He gave us a payment based on 36 months $847 with that included. That made our payment $135 a month higher than just the $24,000. I said we will pay it off in 24 months that meant we would pay $3,120 (135 X 24) for the service contract. That's the impression I was under but that's not the case. We still have to pay the full $4400 even if we pay it off in 24 months. We gave a great review a few days ago but after figuring this out the finance guy pulled a fast one on us. My company had reserved a compact car, and I was first offered a Kia Soul. I hate that case - it's like driving a cardboard box, and I said as much to the Avis rep. She laughed and agreed, then checked their inventory and offered me a Ford Fusion Hybrid. Fantastic! I signed the paperwork, too the keys and walked out to the lot to find the car. When I found it, the rear was dirty, like the car wash had totally missed it, but I want to concerned about that. I loaded luggage into the trunk and then went to get into the car. I opened the door and was hit with a wave stale cigarette smoke mixed with bad sure freshener - like someone had been smoking in the car and sprayed perfume to cover it up. Yuck! I retrieved my luggage from the trunk and went back into the airport - no way I could drive that car for the week. The nice man who was now at the Avis counter was named Kurt. He was very apologetic about the condition of the car, said he would personally check it out and charge the prior renter a proper cleaning fee to get the car back to condition, stating that was an unacceptable condition for the case to be in. He offered me a Prius as an alternate, and even offered to have it brought up to the terminal door for me. Despite the poor condition of the Fusion, both reps worked to get me into a car that was suitable for me, and I appreciate their willingness to do so. Overall, a minor frustration that was handled well be reps who seemed to actually care about my experience.

I've rented from Avis in the past and never experienced anything like this before. I knew exactly what I needed to rent. I asked to speak to the manager (I believe her name was Jessica or Jasmine) and I specifically asked what I need and she stated my flight itinerary, which I had. However, Erin intervened and refuse to rent to me. I waited for almost two hours and saw that I was treated vastly different from the white customers, she didn't make them jump through hoops or ask a million questions. My uncle is a mechanic so I knew that price wasn't right. I called another shop and was quoted $465 for the exact same job. I called Hohimer back to let them know I would be picking up my car. Mike was extremely rude to me and tried to tell me he couldn't even get the parts for the $465 I was quoted elsewhere. Obviously it was a scare tactic. When I went to pick up my car I was charged $80 in labor because they had already started work on it without me agreeing. I was able to get new brake pads, a new wheel baring, AND new rotors for $500 at a shop 1 block away. I wanted to post this so no woman tries to go here and fall for their "lady tax".
