I chose RJT because of their strong reference list, and the enthusiasm/trustworthiness of its owner, Rob Tell. We took bids from a few other contractors, but honestly, many of them were dismissive, or inaccessible. Rob showed up on time, was well educated, has a clear and demonstrable resume from top tier educational institutions, and most of all, was willing to teach me, not tell me, what needed to be done. The scope of our project was as follows: - Renovated full bathroom - Ripped out 3,000 sqft of flooring, and replaced with new hardwoods - Painted entire house interior - Replaced lighting in 7 rooms in the house, including putting in new overhead lights The team was extremely attentive and communicative. Rob continued to be strong throughout the process, always texting or emailing me back immediately. Most importantly, my wife was happy, because she really liked Rob's down to earth perspective. I'm really happy with how everything looks and delighted with a job well done.

My husband and I hired him to install a roof antenna - he was very thoughtful about the best way to do the installation and took care to make sure it was done safely and with the most minimal impact on sight lines both on the exterior of the house and inside our den. He also took care of helping fix up a caulking job in the bathroom that was not properly done by someone before him--again with precision and care. And he helped us install our new mailbox. He is our first stop for all things general contracting, and he's great about referrals if one is needed. He is prompt with returning calls and providing guidance. Highly recommend!

If I could have, there would be NO stars…read more They were the first name given to us by our insurance company to clean up a catastrophe in February. Our pergola on the deck tore away from the siding, taking the siding with it, trashing our deck due to snow damage. All Shawn came to "clean up" the debris two days later. There was still snow on the deck and they placed my table and eight chairs on top of each other on snow that was still to melt - the chairs cost about $1,000 each. They had no regard for our personal property. As the snow melted, the chairs shifted and some fell, causing damage. They pushed some snow off the deck and left it too close to the deck. The day after they left, the weather warmed up and the rain that was expected came. We have never had water in our basement - all of a sudden we had water coming in. As it turns out, the pile they left was now melting and had nowhere else to go, so it was coming into my basement. My son & his friend plowed & shoveled to push the snow away from the house and make a path for the snow to melt away from the house, but could niot touch the All Shawn pile - there were too many small pieces of debris, nails etc... left in the pile. It was too dangerous. All Shawn was made to come back and deal with the debris filled snow pile. They were so haphazard, careless, about it, that my husband had to go out and guide/help to get it done properly. I would not recommend this company. I did not have them come back to do the construction work to rebuild.

As a homeowner I also appreciated that they help with relieving homeowners of high interest toxic debts.

Let me set the tone -…read more It snowed again - we had just finished remodeling our bedroom - I went to put the blinds down when I noticed water dripping from the top of the bedroom windows. What the??? We had an ice dam and we had no idea how big it was since we couldn't get a good look (with over a foot of snow on the ground). Looked online and found Power Seal. We called after 9pm and the owner answered. Made an appointment the following day for removal. He himself came to the house. Told me he was short staffed and had to do the work himself. Right then and there I knew we were going to have good service. 3 hours later our ice dam was ice free and clear. Highly recommended !

BEWARE! Proceed with caution!!!!!Don't be fooled by Mark Cassas' charm. His true self doesn't stay…read morehidden for long. I will give credit where credit is due his team did a nice job on my siding and roof replacement but after spending tens of thousands of dollars and signing a contract to remodel my kitchen, put in new staircases and hardwood floors throughout my house (that's where I went wrong and the stress began) he offered to redo the roof on my small shed for $450. $450 for something that would have taken 30 mins to do. Really? His team was there, he had the extra material and all the business we contracted him to do he couldn't afford one concession? As we move into the interior remodel things get progressively worse. I could write a book about all the wrong doings but here are some excerpts of the most unbelievable occurrences: Note: you will notice that all communication with Mark was via text as he was never onsite and believe it or not he never even came to see the finished job. The texts are another story, I can't believe that a service provider would say the nastiest, obnoxious thing in writing. I have a huge file - you never know when you may need evidence 1) We agreed on a price to replace my existing flooring in 5 rooms and replace with hardwood floors. Which to me means rip up existing flooring, level and prep floor and lay new flooring. Well it didn't mean that same thing to him. He charged me more $ to remove the existing hardwood floor before lay the new floor (which I paid) and then wanted to charge me more $ to level the floor after he removed the ceramic tiles (which after an unprofessional, nasty ping pong of texts I refused to pay) 2). I wanted my pendant lights centered over my island which the carpenter sketched out on the sub flooring. Well the electrician he contracted missed the mark by 4 1/2" lengthwise and width wise. When I texted him about it he questioned my credibility and said "weren't you there when he was doing the work? ". I guess he thought I should be the acting contractor and pay him for my services. And he demonstrated annoyance about having to fix the problem now that the ceiling was already installed. He viewed this as being my fault. 3. After the hardwood floors and cabinets were installed he installed the kick heater under the kitchen sink cabinet instead of having a plumber do it (cutting corners). Well it sprung a leak that went unnoticed for 2 day; warping the floor. As a result everything had to be deinstalled, new floor ordered and installed - delaying completion a week. 4. Per our contract he was to buy the paint and paint the new kitchen. Since the adjoining room needed to be painted he offered to paint them as well. His painter suddenly become ill so instead of hiring another painter by trade he had a non-trade person paint - he didn't sparkle any hole and when I questioned it he had to text Mark before patching the holes. Mark told him to take pics of the hole because he was only responsible for the new walks he installed so if the hole were in the adjoining rooms he was not going to fix them. What?? If you offer to do a job should you do it properly - I don't think that's unreasonable. Well the guy did it anyway but it was an unnecessary argument. Also I should add the guy showed up with 1 can of ceiling paint - no drop clothes or paint brushes. I had to buy the paint and provide the tools. As per our contract Mark was supposed to install my new staircases, finish the treads and banisters and sparkle/paint the risers (which he charged me extra for). He installed the staircases, and hired someone to finish the treads but didn't sparkle and paint the riser - I had to do it myself and certainly didn't get a refund. When the guy who finished the stair treads he scratched the newly installed wrought iron balusters. When I texted Mark about it he responded with "give me a break with your scratches". In the end 7 balusters has to be replaced and he had to pay.
