There needed to be an investigation of the accident and the other party involved were taking their time. It took almost 2 weeks and I was now with out a car to continue to work. I did a Google search and called the usual rentals. Since I was paying out of pocket, I was being quoted upwards of $500. I found it to be outrageous. I never heard of Suncoast before and called them. I received a text in no time telling me the rates and deposits from Bruce. Within a day they put me in a rental that was affordable and perfect to get to and from work. I really appreciated the texting. Bruce was knowledgeable and understanding of my needs. Besides the quick texting, they delivered and picked up the car!! In my opinion Suncoast Car Rental was perfect, professional, excellent communication and affordable. I would make this my first call before I ever call any of the others. I was all to happy to review them and tell other future customers my excellent experience I had with them. Not a huge deal, but when my wife began discussing our need for better than 5 seat capacity, the guy got annoyed and condescending with her. My wife is a highly experienced traveler as well as a seasoned conference planning manager. Trust me on this.. that guy was needlessly a jerk and out of his league to boot. Ironically we had the same outcome as previous reviewer here: went down the road to Enterprise whose manager Melissa was a consummate professional and ensured our experience was 100% good from start to finish. Hertz, I used to like you. What gives; don't you do customer service training any more? Or spot checks?

This location doesn't have a drop box and the dealership closes off it's lot at night with a gate. I booked a mid size car for six days (Wed-Tues) via AAA's website for $120 with tax. Hertz gave me a higher rate when selecting AAA rates through their website. When I arrived to pick up my car, the clerk asked if I wanted to upgrade to a premium car for an additional cost. He tried to get me to sign up for protection coverage and tried to put me in the least fuel efficient vehicle in the mid size class. I added another AAA driver for free and selected Hertz add gas when I returned for $28 w/ 10% off the current gas price. I asked for a Chevy Cruze which the employee acted like he wasn't sure if he had one or not but he found the keys for a white 2020 model. The car drove great and was excellent on gas with 31/48 MPG. The Cruze had untinted windows with remote start and Android Auto for GPS. I booked the car until 7:30 A.M. the following morning after I returned from my trip. I thought I could drop the car off over night but with this Hertz being inside Ford I couldn't. They have a gate blocking access to the dealership after 8 P.M. and Hertz closes at 5 PM Ford won't accept Hertz's rental car keys but allowed me to park the Cruze outside before they closed. Hertz doesn't have a lock box at this location so I brought the keys back the following morning. (I couldn't find someone to follow me to Hertz in the morning so this was my only option). When I tried to reach Hertz by phone with questions about returning the Cruze they didn't answer because they're phones were down. I had to leave a message with Ford for them to return my call. Hertz told me to return the car with little gas since I requested they fuel the cruze. $28 to fuel the Cruze equates to no fuel in the car at all. When the gas light goes off at 50 miles to E I was able to fill up for $24 at $2.49 a gallon. I returned the Cruze with 37 miles to E and the employee said the car was running on fumes. Overall, the car was great but our experience with Hertz wasn't. However, the price I paid was far below anyother rentals in the area.
