What can I say about Encore Dance Theatre?! Actually, I can probably write a 2,000 word essay about how amazing they are, but I'll keep it short and sweet! After trying out three other studios when my daughter was younger, and having bad experiences at all three, we finally stumbled into Encore! (after a friend had been after me for all 3 years telling me to go to Encore) My first experience, I went by myself in person and met Ms. Anne, the owner, and Ms. Marlee. From the moment I walked into the door, I was greeted with a warm and loving smile from both of them and they took their time to explain everything to me and answer all questions I had. I felt welcomed and as part of the family since day one! Now, fast forward 8 years later, my daughter will begin her 1st season with Encore's Elite Company Team and I couldn't be more ecstatic...her too of course! My daughter has not only grown into a beautiful dancer in her years of being at Encore, but she has also built amazing friendships, which I know will continue to grow, and has developed into a beautiful and respectful young lady! if I could give minus 5 stars I would give, previously I made a post, saying that the site is overpriced, they charge you a member fee that does not include anything, they do a recital at the end of the school year, (it is not mandatory) but who is going to practice for a whole year and in the end they don't participate in the recital, even if they don't participate they basically lose a portion of the class and money because they take part of the class to practice the recital. Which I repeat is overpriced, they sell you the recital package that includes the t-shirt for the end of the show and the digital video of the show. But for parents who pay for 2 classes are 2 shows, that's fine, I decided to pay him, it's my decision. but in the end when it was time to pick up the shirt for the end of the show, they only give you 1 when they charge you for 2, in my case 2 shows, I imagine the same thing happens with parents who pay for 3 or more shows. The fee I'm talking about is charged months before the end of the year. whether to know if the child is going to return or not. But the most serious thing in my case, the stuff didn't like my post and they want to force me to delete my post, or else they won't accept my daughter. This post is personal and does not reflect the opinion of my daughter. so they violate my constitutional right granted in the first amendment and also discriminate against my daughter for my opinion. Do not trust the qualification of this academy because if they did it to me, threatening to remove the post, maybe other parents too, just so that their daughter is happy and can practice what our children like. read more

I can't speak enough praise of encore dance theatre. They have taught my child confidence, discipline and determination. I came after having an awful experience at another studio in sunrise and it has been wonderful ever since. The safety measures put in place since Covid have brought a new level of stellar. We have been dancing at Encore for 5 years now and I have been a backstage mom for all of those years. This week we had our 2020 recital reimagined. Due to Covid we were not able to have it in the typical way, in an auditorium, with all our friends and family in attendance. Some studios canceled their recitals, leaving routines unfinished and just doing zoom calls to finish out the season. Encore was not going to be one of those studios. Owner and director Anne Brodsky and her staff were determined their dancers were going to showcase their hard work and did what everyone thought was impossible! Their creativity to finish the dances over zoom and reimagine what the recital could be given the COVID restrictions, was just truly magic. It was a long week for this dance mom, but the end result was so worth it. The effort it must have taken her team to coordinate the setting, schedule and live stream the event since we could only have two guests per dancer, made it still feel seamless and inclusive. They even built in time to take pictures in the "celebration room", all while social distancing, wearing our masks and maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene throughout. They will even broadcast the event in it's entirety later this summer for friends and family to experience a cohesive event. There were so many little touches that made this year's recital so very special. Even more amazing was what we got to see that we don't in the usual chaos of a typical recital. Since we weren't in the usual throws of backstage Mom mania or sitting quietly in the audience, we got to witness how Anne's Faculty, Staff and even Alumni and their parents, were all there volunteering their time and pitching in. It was heartwarming to see the bond her Alumni, some several years in college, still have with each other. How her teachers and staff feel about her and the follower-ship she so humbly commands. My job is to develop leaders and I know great leadership when I see it. The family she has built and continues to build is something truly special. It's more than just a place to learn dance. It is a family we are proud to be a part of for many years to come. read more

I couldn't be happier with Encore my daughter started dancing there at 3 and we are on our 6th year. She takes 4 classes a week tap hip hop acro and jazz its a loving and caring environment. My daughter has been part of the Encore Dance Theatre family since she was 3 years old. We have had almost every teacher and they are all fantastic. From the moment she had her first class she was hooked. The studio has helped teach her discipline, focus and dedication. Mrs. Anne and her staff are always available when my daughter needs someone to talk to and it has become her second home. It is wonderful to know that when you drop your child off they feel safe and comfortable. During COVID they have found ways to make parents feel comfortable and keep the children safe. Encore Dance in Sunrise, FL is a great dance school for your girls and boys. The teachers are very kind and loving as well as experienced and knowledgable. The students are polite and caring. Prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the students have great relationships like family. My daughter has been a student there for going on 4 years (she started at 2 1/2 yo) and she loves it. All the teachers and administration are nice, friendly and helpful. I don't live around the corner but I would drive from Boca to go there because of the friendly atmosphere and amazing work. They treat your kids like their own. I attended Encore's dance team for over 10 years, and I can honestly say I wish I had gone somewhere else. Besides Anne Brodsky, the studio is sadly not good. The studio is run by the amount of money in parent's pockets, and the attitudes of the girls. The drama in the studio is beyond anything imaginable, there is not one day where an issue doesn't arise. Drama is found everywhere, but nothing like at Encore. Even the mothers got into huge fights, it was really bad.Besides the drama, the studio is not run fairly at all. If you are not the absolute best dancer or have a ton money, you will not go far. I competed against many other studios, and Encore is far from the best. There are a lot of studios in Miami that are much more professional and successful. Lorraine does not know how to run a far, professional dance studio, so it is good Anne is now the owner. Unless you have extremely tough skin, have a lot of money, or are not planning to compete, don't go here. Don't be fooled by the fake smiles and advertising, I promise you it's not real. Believe me, I wasted 14 years of my life going here. And I know many people that would agree with me. Btw the rating below mine has a child too young therefore, she is probably not in the company yet so she hasn't witnessed what I have. read more
