The first cart had awful shocks/suspension and also rattled like crazy. The buggy top was so loose it bumped around and shook in the wind. The brakes were not good. After about 30 minutes we couldn't stand it and returned to exchange for a different cart. It rode much better and top was attached but alas, no seat belts and a chicken bone in the back seat. The lots was full of carts so why the attendant would give us such a crappy one initially is a mystery. You'd think they'd give out the best ones first. No wonder there were no customers and the lot was full. I've learned a good lesson about renting golf carts!

I guess Covid only lives in vehicles that are driven on the beach. Who knew? So, in the Eleventh hour, we found Dana (pronounced Donna) at Port A Jeeps. Dana was very transparent, and said it was slower than usual, with the recent silly ban. She offered me a vehicle, at a very reasonable price, and even offered to deliver it to our RV park, several miles down the road. Deal! When we returned the vehicle, she even took us back to our RV park. All in all, Port A Jeeps provides extremely clean vehicles, at competitive pricing. As far as Dana- we cannot speak enough about her. In an era where Customer Service has died, she was a true gem, and we enjoyed chatting with her. In fact, if we ever open a business in Port A, I'd up the bid, and try to steal her away! 5 Stars; we will rent here again!

Then I remembered the old days when we only had taxis. So I called Coastal Bend Yellow Cab. The owner actually came out to get me. These guys are professional drivers. This is not just someone trying to make an extra buck. This is what they do! Not only was it easier to get them to show up to get me but their rates were exactly what a Lyft would cost. We had a bad coolant leak on a 2009 Toyota while in Port Aransas. I topped off the coolant, but…read moreonly just barely made it past the ferry to Aransas Pass before the temp went up, so I stopped and called for a tow to Wright Brothers. We got there right at closing time, but I was able to tell them what was going on and hand them the keys. We had an unplanned overnight stay, but Keith called in the morning to let me know what the issue was. Long story short, he wasn't able to get the part quickly, and had to do a temporary fix to get us safely back to San Antonio on a Friday. Work was done right after lunch, as promised, and he even gave me a ride from the hotel to get the car. I am very grateful to the shop for caring that I would be able to get my family home today without me having to rent a car and come back next week.

Thank GOD I called Discount Auto Parts and spoke with Seth who went above and beyond by calling their other location to make sure Conner had the starter for my car. I thank GOD for these wonderful little angels that we ran into (Alie & her sister) Alie's starter had went out on her car the night before so she was there at the exact time (GODs timing) taking her starter off and was able to take off our old starter and put the new starter on so we finally got the car up and go on about 4 PM after spending the entire Labor Day Saturday broke down out of town miles and miles and miles away from our home in Dallas. I thank these guys for being so kind and polite even when we came back the next day -- SUNDAY to return the core. It turned out to be a bad experience with a AMAZING ending
