It's unfortunate people judge a spiritual business based on things that are based in fear and not driven by anything spiritual at all. Especially that one from Michigan? Doubt you've actually visited the store. How insane.
That being said, as Cherokee woman myself (not Elizabeth Warren Cherokee, but actual registered, active part of my tribe) I'm so happy there's a place that welcomes those that aren't colonized in their spirituality. It's great to see folx of all backgrounds and many POCs welcomed in a place where we all can learn from each other and share our love for energy, how it works, how we can allow it to work for us as individuals and how to carry pass that into generations following.
When I entered this space the energy is bright and loving. Full of light. That's not to say those who enter in a shadow phase aren't welcomed, quite the opposite. You're welcomed in wholly in whatever state you enter. Energy is something I pay attention to and those who are more worried about a mask need to take that energy to learn to be accountable for their own soul before judging such a petty thing that is only representative of how fear-led and codependent society insists on being... And if you choose to wear a mask, that's welcomed too because if your mask works, then you shouldn't be concerned about what anyone else is doing, correct?
I digress on the pettiness of others, because the selection of goods at E&O is fantastic. Whether you consider yourself pagan, a hoodoo priestess, or spiritual, there's space to practice and something you may be drawn. PLUS all products are from small businesses with local makers being added consistently. That's a HUGE plus in my book. ANNNNDDD they have a beautiful soul who does energy drawings, reiki, oracle readings and MORE!! If you're looking for that metaphysical shop that feels good to visit, I have a good feeling this may be the space for you.
A suburb with a majority colonized perspective NEEDS a space like this where cookie-cutter is NOT the norm and varied perspectives are appreciated. The above was my perception after one visit. I can't wait to be back!
Blessings, prosperity and protection to all who enter "Enchantments and Oddities" with good intention. May all those who wish harm on this sacred space, its owners or anyone who patronizes this business experience the Rule of 3 in all its vigor. Asé, Blessed be, And so it is. read more
