Nobody believes 1 star reviews, so I did 2. I rented a car about a month ago not knowing exactly how long I would need it. It was suggested to me by the customer service representative from enterprise on the phone that I hold it for a week, with the option to extend. If I needed for less time, then they would only charge for the days I used. Like putting a hold on your credit card at a hotel. Only they charged me for the whole week when I only used it for 3 1/2 days. Apparently, the laws of physics regarding time and space cease to exist in enterprise rent a car, and the week is actually five days. Or it can be. When it suits them. And 3 1/2 days is actually four days, since they don't charge for half a day. Only whole days. and since four is close enough to five for hand grenades, I was charged for the whole week. I was ghosted and ignored from this point on over the phone and had to charge back on my credit card. When I picked this car up, the key was literally put into my hand directly from the previous driver, and we were both charged for that full day. I'm sure whoever picked it up out of my hand when I dropped it off was charged for that full day same as I was. And this is enterprise in general, not specific to this location, but this location is the one that kept hanging up on me and where I picked up the car in the first place and the ones who charged me incorrectly. Working alone, he was able to serve customers, help prepare cars, answer calls and still complete transactions in a reasonable amount of time. Enterprise car rentals in Opelousas, Louisiana. I would not even rate it a one star except the vehicle itself was great. My sister reserved a standard suv for me online. When I was picked up in a Yukon, I thought it was only for pick up. After returning to my home several times to get documents the rep said I needed, (he was not well trained because he couldn't remember everything the first time) I was then told that I could not use a debit card even though the website lists it as a means of payment/ hold. My brother had to then become the renter and driver since he had a credit card. I could not be listed as second driver because I didn't have a credit card only a debit card. The rep showed me how to work the car and asked if I liked it. I said it was a nice car. I was surprised that this was considered standard. He never told me anything different. He said it was what was ordered online. Imagine my surprise when the price went from $184 plus waiver fee (quote from my confirmation) to 395.00. My sister called the rental place to ask why the price was so different and was told by the same rep that I had asked for the larger suv and was told about the extra costs per day and had agreed to them. She was also told that I had requested full coverage instead of damage waiver. Untrue. I was told by the rep that full coverage was required by them and I could not just get damage waiver. The rep also said we could not pay with a prepaid visa when we returned the car even though this was listed on their website as a form of payment. When we returned the vehicle, I asked for the manager. When I tried to explain to him what had happened, he out right lied about everything. He said we chose that car and the one we reserved was sitting in parking lot waiting for us. Yet we were never told this. Why weren't we given a choice? We never even saw the other vehicle. The manager said a few more untruths then asked what I expected. He didn't agree so he gave me $60 off. These are deceitful people. To be told lies and treated disrespectfully, well, we will never use them or recommend them again. read more

I have had the misfortune from renting from this location 4 times and please know that this post is concerning the Opelousas location only. The first time I rented there was a good experience. The vehicle was newer, very clean with no issues. However the next three times that I rented from this location, including picking up a vehicle this weekend for work, the vehicles were dirty and stained, smelled of smoke (weed) in the vehicle, and were dented and were noticeably dented and dinged up. After the first two bad experiences, I began renting from the Enterprise at the airport in Lafayette. However due to a time constraint, I was not able to do so this time. Upon receiving the vehicle it was the same old issues dented, dirty, smelled of smoke and only had 1/4 of a tank of fuel. Now I know what you're saying why not simply refuse the vehicle and get something else? This is what they had available! So I guess from here on out the Enterprise at the Lafayette airport will be my go-to stop for rentals. read more
