Go for a swim, chill, or just take a long walk along the shoreline as this beach caters to anyone's needs. This lively place has it all; beach bars, families building sandcastles, and people parasailing/riding jetskis. There are so many seafood spots nearby too and there's even a pontoon rental or tours to the beautiful Shell Island, which I unfortunately missed out on but won't be making that mistake the next time around. Panama City Beach is a mix of perfect sand and warm temps. Yes it's that spring break spot so great for college students during that time and I'd probably steer clear during that time of the year but any of other time of the year it's the place to be for everyone else!

We were never bothered by anyone as long as we remained quiet during the late hours. Beach Access 11 is easy to reach but can get crowded, especially during the morning and evening hours, particularly during spring break when many people are enjoying the beach. The best time to visit is early morning when it's less crowded. If you want to avoid the crowds, it's best to go at night when hardly anyone is around; I recommend it. Keep in mind that this beach access is next to houses, so parking will likely be difficult if you don't arrive early.

I was able to enjoy my cup of coffee to the tune of crashing waves and the sound of seagulls. Amazing!! I'm not the biggest fan of sand for obvious reasons. It literally gets everywhere!!! Ha ha - it's so pretty though! My only regret is not coming here sooner during our trip. I will definitely return as I really liked the location in general. The Sunset Cruise was a blast with more Dolphins than I have ever seen, and I have been on several. The Dolphin Snorkel tour was wonderful. Brian took us to 2 different snorkel spots. After that we went on a great ride, learning some history of the area and after a bit of searching we got more dolphins, with one swimming right in front of the boat. I highly recommend both trips. It would be great if Brian's boat was cleared for going out into the Gulf.

Still, I did a day hike on Gator Trail with THE Mr. Freckles McWolfington, and we had a blast. He wasn't happy about being stuck on leash, but it IS called Gator Trail for a reason. When we got back to the trailhead, we walked over to the little deck and were treated to a terrifying growl from what was either the biggest gator in Florida or a T-Rex, we weren't sure. First time hearing a gator growl - it was so freaking cool. If you get a chance, come out for a walk and some time on the beach - no dogs allowed, though (don't tell Freki I called him a dog, please).

We split it up like this due to extending our trip midway. U2: You can tell the owner of this unit wanted to give it a nice update. The flooring seems new, there is a really nice tv with Roku set up in the living room. Overall, seemed very modern and new touches all around. But, we had a 3rd party maintenance man walk in on us at 10 am (we were still in bed not dressed). & the toilets were both on the fritz while we were there. We put in a maintenance request and no one responded. There was a hole in the shower that they used duct tape to "fix." O3: instantly upon walking in we noticed the decor was a bit older but that was no big deal to us. The dishes in the kitchen all have a significant amount of dried food on them. This includes silverware, serving spoons, plates, bowls etc. The mattresses are so worn out that we couldn't get comfortable. These are two bedroom units so we slept in the 2nd bedroom with two twin beds (on our honeymoon!!!) because it was more comfortable. I can see other people complaining about how much older the decor is but for us it is the functionality or lack there of that is discouraging. On top of that I can see people assuming that the quality of the stay would be similar across the board and it is not. Common areas for Portside: The pool is really nice. It has a passcode entry. It was really nice having the pool almost completely to ourselves in September. There is a drink machine beside it. There's a tennis court. Parking is great. Lady at the Portside office was nice and accommodating. House keeping: terrible. They didn't vacuum. The dishes were dirty. We had to be out of the unit from 10 am - 4 pm when we swapped and during that time I can't help but wonder what house keeping does aside from washing the towels and bed sheets (which were great).

Panhandle Getaways knew we would have no golf cart and that was never communicated to us. They told us three days into our trip there would be no golf cart and did not offer anything to make up for it. They could have rented one for us but no one ever offered that. We have asked to be refunded the amount of money it would have cost to rent a 6 person golf cart and keep asking for a phone call from a manager but it's been crickets. This company has the worst customer service I have experienced and I don't recommend them and will never use them again. Beware when booking your trip.

Barges and boats will dock here and there is frequently a concession boat since the island has no amenities. A little walk towards the gulf will bring you midway to a "kiddie pool" safe for kids to swim and play in or adults to relax. The water is truly great in both those spots. The gulf here is absolutely beautiful. There are small intact and crushed shells on the beach line and in the water about knee deep there are medium shells if you dig around. Waist deep are where the large shells are. There are plenty of these but you have to work for them. Bring goggles, flippers, etc. and it will be easy. We went on a day when the jelly larva were swarming so we stayed knee deep and still enjoyed ourselves and got a few good shells. If there had been no jellies we could have found A LOT more and bigger ones for sure. The further you walk down the gulf side the more secluded you will be. Get there on first boat out!

We have boats back home so know how to operate them well and we were very disappointed we were sent out in the ocean with a cracked motor. The boat also had battery issues as well if my dad had not had prior boat experience we would have been stranded. As much money as these are you would think they would be in pristine condition.
