We sat outside, and even it was a little small, still cozy and a lot of stuff going on around us (we like that). As appetizers we received free crab chips and a bottle of tap water (which you get everywhere). The food we ordered was a noodle soup (beef pho) and a dish with rice (the small one on the photo). The taste? Amazing!! Compared what I am used to back in Germany (in terms of Asian food), this was really pretty much gourmet for Asians. I could taste all the flavor of both dishes, and every bit was worth it. And even the portions, at least mine, were not too big, I was totally satisfied! I'd rather prefer really nice food instead of quantity, so this would be the place to go! Oh, also, even there is the free tap water, order the coconut drink!! There are concise a la carte options as well as their flagship menu which gives you a good variety of vietnamese dishes. From nems , dimsum soup as starter or crispy duck as main meal it was all delicious. Service was outstanding and attentive , and prices correct. One minor point , In terms of originality ( and those who have been in vietnam) it falls a bit short , but nevertheless it should not deviate too much from the french tastebuds to appeal clients ... Mine consisted of greens, radicchio, carrots, green beans, asparagus, tomatoes, scallions, chives, and something I couldn't identify that was flat, white, round, kind of tasted like water chestnuts, and had the consistency of a firm mozarella. (Anyone know what this is? Please enlighten me!) I would have asked but the waitstaff seemed a bit busy... Which brings me to the downsides. My husband and I had intended to sup at another restaurant that ended up being closed for congé annuel. We crossed the river, got caught in a rainstorm, and took refuge under an awning. When I realized we were close to Le Jardin de Berthe (which I keep hearing rave reviews about from vegans on facebook), I suggested we try it. We rolled in (literally - we were pushing a stroller), half-dripping wet and looking a bit confused at the layout of what I thought was going to be a casual cafe. The waitress who approached us asked if we had a reservation. (Oops, no we did not.) After some logistical discussion between three of the staff, they decided they could seat us. (Hooray!) Our waiter (thankfully not the girl, who was visibly frustrated that we A) did not have a reservation and B) were obviously not native French speakers) helped me carry the stroller down some steep steps and showed us to a table for two. It was against the wall and the only place to put the stroller was directly in front of the table, blocking the waiter from getting very close. I didn't see any highchairs and we weren't offered one so maybe this isn't the best place for kids. The waiter was nice enough but obviously in a bit of a hurry so we felt rushed. I don't know if it was because we had a baby in a stroller, because we didn't have a reservation, or both. (Or maybe it was just the self-consciousness of new parents adjusting to eating with a baby who makes noise? Lots of variables.) Anywho, I ordered the salad and my husband ordered a ravioli dish with cream and bacon and - seriously - a quarter of a wheel of what we think was reblochon. He couldn't finish his either because it was so heavy but he enjoyed it! The rest of the vegetarian menu was not very impressive but I suppose the fact that they have a vegetarian menu at all should impress me. (And it does!) Other options were the ravioli dish sans bacon, a soy "steak", and a veggie burger (which sounded like the soy "steak" on a bun with some veggies.) I definitely recommend the salad, as the vegetables were high quality, in season, and super tasty. The dressing was good too - not the usual yellow French dressing but something a little fancier. (It definitely included mustard though, as usual.) We'll probably go back (with a reservation) and give the waitstaff and the other items on the menu a second chance. I'll update my review then.

This place is redefining what the term "salad" means…read more Possibly the largest salads I've ever had in my life. They're seriously the size of a small child. The vegetarian salad is delicious - lots of beets, asparagus, hearts of palm, carrots (done in that oh-so-delicious French style that I can never seem to replicate), and about every other kind of veggie you can imagine. Okay, this one actually is kind of salad-like. The ravioli salads, on the other hand, are just intense. Delicious, but crazy. Don't get one of those thinking you're being healthy...it just ain't happening. That being said, the salade sicilienne is freakin yummy. Ravioli, tomato sauce, bacon, AND a poached egg all on top of a huge salad. Yes, please! About 10 euros each, maybe a little more. I know it seems pricey for some greens, but these are worth it for sure. Go for lunch + go early - it gets super crowded, especially at dinner.

They have a lunch menu where you pick things off a buffet and they fry them up together Mongolian Grill - style. Vegetarians rejoice: finally a spicy (or not - your preference) wok dish with tofu and as many vegetables as you want! There are appetizers on the buffet: vegetarian egg rolls (though admittedly, not very many vegetables in them - mostly they were the fried wrappers), salad, and a vegetable soup with spinach, tomato, egg, and noodles. (And possibly some other things? I kind of inhaled the soup. It was great.) For the non-vegetarians, there are meaty egg rolls and huge spring rolls with shrimp, plus some other options I didn't ask about since, you know, meat. For the main dish, you pick out what you want and put it on a plate. I went with broccoli, two types of mushrooms, baby bok choy, and cabbage. (There were at least 5 or 6 different meats to choose from also.) The tofu was not on the buffet but the server said they could add some in the back. You choose your own sauce: I went with piquante (naturally). She asked how spicy I wanted it, and I said "not very" because I wanted to share with my almost one-year-old. The last option is: rice or noodles. I chose noodles. They grilled it up for us and my plate came out beautifully: vegetables and tofu in a spicy (yay!) sauce, with noodles (and a bit of mushroom and green onion) on the side. It was delicious. We ended with coffee which was okay. But I don't want to end my review on an "okay" note. The waitress was so incredibly nice. She chatted with us a bunch and even held my daughter so I could eat! (The baby girl wasn't feeling well so of course she wanted to be in mommy's lap - not very conducive to eating, especially when chopsticks are involved!) She walked her around the restaurant and distracted her with the aquarium and other decor. What a sweet lady! This place is going on my "regular" list. If you like good Chinese, I suggest you give it a try!
