Five stars! It was also a pleasure working with the folks at Aspen. Recently however, right about the time I was needing to go back for more physical therapy, I learned that Blue Stone abruptly took over the booking and billing portion of their services from the Amana Aspen Center. Unfortunately, this was where the Blue Stone administration and handling of customer service failed miserably and I would not recommend them. A couple of reasons. One, the booking and billing was given to a Blue Stone physical therapist, who was appeared inexperienced on the administrative/billing portion of the business process and was struggling with the customer service piece. Perhaps because she was juggling too many tasks. Second, Blue Stone has micromanaging rules they want their patients to adhere to, which while most of it was somewhat normal, I drew the line at asking for my SS number because it was superfluous. They already had obtained all the data they needed. (You are not legally required to give it and I did not) And finally, when told I needed to sign additional documents, I asked that they be emailed to me so I could look them over before my appointment. I then got an email from a different company Blue Stone had contracted, asking for me to enter more of my info plus a password before I could see the document I had to sign. When I asked again if they could just send me the documents, I got a note back from the contracted company telling me I had to talk to the therapy team. What? I thought I did. Based on the number of red flags that kept popping up, I canceled my appointment with Blue Stone. In summary, for a small Iowa based company with only 100+ employees, I'm disappointed.

I just found out that Kristi is temporarily at another location. I understand having to make changes. I don't understand Blue Stone being so cryptic,uncertain and secretive about the situation. I feel that patients with scheduled appointments deserve a notice and explanation. I think the clinic at the Lodge is excellent and I have no problem with switched to a different therapist until Kristi returns. I only think that the situation was handled poorly. If I find out that Kristi doesn't return, that will be further deception.

Let's call the first one masculinity issues...I won't go in depth on that, but I think most men get it. Women will think it's stupid because they have things done that are way more intrusive. The second one was fear of the results. I've lost friends to cancer, I've seen others fight it and recover, and I know people who live with it currently. It's never a good thing. I started a clear liquid diet at 500 pm on Wednesday. I drank the first half of my prep from 400 pm - 600 pm on Thursday. I had to get up and drink the rest of the prep at 245 am - 445 this morning. Lots of trips to the bathroom and a couple rolls of toilet paper. Drinking the prep was the worst part (and not eating real food for 40+ hrs). I didn't flavor it or anything. It's a little thick and best chased with some water. Check in at 715 am and the procedure was scheduled at 845 am. During the check in you get undressed, gowned up, and they start a fluid IV. Vitals check. In my case they asked a lot of medical history questions at this point too. When it's time you walk to the procedure room, you lay down and they go over the procedure with you, and then the sedation is started. The procedure takes 15 min to an hour or so. Mine took less than 30 min...I think. I don't really remember anything that happened in the procedure room after the doctor (Dr He) discussed the procedure with me. I thought I'd be in a semi-conscious twilight sleep. I was completely out. I don't remember anything until I was in recovery. You are required to have a driver because of the sedation. I'm glad my gf was there because I don't even remember some of what was said in recovery. I had no discomfort. Then you get dressed and go home... We were in the car by 1000 am. Bottom line it really wasn't that bad and I'm not sure why I was so worried. If you suffer from the same fears that I do/did. Don't. Having fears is normal and okay, but don't sacrifice your own health because of them. It's a necessary screening process as we age. Oh by the way. Clean bill of health. No polyps... The service I received from everyone here was no less than stellar from scheduling to intake to recovery. A real class act!

They have a free charging station for phones near the TV on the far end. Several TV and chairs spaced out throughout the first floor. Restrooms are not clearly found if not looking for them. Also. The suites are not readily visible all the time. Look up and you'll find the suite numbers hanging most of the time, but I wish they made it a little more obvious. After the procedure, I was able to enter the office and stay in the recovery room with the patient. Staff inside were exceptional and very attentive. Update from doctor was brief but informative. Nursing staff did a great job at discharge and prepping us for at home care.

I cleared…read moretheir acceptance of my insurance before referral, and again before coming for my 1st appointment and the 1st thing I was asked was to sign a form stating my insurance didn't cover the hearing test and I'd agree to pay out of pocket. I advised my insurance does cover hearing tests and did just two months prior and I did not need another test, she advised they prefer their own and if I would not sign the form it sounded like I was not a good fit for their establishment. She is correct--I know a fraud when I meet one and was not an easy target, so I was a bad fit. (The next clinic I called was appalled and said they would never refuse a patient who did not want a hearing test). Don't give this company your personal information -- I would not trust them at all.
