Had a lovely dinner with my friend here in this tiny, snug restaurant and it was the best! SERVICE: Their servers here speak English, French (bien sûr), and Chinese! They were very nice and accommodating when we had questions of their menu items. FOOD: I got a noodle dish that came with cucumber, carrots, and ground meat in a shallow soup (it's a dry noodle dish for the most part). It was so good - there were plenty of vegetables and a hefty amount of noodles and beef to make your euro worth. My friend and I also split a dish of (17) dumplings to go with our individual plates and it was so much food. Food coma/baby were definitely worth it and the dumplings were so delicious! OTHER: We didn't have a reservation but the wait during dinner hour (7/8 pm) was not bad at all. We had to wait around 15-20 minutes, but considering how many people were coming and going it wasn't a bad wait at all. I suppose I'd recommend you to make a reservation as this place can get super crowded! read more

Good start with very hospitable staffs. Order taking was swift with good suggestions. The flavour is on the strong and salty side so make sure you mention less salty (note to self). The Spicy Beef has a good amount of beef in it so a good thing. There are restaurants that gives you a lot of chilli and pepper but few slices of beef. The Sesame Cold Noodle is too watery but flavour is good. All in all a 3 stars. Wanted to give them 4 stars but the staff poured all the leftovers into the soup bowl in front of us. Disgusting... Update: We gave it another shot and, while much better than the last visit, there is no doubt they have a new chef or new recipes or new ingredients. Just not the same as before. Recipes have changed and the taste has declined greatly. Can no longer recommend, sadly. We are in Lyon frequently and this place is our only "must visit" place so far. We always start off with the plate of dumplings and the wonderful red dipping sauce (we request spicy style). We love the dumplings here and consider them at the top of the heap. We also order a second, different meal each time we visit, all have been good to great - but the dumplings and the friendly, helpful service keep us coming back. read more

I know I will be thinking about those dumplings for quite some time as they were the most delicious dumplings I've ever had. Hands down. We are only in Lyon for four nights and came on our first and fourth night here for dinner. In fact, all of the food we have had had been delicious! Wow, I'm impressed! I really enjoyed the food at Engimono, interesting dishes, very flavorful. We ordered several things from the menu, a fat noodle dish that was outstanding, delicious pork buns, two types of tasty dumplings and some kind of yummy spicy meaty dish that wasn't translated into French. When we ordered, they double checked that we understood it was spicy! I'm looking forward to going back! read more

This restaurant has a terrasse, good option for war evenings. Warm welcome, good service, even if we were not lucky to be seated elsewhere than close to the entrance, as we did not book on a Thursday evening. I recommend the fish, full of herb and lemon flavors. Maybe too expensive, it is a reproach I give to all new and nice chinese restaurant in Lyon like Carnets de Voyage and Chez Riz. If you want to eat the Chinese way with many side dishes like marinated vegetables, it will cost you a fortune with no reason at all this restaurants. Food was colorfully delicious and that took priority over any downfalls. Food for the members in my party was served at different times and we had to wait to place our order as the food server had a patio full of people to manage. But again food was good so you get 4 stars. I'd recommend and return. read more
