This is an unusual review: 1. I did not have a good night's sleep at the hotel due to a hoarde of unruly parents and children. In fact, I slept no more than 3 hours - on a night when I needed to rest up for a 12 hour day of travel the next day. 2. I did not get to enjoy breakfast or the pool or the other amenities of the hotel or even get to enjoy a quiet evening in my room due, in large measure, to the unmanageable folks running - LITERALLY RUNNING - into walls and doors, into people, into . . . Running into walls, jumping off beds onto floors, banging on the doors of random guests . . . Sigh. You get the idea. It wasn't a night I'd want to repeat. That said, we all have times where we come up short. In this case, I don't think anyone could've prevented what happened at that hotel. The front desk clerk, at the time, did the best she could. She really did. I give her an A+ for effort. The guests were just so entitled and rude - they cared not what turmoil their children brought upon the hotel or others. What sealed the deal for me is the fact that Alexis, the GM, called me after my stay to discuss, in detail, what happened. I found Alexis to be beyond professional, understanding, compassionate, and open to ideas and suggestions. She also took care of my room and added extra points for my inconvenience. Not too bad with reasonable beds and the usual included bfast with cereal, oatmeal, sausage/eggs and waffles - Nice hours 6-10am. Lobby clean and staff accommodating. Rooms small but manageable and across the River from the downtownish area. Prices a bit high because of the event in town but I guess that's to be expected. read more

So, contrary to the other review, we had a great 3-night stay here. (BTW, the idea of getting 'attacked' by bedbugs is hilarious... like they're swarming instead of just sneakily biting throughout the night.) Anyway, I digress. Having never had a major issue at a Marriott, of course on our recent trip to Peoria I booked a stay at this newish hotel. The best part is that it was on the cheap, located in East Peoria (but still a reasonable drive to good eats/drinks). Staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was a pretty typical continental (adequate but not glamorous), the pool and exercise facilities were updated, and they have pretty good security. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, towels were fresh. Not much more you can ask for, so we'll definitely be staying again. read more

We had a one night stay here over the summer, with a friendly check in experience. As far as the room, we didn't get any extra pillows. We didn't ask for them verbally, but extra pillows are a preference listed in my Marriott account. I also couldn't get the shower water hot enough. I briefly heard someone walking around overhead during the night. Other than that, things were fine. The breakfast selection was good with scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage links, bread and pastries, fruit, cereals, yogurts, juices and waffles. While the location is close to Target, Kohl's and restaurants, the hotel is in a bit of an industrial area that isn't terribly friendly to any mode of access other than motor vehicles. read more

Good hotel, rooms are nice, great breakfast in the morning, nice staff. Pool is small so once it crowded its not so nice. If you are by yourself its great. In the middle of a business park so prepare to drive but location is right off of highway to get everywhere so very convenient! We will be back! read more

I've stayed here many times. Modern and clean - great location. Comfortable beds. Sadly, I was checked in by an ignorant homophobe during my most recent stay. (Nov 3, 2012 @ 10pm) She made my partner and I feel uncomfortable and unwelcome as she asked if I was "sure" I wanted a king room. When I said yes, I was sure, she looked at me and my partner and said "Uhh, okay...?" It was an awkward and unnecessary exchange that pretty much ruined our trip. Do hotels provide any kind of training on diversity and inclusion? If you work at the front desk of a hotel, you're going to see gays, hookers, married people, single people, vacationing families, folks having affairs, business people... do your job with tact and professionalism without judging and looking down on your guests who are paying over a hundred bucks for one of your rooms. If I stay here again, (and it's a big "if") I will leave my boyfriend in the car while I check in, and we'll sneak in a side door like the horrible scum of the earth that apparently we are. As someone who travels a lot, and therefore stays in a lot of different hotels, (I prefer Marriott chains), this has been the absolute *worst* hotel I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. I stayed in room 321 on November 26th checking out November 27th, 2018, (currently writing this just after 1AM November 27th). First of all, the room was dirty. The person was who was tasked with cleaning this room failed at their job. Dried urine on the toilet, water spots on the faucet, a previous occupants dirty sock in next to the window....honestly I should have checked the sheets for filth before we went to sleep as I wouldn't be surprised if he/she cut corners and didn't change the sheets either. The, "blackout," curtains fail to block out the flood lights outside the building, it's like someone left a computer monitor on - literally my picture doesn't do it justice - it is *that* much light. Then the heater is loud! And the room is so ridiculously hot that my kid is sleeping half naked with wet wash rags on her! It's 21 degrees out, I don't need it to be 80 degrees while I'm attempting to sleep. Then the beds - they are awful. They are soft and when you sit on them you will easily sink down and practically fall off. This happened with everyone in my family, regardless of size. Sleeping on the edge with a hot, restless child, and you're seconds away from being on the floor. Then I called the front desk from my cell phone while in the bathroom and he kept interrupting saying he couldn't hear me and to call from the room phone. Really? I was talking in a normal tone/loud voice and he wants me to call from the phone in the room where my family is *finally* asleep? And then what? Whisper? How on earth will he hear me over the ridiculously loud intermittent noise coming from the heater where we are being roasted??? Thank God it is only one night...1:35AM and if I were alone, I'd pack up and leave. I feel sorry for anyone who would be subjected to this environment for longer than that. I do not recommend. UPDATE: the temperature was set to 66 degrees. The heater sounded like an old Model T Ford puttering through the room for 90 seconds every four minutes or so. My other child said the heater kept waking her up too. I also wanted to mention that the pillows were hard and lumpy. SECOND UPDATE: Alexis responded on TripAdvisor and said the curtains close completely, making the room totally dark. There is no way to make that happen. I tried to get them to close and block out the light from their outside lights beaming into the room for around ten minutes. I pulled them together, pulled the left over the right, the right over the left, tried folding the seams together, tried putting something that would hold them together. Nothing worked. No mention about the loud puttering noise of the heater. I wish one of these sites would allow a video. You can hear for yourself how loud the heater was for around 90 seconds every time it went on. read more

We have been on the road for six weeks and have stayed mostly in Marriott motels/hotels. We have traveled over 9000 miles by van. This property was our least favorite. The bedspread and one of the sheets had stains. The hotel staff did not make up our rooms according to my profile - feather-free rooms due to feather allergy. I did call ahead and the host said he would try to make sure there were no feather pillows in the room, if he had time to do so. He was the only staff member on the property, he said. When we arrived there were no feather pillows in the rooms but the pillows which had been removed had not been replaced by non-feather pillows. This property was not up to normal Marriott standards. read more

I was battling between the Fairfield and Courtyard but this was definitely a iOS choice. The hotel is very new and clean, the front desk staff is super friendly. I had the king room and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast is typical continental breakfast you'd see at any hotel with eggs, cereal, oatmeal, bagel, etc., quite good selection. The location is a bit far from downtown but it's a reasonable drive (approx. 3 miles). There are also a few restaurant just outside. The only thing is this hotel is next to a highway so try ask for a room NOT facing the highway as it can be quite noisy. read more

Recently (12/14/18-12/15/18), I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend for a family member's college graduation. We booked our stay through a different website but with this Fairfield Inn. Forget the rest of these reviews. We are the furthest thing from boujee but we also appreciate and recognize greatness. And I will gladly say my one night here was flawless. I will start off by saying my only disappointment was that I thought breakfast was average but my girlfriend thought it was good. Besides that, the rooms are clean and very accommodating with a very eco-friendly energy system in place that I appreciate. No need to waste when we are not in the room! In regards to the service, Will checked us in and for working a 16 hour shift, the man was on his game! Not only did he handle our reservation efficiently, he made us feel very comfortable and his personal skills are top notch. I couldn't be happier. I did not meet with anyone else but if that is the standard of quality at this location then they are doing a very great job. Overall, I had a perfect stay and would HIGHLY recommend this location to anyone in the area! Also, Will is that dude!! read more

The worse hotel I have staid at. I work for the Marriott and I know am getting the employee discount but that does not mean I should of being treaded like that, I know that when I have employees come to my hotel I do my better to make them happy I know how hard it is to work for Marriott International. Worst experience! The hotel is located right next to if not under I-74, near warehouses, in a cul de sac, where if you decide tot! Furniture looks cheap and flimsy which may be expected at a motel 8 but at a branch of Marriott?! Front desk was AWEFUL with a RUDE worker-who told us we should go to the hotel next door after not wanting to honor what was confirmed in our email FROM Marriott booking ... She needs customer service 101. Thank goodness for her manager Amy Ehnle who helped us with our reservation (thank you) cause we really should have booked elsewhere. Going into the rooms, same cheap everything (travel toiletries, tile, counter, wallpaper, mismatched decor ...EVERYTHING). In order to turn on the power for the room you have to use your key... Yes it's one of those kinds of hotels. To top it all off we had yellow stains on our white sheets... And since we had booked 3 rooms for our family 2/3 rooms had stained bed sheets ... One bed with pubic hair ... Please! See the pictures! I'm so disappointed! Too bad Marriott's name has to be associated with this facility and that one worker! I should have just asked for a refund and went to the holiday inn a few blocks away but we got out late from our conference and didn't get back to the hotel until midnight to find our bed situations ... A co-worker of mine was attacked by bedbugs here yesterday. I've stayed at the hotel many times before without issue, but knowing that there is a bed bug problem is enough for me to stay away. Stayed here one night on a Friday because my sister was competing for state the next morning nearby. Most of the families of the competitors also stayed in the hotel. One school overbooked and we would have been out of luck if they hadn't offered up one of their rooms to us. Very clean, colorful and modern hotel. Good price, too. Our room (two queens) was $105 before taxes. There is a fireplace in the lobby in front of a separate dining room area where they service free continental breakfast (7-10a on weekends.) We went to get breakfast around 9:15-9:30 and everything was still available except the sausage patties ran out, but they brought out more in about 5-10 minutes. Continental breakfast included bagels with creamcheese, muffins, small boxes of cereal (about five different kinds), OJ, cranberry juice, milk, coffee, Chobani yogurt, Dannon yogurt, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, make-your-own waffles, and toast with jelly. Shampoo & conditioner was Pantene brand. Free coffee available at all times in the main lobby. What I liked the most is that they are environmental friendly or "green." When you enter your room with your key card, you have to then insert your key card into another slot inside your room next to the light switch. This allows electricity to run in your room. When you remove the card, at some point, the electricity turns off, thus saving it. It might take several minutes before all the lights turn off because they didn't turn off right away after removing the card. I think this also affects the heat/AC because I turned the heat on when we first entered our room, but when we returned from going out, the AC was on and the temperature was lowered. It may have been my sister who made the change; I forgot to ask her. She arrived back at our room before the rest of us did. Either way, I like the idea for those people who forget to turn off lights or prefer to leave them on and waste electricity. Of course, if you absolutely must leave the lights on for whatever reason, you get two key cards, so you can leave one in the slot and take the other with you to let yourself back into the room. Bed was just as comfortable as any other hotel bed I've been in. Sheets were bright white & clean. No odors; if any, it was pleasant. We were able to park in the back of the building near our window and enter through the back with our key card, which is nice because a lot of hotels require you to walk all the way around to the front to enter. The town's water is pretty hard & tastes terrible, but they have clean, drinkable water both at the front desk (with lemons & ice) and a distilled water dispenser in the fitness center, which is adjacent to the pool & jacuzzi. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. I would stay here again if we needed to stay in Peoria. read more

my visit to this hotel was in May 2014. My stay there was with a group of school kids for a track and field meet. The hotel was very accommodating and the needs that I had and getting me the young the materials I had to have a rollaway bed. I have stayed there previously with a group of kids and also without and the accommodations were great location was perfect for where I needed to be and the staff was very helpful. The only reason I have not given this 5 stars is that there was an error in billing and crediting my account on due to this stay. The group sales manager Mary Anne was very helpful in getting me set up for this stay. the only reason I gave the four stars is that there is an error in billing and crediting my account. Just want to put it out there that this hotel overcharged our business for one nights stay when one of our guys stayed here earlier this year. When I contacted the manager Amy Ehnle, had proof of receipt as to the time & day he checked out, sent that receipt in, I was only brushed off each time I tried again t make contact & no refund was given. We were overcharged $133.28. Not a great way to do business. They're fully well aware they're in the wrong. We do business in this area & will make sure we stay somewhere else from now on. read more
