The next day we got back to our room at 4:00p and it had not been made up with clean cups etc. They don't answer the telephone so I went to the front desk and I was told that after check in they don't clean your room!!!! Parking is off-site as well. There are plenty of other nice locations to stay in Peterborough so don't be disappointed and try to stay at this disgusting excuse for a Hotel.

I made several attempts to contact the reservation person via voicemail but I never heard back. In…read morethe end, I just booked the hotel online. Thankfully, the person at the front desk was able to apply the group discount for my group. On the day of check-in, I was not allowed to check in early. On a separate occasion, I asked to use their bathroom but was told that there was no bathroom on the main floor that I could use. Front desk was pretty efficient and got me my room keys very quickly. The lobby was quite plush but because it had snowed, it seemed difficult for them to keep the lobby clean and dry. The elevator is slow and the stairs are a bit confusing. The furniture as you come off the elevator is a little sparse and seems out of place, as we had a writing desk and chair when a couch may have suited us better. The corridor seems a little warn. The walls were cement blocks that were painted over in a dull yellow. Our room looked like it hadn't been renovated in forever but it did have a fireplace, which we couldn't get working. There were no instructions either. The beds were not comfortable. There is no view. The outlets didn't want to hold your plugs but for one night, we would manage. We did have a problem with our toilet because it couldn't stop filling the tank. When we called, we were advised that there was no maintenance person onsite on the weekends. So, we got moved to another room. We heard from others that one room leaked into the room below causing a flood. The second room was a lot nicer, it had a king sized bed and a pull out couch. No improvement in comfort though. Television had limited amount of stations, nothing really for children. Still no view. Wing chairs had seat covers on them. The room also had a mini-fridge and a microwave and a 2 person whirlpool, which we didn't use. The bathroom was definitely bigger and much nicer. This room would probably be suited for a romantic weekend for two. The breakfast room only had 3 tables, which wasn't a lot, so, I am not sure how they manage seating there. There is also a washroom on the main floor but it has a mop and a bucket in it. The business centre looked like a nice table with a computer on it. The breakfast was very continental, with toast, oatmeal, etc. So, don't expect a lot but it's enough to get you started. For the most part, I felt that this hotel is run down but the owners were trying very hard to be hoteliers.

The park is quiet with no tolerance for loud noise. The park has a great marsh and you can actually hear and see the wild life. My children enjoy hand feeding and viewing the wild life (also best fishing around). The beach is very well maintained and is a very popular spot to swim and meet people from the surrounding community's. The camp staff also put on a fireworks show every year that puts the city of Peterboroughs to shame!!! The prices are very competitive and worth every penny. As a final note the campers are very friendly and always willing to lend a hand. Rob Hagerman

They included pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, dish soap. No air conditioning but they have oscillating fans - luckily our stay wasn't too hot. We found this place on Airbnb but decided to check their website for a better price without as many fees, tuee helped me process the deposit and reserve our cottage a month in advance We bought firewood from their store (only $11), and from a stand nearby, corn and ice cream. We were also able to roast marshmallows and potatoes in a foil, in the fire pit. Loved being able to swim in their pool (was cold though as it's not heated) and the lake, being able to kayak (single or double persons, and try stand up paddle boarding. They said they have eggs and butter but throughout our stay, they didn't have either. People also bring stuff to fish - we didn't try fishing Bring $200 for deposit in cash for easiest return. They have an arts/kids room with dollar tree items (like the standing unicorn), but it's nice to provide an indoor space for kids to play in. They say it's only available to play if you purchase crafts from them. You have to bring your own bedding and towels, or can rent - 4 sets cost $60. We have to throw our own trash and keep the place clean for next guests The cuttings of grass was quite annoying because after we walked to our cottage, all the grass stuck to our feet and legs and into the cottage. They cut grass every day we were there. The broom didn't have a dustpan to get rid of all the cuttings inside the cottage They also have a small discount for return visitors.

Pinecrest cottages was originally a summer retreat and has been around for about 150 years ! at some point about 20 cottages were built. Currant owners Diego & Lynn have owned the property for about 6 years and have done extensive renovations to the buildings and water front area.We brought along our own boat and there was ample space at the dock, pinecrest also has plenty of rental boats of all sizes and free canoes and kayaks .The cottages were clean and comfortable with great vistas and sun sets. The fishing is great either by boat or just off the dock. The cost turned out to be less than we thought ! We enjoyed the night time fires and found the other guests to be friendly, some traveled quite a distance from areas in the U.S and one we spoke to have been visiting for over 25 years ! we had a great week and have pre booked for next year.
