Francesca's Flowers on 46 Latrobe Terrace in Paddington Brisbane, is a welcoming & charming flower…read moreshop & tea-house, set in a beautifully converted cottage. Like a breath of fresh air on a bright sunny day you can't help but feel happy once you enter. Being a little up along Latrobe Terrace, you are further away from the hustle & bustle of Given Terrace, & Francesca's Flowers feels like a country retreat. There's of course lots of gorgeous flowers inside, a variety of fresh bouquets in vases & pots, providing a rainbow of colours. There's a tea-room that has a cosy familial feel, brightened up by colourful tissue paper pom poms hanging from the ceiling. A large central communal table is decked out with flowers & tiny pots, from where guests can sample the variety teas, as well as enjoy the fresh cakes sitting under glass jars at the counter. The back room looks perfect for a book-club or gathering for mums & dads, as there's a kids playroom cubbyhouse, a converted walk-in wardrobe. Fully packed with stuffed toys, games, puzzles & books & colouring pencils & paper, we wanted to play in there ourselves! We decided to spend our time at the front verandah from which to take in the serenity, feel the rays of the sun, & sip on our beautiful flavoured teas from the Tea Centre. Perfectly accompanied by a gluten-free almond & orange cake from Jocelyn's provisions. All we needed was a good book, & we could have spent the entire day there. To top it off, we asked Francesca to put together a small bouquet for us, to reflect "happiness". What she came up with was absolutely lovely. Francesca, always had a dream of her own business where she could express her creativity. Thankfully this dream is a reality, and the rest of Brisbane can share it. Come to Francesca's Flowers, you will not be disappointed.

Honestly, a lot of that had to do with the store's minimal nature. Where other florists I've visited have successfully meshed many arrangements with a plethora of homeware and décor choices, Moss Flowers and Gifts didn't have that many flowers or arrangements on show. Still, you can't really go wrong with fresh flowers, and this place has those. They also have a nice little selection of scented candles and incense, plus a very charming and exotic bamboo ladder nestled in the corner of the store. The smell of flowers is very strong here and hits you as soon as you walk through the door. I am a fan, I just wish I'd seen more of what they have to offer. Here, you can also order flowers online for every occasion.

They also do delivery to all Brisbane suburbs, with the price varying from suburb to suburb (check their website for a breakdown of prices). I once used these guys to deliver a bouquet to a friend who had lost someone in the family and found the very sensitive and helpful in choosing the right bouquet for the situation. At just over $100 (inc. delivery fee) it wasn't cheap but it was definitely an elegant expression of my sympathy that was really appreciated by the bereaved.

Everyone warned me that it would be small but for a person who grew up very far from beaches; it's still awesome! I was a bit hungry so I went for the meat pie and my sist wanted some morning coffee. They were so kind and let us take our time in ordering. After ordering, you don't want to hurry to your seat. You want to explore the entire place! The decor and flowers are just gorgeous. All of the book titles are uplifting and you just want to take all of them home and put them on your bookshelf and coffee table. The color scheme is gorgeous as well! As you walk around, you begin to realize that it's not just a cafe but a gift shop, and boutique florist! We sat outside because the weather was nice and my meat pie was adorable! It was a nice petite size and came with a fresh salad. It was just enough for breakfast and didn't feel too heavy. My sister loved her coffee. We felt relaxed and loved the atmosphere. Little Stanley street is filled with various restaurants and I definitely think we found the perfect one!

I only had cappuccino with hazelnut syrup and though I loved the first two sips, it got a bit sickening after that. I felt the coffee wasn't strong enough, a bit too milky. Divine Flowers has to be one of the most beautiful florists I have visited in quite a while. It was…read morecoming up to Christmas when I went in, searching for a gift for my mother. There selection of plants, flowers and arrangements were simple but effective. I particularly liked their succulents growing in a glass bauble you could hang from your tree or anywhere else in your house to make it more festive. The prices at this place were not cheap however. I particularly noticed this in relation to the potted herbs they also had on sale. There are many places in Brisbane where you could get the same for less. The main draw card of Divine Flowers really is their divine floral arrangements and earthy decor available. Just browsing through this shop will make you feel relaxed and happy and they are the perfect place to pick up flowers or gifts that are a little more unique.

At the risk of being overtly cliché, Divine Flowers is actually that: divine. I think 'luxury…read moreflorist' is an apt name for them; the giftware and flowers they sell are more than your generic pots and arrangements. Every arrangement I see at Divine is beautifully crafted and presented so it looks like a masterpiece. You can choose something really simple like a gerbera arrangement and they still craft in a way that makes you realise you could never do it yourself. The flowers are really high quality and they make them according to what's in season at the time. The homewares are simple and very lovely, and they utilise their space well to showcase such a gorgeous array of flowers. They also wrap the flowers beautifully and throw in some plant food. I bought one stem to brighten my house and they were so lovely and treated me like I was buying an expensive bouquet. Such a gorgeous shop. Divine offers a great choice for weddings, Valentine's Day, Mothers' Day, anniversaries, whatever you need. Their flowers are absolutely beautiful and they obviously take the utmost care arranging them perfectly. Worth every penny in my opinion. They also do delivery at a cost according to different zones.
