With reservations a must, six of us finally got to try La Picara. There are a variety of tapas, ponchos and raciones on their menu. We tried a lot of them, and everything was delicious with the possible exception of Sepia a la Plancha, grilled squid which was too tough and chewy. Do NOT neglect to see their "Suggeriments fora de Carta" on a chalkboard. Most every off-the-chart suggestion we tried was exceptional, with my favorite actually being Tomaquets de Temporada amp Burratina í old D'Alfabrega. This was probably the best Burrata and Tomatoes serving I've ever tasted. It must be their spiced basil oil. The other standout special was a delicious Pintxo de Foie a la Plantxa, luxurious grilled foie gras skewer. A couple of drag queens came in promoting their show. They were a hoot at our table. Paola, the owner, was so kind and gracious. Service was fantastic. La Picara is definitely a must try during your time in Sitges!

Interesting name for my favorite restaurant discovery this year in Sabadell. The place is presented everywhere as vinacoteca or wine bar. However, we had a menu tasting and it was an epic night for us, even though neigther of us had any wine!!! The restaurant is charming to the max, with plants and flowers and French home decor paraphernalia like magazines about interior decoration. So eclectic that every chair is different and you will think for a minute or so if you are in an antique shop or at a wine bar. Music was super mellow and not too many people, so we could really have a conversation with zero noise. Service was very personal and amiable, the owners are a husband and wife that will come to your table and will change your forks and knives every single time that they change your dish. We got a bunch of mini dishes, very creative cuisine, excellently presented and delicious in taste. My favorites were the cold melon soup with toasted ham, the hummus with truffles and tapenade, and all sorts of fish delicatessen. My sorbet dessert was so good too and my friend enjoyed her chocolate cake as well. Everything was very recommendable in this place, and the ironic thing is that they dont define themselves as restaurant, just as wine bar where you can find something to eat. You will find actually plenty to eat and you will have a very good experience in there.

My husband and I were able to sit in a tight spot along the wall in the bar area. I would recommend reserving ahead if you can though, as this is a spot not to be missed. The wine list is varied with lots of organic wines and cavas. The food is simple, but so delicious. Even the simple tomato and mozzarella salad blew me away. The cheese plate was the best I've ever had. So much variety and a good portion. There was a local sheep's milk cheese that was insanely flavorful and addictive. All the toasts are on point and you can't go wrong if you randomly pick some. We tried the octopus and the anchovy. Customer service is excellent and very friendly. Our server spoke English so asking questions was easy. This area is a little touristy, so I wasn't expecting the best. However, everything was excellent. Lighting is dark and romantic. There were a lot of couples on dates here. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner, but to be fair, the place was packed. I hope to return next time I'm in Barcelona.

Favourite wine bar in Barcelona! Why? Because 1) they have so many different wines per glass that…read morethere MUST be a wine for your liking and 2) it's not so "Barcelonesque".... Let me elaborate on that; So far & foremost, the interior is straightforward modern and 'warm' due to the use of wood. All over the back wall and above the bar, the wine bottles are standing there tall & beautifully - I kid you not. And have a good look at the lamps above the tables. Design, design, design my friend. Second, the service is what you'd expect in Barcelona so no surprises there. The food menu on the other hand, not the standard tapas and absolutely worth to pair with your wines. Ooooh the wines! Over to the wines.... Every two months, they change their wine menu so basically you can't wrong here. The menu is extensive, the wines are exquisite, and I bet - if you're a wine snob like me, you WILL get drunk here because you'd like to taste this one. And that one. And that one. Aaaaand sis won. Eeeeèèèn wan moor. As we say in Dutch: lekker doen!!
