Terrible experience. I had a confirmed reservation for April 29, 2025, at 10 AM. When I arrived, I was told there were no cars -- even though I could see them on the lot. They sent me to another branch in Arlington Heights, where again there were no cars, despite phone confirmation that one was available. I wasted hours, made multiple trips by taxi, and got zero help or resolution. No car, no options, no another car -- just empty promises and bad service. Unprofessional, bad service and unethical business practices. A rental was arranged by an insurance company after automotive claim. Enterprise met me at the Tesla collision center with a VW Atlas. As I was loading my stuff in, I commented to the rep that the vehicle smelled like cigarettes. The rep stated that by time he noticed it, he was already by me; hard to believe since I noticed it as soon as I opened the door, without actually sitting inside. The rep also mentioned that if it ends up bothering me, they would drive a replacement vehicle to me the next day. When walking around and inspecting the vehicle, I noticed several scratches and paint chips that the rep marked. I signed his tablet, let him scan my credit card for a deposit and was told that I would get the rental agreement via email. I asked if he would email me a copy of the damage report and was told yes. As I was driving home, I noticed that I received an email from Enterprise; it was the rental contract but not the damage report. I called into the local office to ask about the damage report and was told that it is an internal document and not shared with customers. I stated that I was entitled to copies of everything I signed, plus asked what proof do I have that any damage was there prior to my rental if I do not have it documented. Again I was told that it is an internal document and nothing could be done. I asked that the district manager call me, and was told that he would. By time I got home, the smoke smell was unbearable. I drove to Target for a bottle of Febreze and emptied the bottle spraying the headliner, seats, floor and anywhere else I could. The next day the smell was slightly better but still extremely noticeable. The local Enterprise office and not the manager called the next morning and inquired about the rental, I mentioned that the car still smelled of cigarettes and was told I could drive it to the office to exchange it; again, the original rep said that they would drive the replacement to me. I ended up taking my partner's car for work that day and the rental remained mostly undriven the entire weekend. On Monday I called Enterprise Customer Care, explained my complaint and was told that they would have ether the District or Regional Manager call me. It has been a day and a half and still no one has bothered to call. read more

Worst customer service. Last weekend i flew into Chicago from LA for my friends wedding. I initially reserved a audi (or other premium) at Ohare enterprise. After landing and waiting in the line there, we were told to go to enterprise on dempster. We had to uber there, and oh man. It just got more annoying from there. The workers were so rude to us, and even told us to "move" . They said they dont have anything except a corolla for me. They never held a premium car for me. I told them to check other enterprises, and the guy apparently said he did. They had nothing (BS). I told him i wasnt leaving until i get the car i paid for. So he called another guy at a different location, and he said he had the car there. They didn't offer to pay for our uber even though they caused such a problem. Imagine coming to an unknown area and being thrown around. On top of that, being treated so horribly. I give 5 stars to enterprise in schiller park. So thankful your employees sent me there. You have to love a rental company that charges 25 bucks plus toll for a 1.50 toll after I added the plate to my iPass account in the parking lot of the rental place...Somehow all the other tolls registered... at least I could have been notified to pay toll.. read more

Picked up our rental car with Kellen. He was thorough, checked out the car with us and did not rush us. He explained how we can add the rental Lic plate # to our iPass account and pay for tolls, instead of getting charged a fee every day of the rental plus tolls. He was friendly and polite. Car was immaculate with only 9000 miles. Office was tidy and clean. Night drop off was easy and parking lot was well lit. I would definitely rent from them again! read more

They were nice enough but would nag to get car back & rewrite rental agreement to their benefit. After 44 days I did and switched to Budget. Budget was far cheaper, $1300 vs $3000 for same time & much much better car that was solid, didn't sound & maneuver like the junk I was given. The reservation process was very good, it was the actual rental experience that was horrible. When I went to pick up the F-150 I had reserved a very abrasive young man with enough attitude for several people told me that they didn't have the F-150 I had reserved and he didn't really care. When I asked about getting one from another branch he said no. When I asked him what he proposed to do instead he told me I had a choice between a SUV and a minivan. I said I needed the capacity of the F-150 which is why I had reserved it and he told me my only choices were the SUV, which I rejected since I was already driving one and the minivan. When I asked if the seats were removed I was told they fold flat, I asked to see it and said I wasn't sure it would fit what I had to move and he essentially said tough, that's your only choice. When I asked about a discount for not having what I rented he actually had the audacity to tell me that he planned to charge me what ever the rental charge was, I said I wouldn't pay more than the rental of the pickup truck I had reserved. Barely fit the cabinets in and had minor damage to them. Don't trust the reservation you make to be what end up with. Bait & switch! Customer service is non-existent and the attitude of the staff makes me wonder if they are trying to run the branch out of business. Consider renting from other companies that actually honor their reservations and when there is a problem actually try to resolve it rather than compounding it. read more

Today I experienced a less than favorable visit to my favorite car rental agency. I was in desperate need of a large vehicle (Pacifica or Suburban) to transport a large volume of products in one trip. I arrived when the agency opened to find it fully staffed with what I thought were eager-to-please agents. After explaining my requirement to the agent she said there was one on site, already reserved, and then just gave me the phone number for the next nearest Enterprise agency. What's wrong with this picture? What happened to excellent customer service? She did not indicate any reason for her action (like she was not allowed to do it herself). She then went back to talking to her co-worker as I waited on line for a promising answer. No, Arlington IL also did not have one, but the point is there were so many agents doing nothing at that time who could have helped. Next time I need a car it will not be with Enterprise. Sorry, not bring a spoil sport, just expecting excellent customer service that we all deserve. I bet the agent expects that too wherever she goes and those she does business with. read more

I have used enterprise for years. Overall I would say the problems outweigh the benefits. If you can use any other car company, I would. The problems are with honesty, if you rent a car, make sure you get the "complete coverage" insurance because they have been known to blame damage that was not your fault, on you! If you have the total coverage, they can't do that. read more

5 stars for the location, owner, employees, and service. -500,000 stars for the vehicle. Rented a 16 foot moving truck, Ford E350! The only positive was the lift gate. This is the most awful vehicle! Ford should be sued over making this! If you're 5'6" or smaller and driving less than 20 miles total, you may be ok. Had to drive 125 miles each way, but even after only 40 miles, I felt like I was hit by this truck. At 6'1", by the time I got home, my passenger and I could barely walk when we got out. We were 10 times more sore from the truck ride than from moving. Even when we got there, BEFORE we moved anything, we were in pain. The makers of this piece of garbage should be forced to drive it cross-country. read more

I rented a car through Enterprise via Expedia. The booking process was smooth, but I had to change my reservation. One bad thing about Expedia is if you need to change anything, they have to go through the other party (in this case, Enterprise). There was a miscommunication and they mixed up the times, but they ended up letting me pick up my car anyways and even gave me a free upgrade to a full sized car. I think my biggest disappointment was the service at first. I walked in and no one was at the counter. There was a guy making a personal phone call on his cell phone. He saw me, and walked away. REALLY poor service. There was a woman in the office too that did not come out. The guy who ended up helping me was on the phone with other customers. Poor guy! He did all of the work himself. The guy who ended up taking care of me was really nice! Totally changed how I felt in the moment. I was also able to return my car on the weekend even though they were not open, because they have a key return box. I would come back, but I really hope the service gets better. read more

Dirtiest rental place I ever been. We picked up the rental filled with trash under the seats. Told them and they rush to clean little more. When got home found lots of trash under the seats of the trunk. The van smell so bad. We had to buy air fresher to help the terrible smell. Very unpleasant and disgusting. read more

Best truck rental experience. Facility is well run. Office staff is extremely polite and friendly. Bernard helped us with our rental of a 15 foot truck to move an apartment's furniture on a Saturday morning. The office was open on time and all charges were as listed on our reservation (very fair prices!).The truck itself was clean and operated easily. We have had plenty of truck rental experiences in our lifetime, and this one stood out for the quality of the staff and equipment. We read that other truck rental companies promise and don't deliver, or make you drive many miles away at the last minute. Not so for Enterprise--the truck was waiting for us. Someone called us from Enterprise the day before to confirm the truck we had reserved online. Plenty of parking for your car while you use the truck--it's on the end of a shopping center with a Kohls, True Value Hardware and Jimmy Johns. There is a gas station right across the street to refill the tank before you return. My only concern was that they are only open 9-12 on Saturday mornings, so we felt we had to rush to get the truck back as fast as possible, wanting to have the truck personally checked. You can apparently drop it off after these hours and send them an email, but it won't be checked over until they are open on Monday--we didn't want to risk having something happen to it so we didn't do that. I would never hesitate to rent from Enterprise again! read more

I called Enterprise (Dempster and Route 83) in Mount Prospect this morning for a quote as my car is going into the shop on Monday for some body work. $56 a day for a Toyota Camry? But..... interestingly enough the body shop I'm taking my car to has an Enterprise (3 blocks from them) in Arlington Heights which they told me rent cars for $25 a day! Really.... BEWARE! had a reservation for a car, and when i got there - only had one that is within my insurance rental coverage...drove the car home only to realize that the out-of-state license plate was 6 months expired so brought it in the next day to swap for another (again, only one car available)...returned the car 10 days later to be informed i had to pay an additional $7 per day (in addition to other taxes and fees) since insurance only covered certain amount (even though they had all my insurance info before i got the car)...captain james t. kirk of uss enterprise (NCC-1701) the central starship in the star trek universe would not approve of this practice... read more

wow! customer service is BAAADDDDD!!! if you're older? possibly yes. but i'm younger and was in an accident and was sent here. they contacted me regarding the 3 day rental while my car was in the shop, and it was a NIGHTMARE!!! they didn't inform me of the requirements. they showed up with the WRONG vehicle. drove me around to their location to get the correct vehicle. asked for credit card (wasn't told i needed one) then tried to charge the card (also wasn't told that would happen). wasted all day with these people who treated me and talked to me like i was IDIOT. no one would sit down and explain to me, which should have been done in the beginning!!! can't say i will ever rent from them if i ever need another car!!! i wasted all day and still had to go to work that night!!!! they have no respect for anyone!!! read more

The service picking up my vehicle was awesome the lady was very friendly. What I don't appreciate is being able to make a reservation for 6PM pick up yet the station closes at 6PM and then feeling rushed to get it done. I arrived to return the rental car 4 min after 6 and was charged a fee. I attempted to call prior to dropping of the vehicle but because it was close to 6PM no one was available to take the call. It was disappointing, perhaps not allow your site to book a pick up/drop off for 6PM if the location actually closes at that same exact time. read more

I called to rent a commercial van as our work truck was in the shop. I told this to the female who answered the phone. She knew nothing more than that single statement. Instead of giving options for van rental she said I should consider buying one of their trucks since my truck was in bad shape. What? I never told her why our truck was in the shop and never said I wanted to buy a truck. I said no, I'm interested in renting a van. She asked if I could hold for a moment which I did. She then came back on the line and asked if she could take my number and call me back in 5 minutes. That was 12 hours ago and I never heard back. A half hour after I spoke with her I called a different rental company and had a commercial van reserved in less than 10 minutes. read more

I was not satisfied with the experience I had at this location this time around. When I went to pick up a vehicle last week I have always been able to get an SUV for deductible that my insurance coverage gives me. (plus being 6'4 most of the cars they have I don't fit in.) When I arrived I was asked which SUV I wanted to choose from. After picking one of them I was told the rental was more this time. I informed the guy at that I had always had no issues with getting a vehicle at that price. He laughed and smirked at me and said well those times they must have given you a FREE upgrade. Pissed at the way that he said it I shut my mouth before making a scene at the office. After getting out to the car to do the inspection I pointed out damage to the car and at first he was going to walk away from it and not put the damage on the paper. Then after putting the damage on the paper he made sure it was noted smaller then damage they would put down on the form. From the appearance of the car a three year old could have washed the outside and cleaned the inside of the car better. Sticky stains on the center console and on the shifter. The windows were dirty as well. I have had better experiences and 10 times better customer service then this place offers. Seems like this FREE upgrade would have hurt this salesman and would have not gotten his promotion anytime soon. Steer away from this location if you can and save yourself the hassles since it's not worth it.. read more

Very poor customer service. Would give zero stars if I could. Once they receive your payment, they don't care to assist you with anything, even when the error is on their part. I rented a van and did not order an ipass since I have my own. While driving the van, I forgot to grab my own ipass and went through 3 tolls, however there was a enterprise-owned ipass in the van (it was mistakenly left in the van by the agent?). I called the next day to explain and to pay for the tolls I went through (if their ipass was charged) or to see if I needed to go online Illinois tollway and pay there (if their ipass was deactivated). The agent told me that there is no way to de-activate the ipass and that it was accepted, so there is no need for me to go online and pay. I told him I want to MAKE SURE I don't get ticketed, and he assured me the ipass cannot be deactivated. 1 month later I received a toll violation for $63+$12 from enterprise fee for passing on the info to the Illinois tollway. I called enterprise to tell them that I previously called to prevent this and that enterprise should make this right. I should not have to pay $75 when I was specifically told I would not get the violation. I found out later on that they CAN deactivate the ipass and that I should have gone online to pay. Nice... I wish the agent would have just told me the correct info when I called to resolve it then. Anyways, they asked me to send the violation to them and have not heard anything since, even though I have been calling and emailing. It's been 3 months since I received the violation and asked them to resolve the issue,and they still refuse to even respond to me. I am flat out being ignored. At this point, I paid the violation because it was going to be increased to $200, again something I told the agent about and he apparently could care less about responding to in a timely manner. Don't get me wrong, I understand that I didn't pay for the ipass rental in the first place, but that's why I called the next day to straighten out any fees I owe! I will not be renting again from enterprise unless this issue is corrected. This is just one of a few complaints I have. Go with a different rental company or at a minimum find a different enterprise location. read more

Not the newest or fanciest place to rent a car from, but you are there to rent a car, not eat dinner. The employees are nice, helpful and straight forward. If you turn down the optional issuance, they just keep it moving and dont try to make you feel like crap like many other car rental places when you turn down the optional services. read more

The car was awesome! They even gave me an upgrade. They picked me up and drove me to their location. Only issue was having to say repeatedly that I did not want their insurance (at least 5 times). Worst part was when the rep (Phil) finally gave up on pushing the insurance his last comment was "I want you to remember when you damage this rental that I offered you the insurance."
