In a town like…read moreBig Sky, having a spot where you can get everything you need from your home (ranging from light bulbs to paint supplies to forks and knives) creates all the difference in my family being able to stay local. My Aunt and I ran into Ace Hardware to pick up a plant care tool, and I was so impressed at the breadth of inventory of this quaint and well-organized Ace Hardware. You'll pay premium prices for that toaster you need, but it sure beats driving an hour to Bozeman when you need it in an instant. The store was clean, well-organized, and no fewer than 3 different associates stopped us to see if we needed help. We found the soil thermometer quickly and had a pleasant interaction at checkout. I just want to give a tremendous kudos to this Ace Hardware for serving the needs of the town of Big Sky!

They are not directly associated with the business they decide to set up shop at. Maybe get some facts before you start getting angry at people for no reason: Bobcat Discount Fireworks sets up in front of the store, not INSIDE of it. They ask permission, but that does not mean the Ace Hardware is responsible for how they act because they DO NOT work at Ace. Honestly, people like you are pathetic. You really think that lashing out is the way to go about things? What has happened to adults in this country now, acting like spoiled children? Stop taking out your rage on people who have done NOTHING to you. Anyway, Ace Hardware is amazing. Love the atmosphere, the staff are always wonderful and they have a great selection. Well, okay. What can you say about a hardware store? Does anyone really not know what to expect?…read more With that said, when it comes to Ace Hardware stores, they're much smaller than those big box behemoths and for that reason I prefer them. Sometimes all I need are some nails, bird feed, a key made, a screen-repair kit, charcoal for the grill, or something similar, and I don't want to walk through 6 blocks of store (ok, that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean) to pick up one or two items. And trying to find someone to help? Forget it. Even before the pandemic it was a crap-shoot. I only have so many minutes in my life. Nope. Not spending them like that. On the other hand, Ace Hardware always has a friendly employee who won't just point me in a general direction, but often will actually walk with me to wherever it is. This Ace Hardware is no exception. It's not out on the main street, it's on the side street near the freeway and doesn't have any of the large signs, so it's obviously focused on locals. That should be (and is) a selling point for all these neighborhood Ace Hardware stores. Small towns and small town hardware stores are such time savers and really have their large-size competitors beat for personal interactions.
