SERVICE PROVIDED WAS ABUSIVE: The service provided by Dr. James Leonette was poor and abusive. I feel as a mother it is my duty to inform female patients about his bullying behavior. As background my daughter is wheelchair bound and doesn't have full use of her arms/hands and is unable to stand and walk. Red Flag #1 When sitting down for her FIRST appointment with Dr. Leonette my husband and I were with her as we are her caregivers. Usually during the initial consultation there are introductions, a get to know you, and your medical history. He didn't want to listen to her tell her medical history and interrupted her repeatedly and asked her instead what her goals are. Red Flag #2 When he was being rough and causing pain she expressed to him that it hurt and to back off, and he didn't adjust pressure, he just said it's going to hurt and to deal with it. To put it into perspective her hands and body are arthritic and osteoporotic. Her hands and fingers are contracted and fragile. For him to not adapt could cause permanent damage. HUGE RED FLAG #3 He wheeled her to the X-Ray room where I wasn't allowed and shut the door. My daughter asked if she needed to take off her glasses for the X-Ray, and he knelt down to her face and told her "You need to calm the fuck down!" Mind you we just met him, she's in a room alone with him and can't leave on her own. When he wheeled her out of the room I could tell something was wrong in her expression and he was off. She couldn't tell me what happened until after we got home because she was so shook up. I called the office immediately to request that I talk with him. When he called back I questioned him for how he treated my daughter, and asked why he did it. He said, "I am unorthodox in my approach and I do it to throw people off of their patterns." To which I said, you just met her, how do you know her "patterns", you wouldn't hear her history? I then asked why he wouldn't stop when she was hurting and asking him to stop and adjust pressure? For both questions he made excuses for himself that he was having a bad day because he was having back pain. He was unwilling to adapt his approach and was unapologetic. To say that my daughter is shook up and feeling vulnerable is an understatement. On paper Dr. James Leonette tics the boxes, he is highly educated and skilled, but in reality he is egotistical and domineering, and based off of this appointment his disposition is ill-equipped to working with the handicap population. read more

I was here (on the Occupational Health portion) specifically to do a fit test for work. It was a last minute thing and I was home for the holiday and my mother found this place. Really easy to schedule with Troy. As a health care worker, I have to have my N95 respiratory fit test yearly, but as a traveler I'm not always in the hospital when it comes due. I appreciated how simple it was to schedule and appointment. I also appreciated that this was far simpler than the usual fit test. Would definitely utilize this place again, at least for this aspect of the facility. read more

Shane is a great physical therapist! He provides one on one treatment, a variety of manipulations, stretches and treatments and responds to whatever is ailing to help in anyway possible. Other facilities I've been to stick a tens unit on you and let you lay for 20 minutes then tell you to go through the same exercises, coming back when you're done. Even Shane's interns are kind, demonstrate and work alongside you to make sure movements are truly beneficial. I recommend Shane Piatt 100%! I am thankful he is a healer! read more

I only wish I had went sooner! I had been bothered with intermittent hip and back pain issues for too long to remember. During a recent pain relief massage session, a trusted and very talented massage therapist explained I needed help beyond what she could provide with my clearly misaligned hips. She highly recommended Enliven Wellness for assessment. I made an appointment with a super friendly staff and saw Dr. Leonette. We were initially very impressed, and the doctors are wonderful, knowledgeable, informative and do quality work...BUT...the billing system is a mess. We have insurance, but consistently have problems getting correct statements from Enliven and the ones they send are not explanatory. The last billing company they had was doing an awesome job but Enliven chose to stop using them and go with their office staff again as billers. This is the fourth billing change since we became patients. The one in charge is rude and unprofessional. They moved her from the front office to a back office and that helped because I have been signing in and watched female patients in tears because she was bullying them about their bill. She consistently threatens me with collections even though our insurance has paid already and my husband and I are paying monthly. She told me as well that she will NOT be sending bills out consistently on a monthly basis. It took us several months to get to where we had some idea what we even owed. Then some payments were not applied and we had to produce cancelled checks to prove them. Then we started seeing where our insurance was paying for what we were being billed for. Three other couples with whom we are personal friends have had similar experiences and no longer use Enliven. With the help of our insurance company, we were able to prove that we had been charged for services our insurance company had already paid for and received a refund of almost $1500! When I did speak to Dr Leonette about the matter, he said he wouldn't do anything about the person who caused all the problems but was just going to wait for her to retire. 3 read more

I had some problems and ended up in the hospital for 10 days late in 1999. Saw a variety of doctors and had dozens of tests. Got a new diagnosis almost every day. Lost over 60 pounds and was discharged without any real diagnosis. Was told to go back in a few weeks for more tests. My health continued to decline. Luckily my daughter found EnlivenWellness online. Been going there for the past couple months. Progress is a little slow (probably due to my poor health) but I am much healthier than I have been over the past couple years. The doctor and staff are great. I am treated like a friend - not just another patient walking through the door. I decided my health was worth spending the extra time and money to go to people who can help me regain my quality of life! Terrible treatment, the chiropractor that was assigned to me failed to adjust me, and a couple hours after leaving my upper back has been in great pain (I was not having any back pain prior to the appointment). This place doesn't care about treating the actual problem. Every other chiropractor I've seen has treated me within one appointment and typically will be good for a year or more before I tweak something again. They will schedule follow up appointments before even being seen and knowing what's going on with the patient. This is not a regular practice for a chiropractor. Please seek services elsewhere these guys are quacks that just see you as a paycheck and not as a patient. read more

I have been going to enliven chiropractic for several years now. But recently I had an experience that will cause me to discontinue the use of their services. I had went in for an adjustment and paid the upfront fee of $55 and went through a revaluation because it had been 11 month since my last visit. The Dr. Performed the evaluation and performed the adjustment on my back and recommended that I be put on traction and some vibration table I sat on. Never informing me that there was any extra charge for these proceecures. And I was dismissed assuming that i was paid in full. I then scheduled to come back the next day. When I came for my appt the next day I was asked if I had planned on paying for my previous visit surprised I asked how much was remaining. I was shocked when they told me I owed another $175 on top or the already paid $55 for a visit that lasted no longer than 30min in total. When I asked what the charges were from then they explained that the machines I was put on were an extra chaege . I asked the older lady in the back of the office if this was a common practice not to inform the customers when they would be charges extra she got mouthy and said she was sorry I was a novice to this, honestly I'm glad I am. She continued to talk down to me as I tried to get further clarification on the charges which I never received. Eventually frustrated I paid them in full , cancled my appt and the future appointments the dr. Had recomended which was 3 times a week and told them I wouldn't be back. This place is incredible! I have suffered from migraine, tension and cluster headaches for the last 15 years. After just a few adjustments, the headaches are gone!! The staff is wonderful and the level of respect and care they show to their patients is the epitome of excellence! read more

The chiropractors are great, but everything else about this business is pathetic. Their whole office is the most poorly run office I have ever experienced. Firstly, they have screwed up my bills multiple times, to where they don't even know what they're charging me and why they're charging it. Secondly, the office employees say that there's only one person in the office who can deal with billing questions, but she's only there once a week! And i never get my calls returned when I have billing questions. In fact, I have been waiting for a call return for over seven weeks; I called them again this morning and one of the office ladies said that the billing lady tried to call me but I didn't answer. Nice try! Enliven never tried to call me. The office is incompetent beyond belief. I almost wonder if they have their office set up so poorly in order to cause patients stress so that they need the chiropractic care. Avoid this place at all costs! read more
