I took specific sessions for the neck and then for the knee. I could get both issues resolved. At OPTM, patient progress is reviewed and recorded on every visit and compared to the problem assessment done during the first visit. A periodic review is conducted by another therapist to ensure unbiased feedback. The system at OPTM Saratoga is simple, friendly, and focused. Entire credit for this clockwise precision goes to the Clinic Director, Benjamin Turner. It is his leadership which has been instrumental in ensuring professionalism at every step. I found all at OPTM are kind, courteous, and respectful. Ms Emerald is at the reception, and she, along with the other staff, ensures that patient scheduling and check-ins are to the satisfaction of each patient. I had struggled with knee pain for over five years without proper treatment due to the pandemic and insurance issues, so I was very encouraged by the progress I made under her care. After about three months, I was able to return to light running and felt better than I had in years. Unfortunately, midway through my recovery, I developed Achilles pain--a normal setback as Shea explained. She adjusted my program, and with another three months of treatment I felt strong again, with both my knee and Achilles finally improving. However, just before Shea's maternity leave, her intern increased the intensity of my exercises with a combination of Bulgarian split squats, Nordics, Copenhagen planks, and plyometric jumps. This pushed me far beyond what my knee could tolerate, resulting in a painful setback and significant swelling--essentially undoing months of progress. While I was devastated, I didn't blame Shea or the intern, as I knew the intention was to help. I still believed in the program and wanted to continue treatment. When Shea left, she referred me to Ben. In our first session, he identified posture issues and asymmetries in my range of motion, giving me two exercises that initially seemed to help. However, when I returned three weeks later, the tone of treatment completely changed. After I explained that a short session on the elliptical triggered a flare-up, Ben dismissed my concerns, saying, "Even an old woman can do 10 minutes on the elliptical," and suggested I see a doctor instead. I explained that doctors had found nothing structurally wrong with my knee and that physical therapy had been the only effective treatment. He then told me that there is nothing wrong with me contrary to his initial assessment and that he treats "sick people" and I'm healthy and he therefore will discharge me. I left that session shocked, in pain, and extremely disappointed. Not only did I feel dismissed, but I also felt there was a complete lack of compassion or professionalism. Despite always showing respect and gratitude for my therapists, I was met with arrogance and indifference at a time when I was still struggling and seeking help. While I am grateful for Shea's excellent care and the progress I made with her, my experience with Ben was profoundly discouraging and left me questioning the quality and consistency of treatment at OPTM Saratoga.

When new or old symptoms pop up, she addresses them head on with a treatment plan. I originally saw her at her previous clinic but was seen recently in her "new" location. It's absolutely lovely - warm and inviting just like the doctor and staff!
