So coming to Rome for the first time I figured we definitely needed to visit the Vatican and we would need a tour to take us around all the important must see sites. We booked this tour thru trip advisor and it was roughly $44 a person for 3 hours. We arrived 20 minutes before departure at the enjoy Rome ticket office. Realized our tour guide was an older woman in her late 50s early 60s and loved her job. It was great for the first hour or so then I was over it. I loved the sites and the learning that went hand in hand with the tour, but she was too controlling and limited what we could see while on the tour. She always wanted us to stay close, took us to the places she wanted to go, rather than allowing us to roam the space and meet her after a few minutes. It was frustrating and multiple times I left the group, kept my radio on and did my own thing. Had I not left the group I would have been able to see lost of St. Peter's Basilica and St. Peter's Square. If you like tours and enjoy people showing your their favorite spots within a museum, look into this place. Otherwise, do what I did and blaze your own trail!

Definitely some pros and cons in booking our tour of the Vatican through Enjoy Rome. Pros: We got to skip all the lines and had easy entry in and around the Vatican, including the Sistine Chapel. Cons: Our guide was hard to understand and it felt like she buzzed by certain areas inside that other groups got to see. In the end, I would try a different place of booking for my tour

Our horrible tour with Enjoy Rome Tours - NEVER AGAIN!

I would never take this tour ever again & never recommend them. First, our instructions were incorrect and had to walk to another place to check in. The check in was super impersonal. The semi-private tour was with 14 people! The tour guide was the WORST I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE & I've been to over 20 countries. She was giving me anxiety because she was so worried, saying "Oh Dio" into her microphone always & biting her nails, obviously never having to have a group to guide. She was knowledgeable, that's why I gave her 1 star. Her monotonous voice and just running through everything SUPER FAST without any pauses for direction or emphasis was just horrible. Then she had an accent (I do too, so it doesn't bother me at all), but I could not understand her English and in the same sentence she would say things in italian (and I speak Italian), that would be like "oh, no!", "this is so crowded" or "wow-what should I do". The most horrible tour guide. I asked her two questions, one she couldn't answer, just repeated that Rafaello painted his own portrait in that corner. Then, at the end of the tour, asked her a question twice and she didn't want to answer it because she was more worried about LOOSING 2 of the tourists with our group (they led the group almost 30 min before she noticed). My kids took off their ear pieces and i did too & started listening to other tour guides who were really good. NEVER BOOK FROM THIS TOUR COMPANY!!!!

Unorganized, late, made us wait an extra hour even though we arrived early as had been instructed. I do not recommend.

My mother-in-law is elderly and getting around with her took more time than expected. Still, we arrived at the staging area and the staff was still very pleasant and accommodating. You can tell they were getting us to hurry because they know the area would be overrun with other tour groups. They really wanted us to have the best time and experience there. And they sat us in a very good spot for the Wednesday audience with the Pope. I would definitely recommend this company.

He is definitely highly recommended. He is an archaeologist as well so he had a lot of fascinating things to share with us. We actually ran into him on three separate occasions in Rome by chance and he was great to talk to each time. The Colosseum tour we took also included the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill (both even more fascinating than the Colosseum in my opinion). The Vatican tour was with Claudia and she was equally as knowledgeable and fun! She obviously knew the folks she needed to to get around in this massive complex without having to wait for anything. The "no-line" entry most tours get has lines here. She had the hookup to get us even past those lines. The tour starts through the Vatican Museum and it was very crowded at the time we were there. She fought to make room for us to get in front of the masses to get a close look at all the things she wanted us to see. It was great to see her genuinely care about our experience. Just about every other tour group we saw in this places had at least 30 people in them. Both tours we took with Real Rome Tours had less than 10. We all had an equal opportunity to experience these beautiful sights with great knowledgable folks who even stuck around to answer any questions we had. They also give great recommendations on restaurants and other places you need to see while in Rome. Gerard was also a pleasure dealing with while booking our tours. He is well organized and gave us a great alternative when we wanted to do the Colosseum Underground tour that wasn't available. It worked out perfectly for us. I couldn't recommend Real Rome Tours any more.

Our driver, Antonello, was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend him if you are thinking about this type of tour. He was so personable, had a lot of great knowledge to share, and fit in all the sights we wanted to see in the 5-hour tour. He knew the places to get out and take pictures and he made the experience in Rome a great one! Julia was our private tour guide at the Vatican. She was absolutely wonderful. She was so animated and shared with us the rooms and pieces she felt were the most important to see with only one day to explore the Vatican. We had such a wonderful time with her. She is one tour guide I will not forget! If you want an above-and-beyond experience at the Vatican, book with Easitalytours and request Julia. You will not be disappointed! This is the best Tour company out there. They are reasonably priced and the tour guides are absolutely top-notch!

Simone has incredible insight in all things Rome. Want to hear about Mussolini and WW II, the Caesers, Jewish Ghetto or perhaps the Appian Way? This is the bike tour you need to go on. The price is fair and he's generous with his time.

Turns out there's more catacombs in Rome and the one we went to was fantastic. There's also more ancient roads than just one. While we did ride on "the one" we also saw two others that were better preserved! I had no idea there were multiple aqueducts. We saw two! Plus got to see inside one. We had done a larger commercial tour before. We will go with Simone if we go back to Rome. He also was very good with our 10 year old girls. He spent time to find a bike that fit them just right (they're super tall and skinny so it wasn't easy). When they needed a break, we went to a cafe to have a local Roman lunch. It was fantastic. While I don't like riding on roads with cars, it's impossible to avoid in Rome. He always made sure we were safe in riding and crossing roads. We did have one problem with one of the bikes. He had a tool kit with him and was able to easily adjust the bike. This is by far my favorite Rome activity of the trip.
