We rented a Jeep grande wagoneer xl from Enterprise in Boardman for our trip to OBX. Right off the bat we notice the sunroof didn't work-no big deal. Called and reported it to them so it didn't come back on us. A few hundred miles into our trip we noticed the breaks seem to be struggling, the car would shake when breaking at high speed. Saturday rolls around-and we go to leave from parasailing and the car lights up-check abs, park break engaged , Check engine light and WE HAVE NO BREAKS --NONE- PEDAL TO THE FLOOR Immediately call enterprise and get transferred to road side assistance. They wanted us to drive the breakless SUV to a town 3 plus hours away or UBER to the Norfolk airport to swap our car. I had to fight with them to get a tow and car swap. The excuses started to flow-it's gonna take 6-8 hours, all Locations are closed till Monday, you can just park and wait. I was livid!!! We spent 6 plus hours waiting for a car exchange, hours on the phone trying to explain to people that an uber wasn't an option from the OBX and waiting till Monday wasn't an option either , we needed a tow and an exchange of similar size-check out is at 10 am Sunday morning. At 10 pm they brought us a ford escape-a working car but not one that accommodates our family and stuff. Its to late to contact enterprise again and we have to check out in the AM. So we were forced to fly half of us home and leave some stuff behind. We spent 90 percent of our last day in the OBX on the phone fighting with enterprise. No one cared about our kids safety or the fact that we were stranded with no transportation. Enterprise Center is an awful company to rent from and gives zero fucks about safety or customer service. Don't ruin your trip by renting from them. They will come up with every excuse and not take any accountability for putting you in an unsafe car. Do better Enterprise read more

Rented my car for a day. They tried to charge me for 8 days. When I called they said I haven't turned in my keys but they have them now. Couldn't provide how I turned them in. I'm in Dallas and didn't magically teleport to the location to drop them off 8 days late. Makes me wonder if the car just sat in the car port for 8 days. Completely incompetent location. The rep told me what and how to turn in. Followed his instruction. Lack of accountability. Needs more diversity hires. I stopped payment bc don't have the time for stupidity. Supposedly gm is going to call but I'm not holding my breathe. There is a lack of customer service with enterprise in general. This location is no exception. read more

This is worst rental experience I have ever had . I have always rented vehicles through my corporation from Enterprise . Due to a unforeseen circumstances , Hertz had one rental . My experience: *Filthy exterior riddled with bugs *Sightly washed from thighs up *Car wreaked of smoke *Employee didn't complete a walk around the vehicle with me to assess for damage or mileage . I had taken pics to cover me for liability purposes *office wreaked of dampness / mold and air conditioning was off . The office is in need of repairs and updates. *I confirmed my spouse would be able to drive, "it's a $13.50 / day" up charge AND I purchased NO coverage , as I and my husband are insured. * Would not share my corporate rate when asked. Sadly , I was in a pickle and had no choice . *Another customer returned a vehicle and left . The employee stated "that car is unsafe." Frankly, first impressions last a lifetime.. This is an example of one dissatisfied custom who will share with 10 friends / family , of which each could share with their 10 , and it goes on. Sadly, experiences like these can be profound for a local chain business . I pray that I am never in an emergency situation and desperate for a rental . The one on 5th Avenue in Youngstown Ohio is the worst ever! Had us running around for 2 days because you needed this and that. The last straw was when they said my card wouldn't be accepted, however it was yesterday. The most ignorant thing I've heard . Then says it was accepted yesterday as a courtesy. Well courtesy it again today!!!! Enterprise needs totally their customers . Up front was all is necessary. read more

I rented a car for the weekend. I utilized the pick me up option and sat in my hotel lobby for 30 min before they arrived. So if you are on a tight schedule for sure give your self extra time. The agent that drive me was really sweet and the agent who checked me out was really nice. My rate was interesting. I called and booked a few days before and was quoted a rate. Once I got to enterprise I had a local coupon card that I tried to use and out of our corporate rate, film commission discount card and the rate I was quoted. I actually had the lowest rate. Then the car I received was nice but the gas was on empty. The agent said to bring it back on e. But that is completely impossible. So I was forced to leave a half tank. Feels a bit sneaky. I do appreciate a after hours drop off. Edited bit: went back and rented following week. I was given permission to bring the car back on empty because of my previous experience. I love this Enterprise location, the service and staff are exceptional. They always go out of their way to make sure that I am in a car I love. I travel a lot for work and they are very accommodating to my special needs as sometimes I need large vehicles and sometimes I need smaller due to where I am traveling that week. I have also sometimes needed picked up from getting my own vehicle serviced and they are always on time and always a pleasure to work with even on long stressful days. I appreciate all the things the Boardman location does. I recommend this place to anyone needing a car. read more

We rented a nice Nissan Altima and after driving it noticed a slight shimmy. They allowed us to switch cars without any hassle and were very kind and courteous. We always enjoy Enterprise and will rent from them in the future. read more

Horrible staff. No cars at all. Even if you have a longtime reservation and is a long time LOYAL Customer it does not matter. Nothing matters at this BOARDMAN OHIO location! When I went to pick up the car I ordered online, the agent went to bring the car around to me. He came back, no car, he said the car was dirty inside and stunk, it was an econony car. He went inside and gave me an upgrade. I pd only $13.00 a day for the car, but the insurance was the killer. If you can get insurance online, it would be $10 a day but because I got the cheapest car, It didn't have where you could get the insurance online and I had to wait to go the company and get their insurance which was 25 or 26 a day..I won't do that again.. If I can get the insurance and car online cheaper, I will do that next time. Other then that, I loved thecar, it was clean, got great gas mileage, and everything worked in it. read more

Always rent from Enterprise for a vacation car. Last year (2014) had a small problem but the manager made good with a free upgrade coupon. Made my reservation this year (2015) and indicated that I had a free upgrade a month in advance. When I arrived to pick up the upgraded vehicle there were none and no notes indicating that I had conversed with the staff in advance. None-the-less, Nathan gave me a loaner for a few hours and promptly found the SUV that I needed and all was well for vacation. Good Job Nathan!! read more

We booked a 15 passenger van to take the family to Cleveland for an anniversary dinner two weeks in advance. We called 2 days in a row to make sure the van would be available by 10am for pick up. We arrived at 10:08 and the van was on its way from Cleveland. They told us it would be cleaned and ready by 10:30am. The gentleman waiting on us called the driver and the driver said it still needed cleaned. They told us 11:00 am it would be ready. We came back at 11:30am and it still wasn't ready. They also told us they still needed to go fill up the gas tank. 11:09 am and we're still waiting.....they told us since they "dropped the ball" that we could bring it back with an empty tank of gas. That's the ONLY reason they got 2 stars. While we were waiting, 2 other people that we knew who had booked a vehicle months in advance were waiting on their vehicle that they were promised and it also wasn't available...disappointing. read more

I had the complete opposite experience from the reviewer below. I got into an accident on the PA turnpike on my way to a wedding in Cleveland. The body shop down the road recommended this place. I explained my situation to them (5 hours away from home, car in the shop for at least a week, need to drive back home in VA for work, etc). They went through the various options with me, gave me a discounted rate (a $75 daily rental for $30 a day) and waived the fee for an extra driver. There were only 2 people working the desk that day and it was pretty busy, but they were polite, helpful and efficient. read more

This was by far the worst car rental experience I have encountered. After only traveling for four hours we noticed the front plate under the car was loose. We took it in to exchange cars since we only just began our two week vacation. One employee immediately said it was damage to the car and we would have to pay for the damage through an insurance claim. We refused to pay for a "screw that fell off from the plate," After a very uncomfortable exchange and only having driven the car for four hours we exchanged the car but with not knowing if they would determine if a missing screw was cause or a damage claim. We had to live with this for two weeks and finally we were told that we wouldn't be charged for the missing screw. We have been traveling and renting cars for many years both domestically and internationally and we never had such a negative experience. The new car that they gave us was an old Jeep, hardly a car we wanted or needed in New York. I would avoid Enterprise and use a reputable car rental company. This experience put a damper on our vacation. This particular rental site was extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

I needed a vehicle for a golf trip and they provided a Chevy suburban which was large enough for our trip. The vehicle was very clean with plenty of room. The staff was excellent and followed up once I returned the vehicle. I have rented from them now for several years and will continue in the future. read more
