the car rental company says "because of the snow, just take the car, and if you notice any damage, just take a picture and show us later.. that seems like you are opening yourself up for a lot of dishonesty...  Now, unfortunately, most of my trip i had to borrow a family members car to transport my mother and grandfather because a VW Jetta just wasnt going to cut it for their comfort...  When i called to complain, they said you have to do it in writing, as well as to extend a car because of unfortunate circumstances. I did email, and finally received a call back 3.5 hours later.. really on the ball, arent you EMELIA?! When a rep called back, named EMELIA, her only offer was to discount me and upgrade me NEXT TIME! HELLO!?! Why would i want to giVe you money again when you royally f'd up this time? So.... the solution was give us more money, and we will make it right with your next $350 rental for one week.. This company, and it's idiotic operations and reps are just a headache nobody should have to deal with when they are just renting a car. Something that should be hassle-free I really am dissappointed with all of this, and since i am a daily vlogger i had the good sense to vlog and film everything. Showing my original booking, and what i ended up with.. i understand at the holidays they might be busy, but that should be the time you really are concerned with your customer experience. Especially when there was a fleet of suv's you could have given me, when my bill for one week was already $50 more than any other rental week ive had from Detroit to California. Stay far away from this place.. they simply have no respect for their customers, and refused to even lower my rate to the actual car i got, and not what i booked. I now have to file a grievance with the Better Business Bureau, as well as informing as many people as possible through social media, so that others don't make the mistake of giving these shysters your business.

    I rented through Budget. Budget and Avis are partners. I took the shuttle over and I had received a…read moretext message that said go to Zone 1 in the lot and take whatever car you want. Well- I clicked the link and took a picture of the car I was going to take, and it didn't work. So I checked to make sure I was in zone 1- I was - and I went back and took a pic of the next car and it did not work. The third time was a charm- I was able to book the dodge durango. I went to put my luggage in the back and was surprised to see a full size tire in the luggage area and an old plastic soda cup from a gas station? So I went to the middle seat to put my luggage and I saw more trash. Then I opened the driver side and saw trash in the door, on the floor and a ketchup packet next to the keys. Wow. This car is dirty. I only needed the car for 6 hours so I decided dirty was fine. I got in the driver seat and saw a paper on the dash - an accident report. Wow. So I decided I did not want this car after all because the report said the car was on a spare tire! Sure enough- it was on a spare. That explained the full size tire in the back. So I schlepped all my stuff inside to the office and waited in line. The attendant was friendly enough and fixed my issue and apologized. She sent me from the budget side to the Avis side for my next car. Well I dragged all my luggage out to the spot and there was no car!!!! So I went back to the office to let her know that there is no car in the slot they rented to me. Of course she had to call on the radio to confirm- as if I don't know how to find a car ?!?! So now she gives me another car. It's NOT and suv which is asked for. She said it's a Mazda 3. So I said - is that an SUV? And her response was yes sort of a mix of a car and suv. No. Absolutely not. It's a CAR. It's not an suv. I had already wasted so much time at that stupid lot that I just took the car. I wanted an all wheel drive because I had an hour drive ahead of me and it was 14 degrees with ice and snow on the roads. Luckily the car was clean. But it was a car and not an all wheel drive vehicle, as I requested. What a freakin debacle at this rental company.

I took the time this morning to create an account with Budget and sign up for Fast Break so I could go straight to my car. After taking the shuttle to the car lot I wandered around in freezing rain and couldn't find where to go. I went back to the counter area and found someone that would listen to me that told me that Fast Break was "unavailable" today and I'd have to get in line. A line a lot longer than when I arrived but zero communication from Budget ... Yeah. Fun. 2 counter attendants and like 20 people in line. No way I get to my destination on time. They have QR codes posted everywhere to scan to shorten time then don't bother to keep up their end of the bargain yet if you complain, it's not fixed and no one cares so what is happening in America these days? Bad service, long lines, rude people... Goodness! I tried and still lost :( Budget was really really bad today on my first (and last) experience with them Also, the shuttle from DTW? Driver didn't even try standing up to help people with luggage even when a passenger struggled to get a heavy bag up the steep steps. Just sat there staring. And still had a Tip Jar 2 feet away. Yikes!

It was nice seeing my name on the screen when the shuttle got us there. The only issue is that service is only provided during certain hours of the day, and when your plane arrives at 11pm, you have to go inside, and wait in the extremely long line where they are understaffed. One of the staffers did say for me to just go pick out the car and gave me an upgrade for the inconvenience which was nice. I would rent from them again. 2025-11 #562
