If you work a standard schedule, it's nearly impossible to enjoy the pool on weekdays, and even on weekends, the early closing cuts short what could be the best part of a summer evening. For the price they charge, it's frustrating and feels like a rip-off. This place could be amazing if they simply extended their hours to match the season. Until then, it's hard to justify the cost.

I'm not alone in observing this. A group of us have been trying to avoid Mike. The staff I've known for quite some time either feel the same way or just silently smirked (for fear of getting in trouble). Unless Wave replaces this good for nothing manager with someone that actually has some minimal basic decency as a human being, let alone sufficient enough be the manager of a reputable gym in Seaport, members and its staff will rush out and seek the many other gyms in the area.

I wanted to come and see just how upscale this Fitness Center is. To my surprise, it was super clean and spacious, with state of the art equipment, spa quality facilities, plenty of open training space including an indoor swimming pool. One of the reasons I have this love hate relationship with gyms in general is how filthy dirty it can get. Just to know the feeling of how immaculately clean is a major plus for me. This is a full service fitness center that is located in the Seaport Hotel allowing hotel guests complimentary access. This is what I would call a gym for the Elite! All in all, it's a great place with amazing views of the surrounding Seaport District. I just hope people respect the place enough to help maintain its look and keep it clean.

In one forced personal training session while doing pushups, he said "I should be able to see your cleavage." We were later told it wasn't clear to anyone if he had his personal training certificate. Regardless, just a weird and inappropriate thing to say to ladies just minding their own business. He continued to just hang around creepily, sometimes butting in mid-sprint to ask random questions. In the end, my friends and I ended up cancelling our memberships because of the owner. I was able to bow out after a month, but my friend who had joined after new ownership had to pay a ridiculous penalty for breaking the contract. Who did we need to complain to in order to avoid the fine? The owner. So my friend just ended up eating the money. If you're a woman who loves the gym as a break from the drama, I'd suggest going somewhere else.

There just hasn't been a review of the Curtis Hall Community Center in quite a while, and I thought it would be helpful to update. I'm training for a triathlon and needed an affordable place to swim 1-2 times a week. I I've gone swimming here a couple of times and I'm very happy with the swimming facilities. The locker room is.. a locker room. It seems well maintained and clean, which is all I can really ask for. The showers do turn off approximately every 30 seconds or so, but it's not a huge problem. The pool is 25 yards, and there are three lanes. I've only been in the early morning, but the most people I've seen at the pool at one time is 9 (3 per lane) and that worked out just fine. The gentleman who works at the front desk in the morning is friendly, and very helpful. He allowed me to try out the pool a couple of times before joining, which was really nice. The cost to join is $30 a year and there is a $2 per use cost for the pool. However, you can buy a card that gives you 7 uses for $10 -- well worth it if you ask me. I have no problem paying to help to support a community center. I will take a look at the rest of the facility one day when I'm not in a rush to get to work.

My membership is discounted due to being an alum but they also offer discounts for employees of Longwood Medical Area. I use the pool a few times and week and have always been happy with the lap times available and the maintenance of the pool. The Sports Center has the standard feel of any collegiate gym meaning the basics are there, they see a lot of use and it's not fancy. The place is well taken care of, the staff are very nice and they also have swim lessons available. The pool is great and the membership is very reasonable. I definitely recommend it!
