This is older style grocery store locally owned and apparently has an amazing beer fridge (son that…read moreis college aged). But what I have been wanting to try is their breakfast and lunch bar. I couldn't find the hours for the bar printed anywhere (6a-9:30a). I just assumed breakfast would be until ten. So made it at 9:35. Most of it had been taken away, but asked if I could still be served with what was left. Lots of looking left and right trying to decide. Finally said yes if I was ok with what was out. I had scrambled eggs bacon and a biscuit. It was very good. Not saying it would be as good as an atlanta breakfast place like Callie's hot little biscuit. But it was good and $2.45. Lunch (10:30 or 11a until they run out which apparently is between 2-3p). I had Lima beans black eyed peas and rice with a yeast roll (or cornbread or spicy cornbread). $5. It was good. Hot and hit the spot. Not amazing. But good. I would go back. I expected the staff to be nicer and friendly since they are locally owned and operated. However, the staff at the bar tend to be surly, while the check out staff are always friendly. Not sure if they hate their jobs and owners or just always having a bad day when I go.

Drove 15 miles back to return the cheese and the woman in customer service looked at it and said "they must not have cleaned the machine" and processed our refund. We then asked what the price was on firewood and the woman in customer service said she didn't know, that they change the price every time it's delivered and to ask someone else. I found someone else, asked the same question and was told to ask the woman in customer service. When I mentioned we had and were told to ask someone else, she talked to a bagger and came back to tell us he would help. That was the last we heard from anyone. We waited a bit, then gave up and went down the street to Piggly Wiggly, where we'll be doing our shopping for the duration. There seems to be a push to have a "midday huddle" at this store, but it's obvious they don't discuss customer service or food safety.

I think that this is the only business in this town where you can spend your money at that I know of. This little grocery had all kinds of bottled drinks you can buy. The farmers in the area do a lot of business here. As a matter of fact, they will stay open until the farmers get out of the field. Their hours are from 6am to 8pm. However, they will stay open until farmers get out of the field. Since visiting earlier in the week, I stopped by for a home made sandwich. I got a roast beef sandwich with American cheese. It was delicious. I also noticed how popular they are. There's two tables inside where you eat at in here. It was lunch time and there was actually 2 people making sandwiches. I also noticed you can get plate lunches. In fact, I noticed there was a plate lunch special today that included meat loaf, 2 sides, a roll and a sweet tea all for about $6.50. In summary, if you are on your way to or from Greenwood, stop here and eat. It's a lot better that all the fast food places that they have in town.
