Dealing with two different companies for any reason can be a frustrating experience however, the people Twin Cities Endodontics have been very helpful with my busy work schedule and exceptionally accommodating to my situation. I have to say that I have hated going to the dentist since I was a kid, but my experience with these guys has actually restored the appreciation, comfortability, trust that I was lacking. So with that said, I would recommend this place to anyone in need of dental work "root canal" especially, to give these guys a try.

Believe me, root canals aren't easy! Imagine snaking a .6mm clogged drain, upside down, looking through a mirror. Not to mention people are terrified of getting root canals, but the horror stories you hear are of the toothache that made you need one, not the actual procedure. Yes, we dentists are creepily noisy, it's hard holding your mouth open, etc, but the procedure was completely painless and afterwards, I had some nice hot coffee, and later some ice water, forgetting that I no longer had to contort my tongue to cover up my previously painful tooth! I smiled and said a silent thank you to Dr. Zucker and team!! Now I'm shouting it out on Yelp.

Basil had to go from years of teeth grinding. My dentist was horrified that I suggested he pull them all. He had an appointment with Dr. Zhong (like Joan). He had no problem with the procedure. This was around $2000 with no insurance. There was an odd miscommunication as to the type of filling that was put in, just a temporary and he ended up getting a permanent one the next day. I was very impressed with the office itself. The building is shared with mostly lawyers. Jess at the front desk was so friendly. Our main concern was that he would be able to eat turkey in a couple of days. It was all smooth sailing and a soft lunch at Key's Cafe to finish it off.

I saw this Dr bc of a genuine dental emergency. I could barely talk or swallow. Gabr just told me I would feel better in a couple days if I stayed on the antibiotics I was given by urgent care. He was rude and terse the entire time, and seemed to resent me when I asked questions. A couple days later, I was not improving. I could barely open my mouth. I couldn't eat or drink. I called him (he was near impossible to reach and you could hear the resentment in his voice that a lowly patient was wasting his time). I was set to leave imminently for a week in the Dominican Republic. I was agonizing over canceling my trip bc I was not improving. When I called, I asked him what the likelihood was that I would have a dental emergency on my trip. I swear to God, he said "I can't tell you one way or another." Not wanting to take the risk, I ended up canceling my trip. Travel Insurance required an explanation via a letter from him. He wrote that he reassured me that I COULD go on my trip. A bold faced LIE. I finally went back to my regular dentist and got the right antibiotics thank god. If I had followed Gabr's advice as described in his letter, I would be alone in the Dominican Republic in agony with an even worse dental emergency. Also, my insurance didn't cover the visit so that's $600 down the drain. He's a liar, treats his patients with resentment, and a bad doctor who doesn't know what he's doing. The one good thing about this place is that the receptionist, Jessalyn, is very nice. That's it. Otherwise, if you want to throw your money down the drain, be treated like vermin, get the wrong prognosis, get the absolute minimum care, and have a doctor lie and try to screw you over, this is the place for you.

Also many dentist's have worked in my mouth. From my childhood dentist Dr. Marvin (PD Silver Lake), to the late Dr. Kaatz (crowns and fillings), to Dr. Lutterman (crown) and currently Dr. Nguyen (crown and nightguard). I don't mind anesthetic but the vibration of the "drill" is annoying. They let me bring in my own earphones so I can listen to music while they are working. My last couple of appointments seem to fly by. And Dr. Nguyen is so kind and compassionate. And gentle when giving anesthetic...I didn't even feel it. She cares about doing quality work and made sure I was happy with the feel of my new crown/ nightguard. At my last crown visit they used a silicone suction device that kept my tongue and cheek out of the way. It also gave me something to bite on so my mouth wouldn't get tired from staying open. That was awesome! As much as I don't want dental work, I would like for that to be used again if needed. I have already recommended this clinic (and other locations of this company) to friends and family. They all seem to be satisfied with the care they receive too!

She's personable and has a soft touch with a scraper. It was my first time here. I checked in, and electronically signed some standard (or what I thought were standard) consent forms. The receptionist had the hard copies on the counter, briefly explained what each form was, and I signed an electronic pad. This is at the heart of my issue with this business. After I E-signed, she also gave me some additional hard copy forms to look over and sign. They were standard medical background forms. When I was done with my appointment, what I'm guessing was the billing dept told me that I owed $10. My insurance covers all costs incurred in annual exams, so this surprised me. I asked what the charge was for and she just said "PPE fees". I asked what those were, and she shortly replied, "For the Personal Protective Equipment... Did you sign the form? Yes, you did sign it." When she mentioned a form, I assumed I had missed something on the paperwork I had been given and just decided to pay it. I left, with $10 less in my pocket, a future appointment in June, and a request for an estimate for a night guard and a crown with my insurance company. When I got in my car, I realized that the "form" that I had signed about PPE fees was probably one of the forms I signed electronically. I'll admit, the receptionist mentioned my responsibility for charges not covered by insurance (which seems to be a pretty standard statement), but she never mentioned a PPE fee. Why wasn't I given hard copies of the forms that I had signed electronically? I'm guessing, because buried somewhere in those forms is the explanation of the PPE charges. Pretty deceptive if you ask me. I'm angry at myself for paying. When I walked out of the office, I had a few thousand dollars in future business lined up for Midwest Dental. They lost that business over a greedy $10 PPE fee. Talk about taking advantage during a pandemic. The $400 dollars that you got from my insurance company wasn't enough? When I called to cancel my insurance estimate and my future appointment, I was asked why. I told Megan--I believe it was Megan, that I didn't think a $10 fee was helpful in building a long term relationship. Instead of explaining why the fee was necessary, she just mentioned that other places were charging $20. She was short and unpleasant on the phone.

Everyone is extremely friendly and loves chatting with patients when they're up for it. (Pro tip: Talk about food. They LOVE to try new foods and share their foodie experiences.) I've visited here for a total of 3-4 times over one year, and I like how seriously they take their work here. During checkups, the doctor informs me of ways to improve my brushing and the spots that might need more attention. Something that's super simple, but I've never been told by a dentist what spots I haven't been reaching. Besides checkups, I also had a mouthguard fitted because I constantly clench my teeth when I'm stressed. It was a pain-free process, and they checked my insurance coverage and gave me a quoted price before initiating the whole process. Their communication is amazing and there was no confusion. I'm really sad that I can no longer go to Snelling Ave Dental because I moved out-of-state recently, but I'm so happy that I was able to find a dentist that I was satisfied with.

I had to change insurance and check in with them a few times to make sure I was covered and after that scheduling has been smooth sailing. My teeth cleaning went well, the hygienist Debbie told me a lot about my mouth and teeth that no one ever mentioned to me. They then got me scheduled to fix a crack in one of my fillings the following week. That appointment also went well, it was the most comfortable dental work I've ever had done - I didn't feel a thing other than the novacaine injections which they even numbed beforehand. They have mentioned doing something like Invisalign due to my crowding which is something that has never been a concern of mine, I trust they're being honest since I have a little snaggletooth, never had braces and my teeth are indeed tight. Dr Steve gave me a rough estimate and run down of how their process works and it's probably something I'll return for when I have the funds since it will help my future self. They play HGTV in the lobby and most dental rooms which is a nice distraction! It's a big place for only two doctors.

I had never had one before, and had no idea what to expect. On top of that, I have some pretty intense dental phobia from bad past dental experiences, so I usually take Valium the night before and morning of dental procedures. NGL, it was not my favorite way to spend a morning, but he and his staff were so caring and patient, they made the experience easier than I ever would have imagined. So I am going to stick with this Dentist office, even though scheduling time for cleanings is nearly impossible if you miss an appointment. The ability to put me at ease during a procedure is a rare quality, and worth any inconveniences I might have going forward.
