I was also shown a "treatment plan" of 24 sessions and given the option to pay up front. I have insurance so he was asking me to pay copays for visits I had not yet had. Do not do this! Copays are to be paid on a date of service. The entire thing felt like fraud. I'm sure these are kind people. But I'm not sure what this guy is actually qualified to do. It did not feel like anything worthy of insurance coverage for medical care.

On the recommendation of a friend who uses her for allergy relief, I tried acupuncture with Dr. Jen. She was very patient with me, explaining the process and the concepts behind what she was doing. I wasn't familiar with everything she was talking about, but it relaxed me to the point where I barely noticed the needles. I just sorta laid there and meditated in a comfortable space for a bit with the needles in, and my pain went away. First some during the treatment but it seemed to continue to work noticeably for some time afterwards. I would say my pain overall went away, never returning to the level before the treatment. I suppose anything that has been around for as long as acupuncture has to have some effectiveness..? I certainly think that it is worth trying, it was practically painless and for me, very effective. Dr. Jen was very kind and made me feel comfortable (and I hate needles!) and handled everything in a hygienic way so I felt like I was in good hands.
