Captain John is Awesome! Such a pleasure from the beginning to the end. Booked the sail early August for September 7th. John's communication through out the process was excellent. Unfortunately, due to whether we couldn't sail on our original date, but there was John!! He called me right away to re-schedule us and it end up being the perfect day. My husband and I are so excited we did this. Very relaxing and such a joy. Enjoyed the history, stories, and laughter. First, I went on this trip expecting to have a good time, and I had a great time. Captain John communicated with me before the trip to make sure we knew what to expect. He offered to grab food for our dinner cruise from a chain, but due to proximity and suggestions from friends, we decided to get supper from Snooky's, and it was good. I've never sailed before and this charter was a birthday present from my husband. Captain John asked if I'd like to help on the boat, and I DID. He let me hoist the main sail, steer the ship, help dock, and put away the sails. He taught me proper sailing terminology, but I've forgotten it. Sorry Captain John! The rest of my crowd sat back, enjoying the wine, food, and sea. We shared music (What was the name of the group you played for us?), had a beautiful sunset, and a peaceful, calm evening. It was exactly the escape I needed! I stood at the bow of the ship when we got into some waves between the ocean and inland waterway. It was thrilling, like the best roller coaster ever! After my experience with Enchanted Sailing Charters, I've decided instead of traveling the world when I retire, I want to sail it. It was an awesome trip. As far as Covid goes, Captain John told me up front that he and his deck hand (Jeff, who was awesome too! Shout out to the best millionaire deck hand ever.) would be wearing masks and it would be up to our group if we wore masks or not. We chose not to. He also provided hand sanitizer. Social distancing wasn't really on option on a sailboat, but their concessions to the new protocols were very good, and their number one priority was to make us feel safe. Captain John, if you ever need a completely inexperienced, but very willing deck hand, give me a call. I'd love to sail with you. We struggled to find a good weather day but finally depended on the Captain's intuition and the trip was delightful. He is experienced and skilled in the sailing world and he loves it which makes a positive difference for everyone. The sailboat is well maintained and very solid/safe and a pleasure to ride in. Captain John provides some snacks while he explains the history past and present of the area, and pointing out Vanna White's house. I had an 8AM-11AM charter with Captain John to disperse my parents' ashes in the ocean. I was running late, trying to get two teenagers moving plus picking up family that flew in the night before that were still on central time. I called to apologies and let John know we were running late, and we showed up at the boat around 8:45AM. Had John simply told me and my family when we arrived that there wasn't enough time remaining to get out far enough to disperse ashes, that he'd refund half out cash and help us find a boat that could help us out, I wouldn't be writing this review and he'd have $375. But that's not what happened. As we approached the boat and I apologized again, John said "Oh that's fine, I'll just make you wait an hour and waste your time." I figured he was joking and laughed and said something like "That seems fair... you know how it is getting teenagers rolling." He then came down off the boat while beginning to lecture me about wasting his time, about the effort he had put in that morning cutting flowers and making breakfast for us. At a certain point I said "Wait, your serious?" as I was so surprised that a guy I was paying $750 to take us out to disperse ashes was actually talking to me (a paying customer!) this way. While he was beginning his tirade, his helper, an elderly woman who, I was informed, had to miss a funeral to be there that morning, was saying "Captain... captain..." It was clear that she also knew at that moment he was out of line. My kids were shocked. My sister walked away to find another boat as my wife and I were left explaining to John that we didn't realize that the charter required a full 3 hours. We maintained a civil and calm discourse, but my 17-year-old son was full of emotion, angry and crying, and as he walked away he said "F*ck you Captain John." John eyed my son, squared off in his direction and said, "What did you say?" My son walked back up to him, "Go ahead, I'm 17, lay a hand on me! My grandparents are dead and you're being a dick!" I stepped in between them and talked more with John. I don't recall exactly how the discussion went; I know my wife was explaining that we would have been on time had we know the circumstances. Eventually he extended his hand to shake, offering to take us out if we still wanted to go. I shook his had but let him know we didn't want to go out with him. He offered a refund, I told him to keep half since he had gone through the effort with the flowers and breakfast, but he said "No, I'm the business owner, this is my business, and I'm going to give you a full refund." He had his phone out and refunded the money. We were able to find two guys who were getting a boat ready to go fishing the next day - Dave and Billy. They took us out, were awesome to hang out with and had a cool dog. They charged us half as much, had us back on the dock by 10:15 and we gave them a $100 tip. Most importantly, Mom and Dad are together again, ashes to the sea, starting the next part of their journey. I'm writing this review to let you know the character of the man who runs this business. I prefer to do business with people who value compassion and understanding over promptness, who don't perceive clients who are running late to be disrespectful. read more

We were going to use this charter to spread our parents ashes out at sea. We were about 30 minutes late and informed Captain John of this situation. When we got there Captain John was VERY RUDE to my brother about us being late. We didn't need his unprofessional attitude while going through our parent's burial! DO NOT USE THEM. He truly should not be in business as he does not know how to handle people at all. If you do use him be warned do not be late. I'm truly disgusted by this experience and this man's unsympathetic attitude! read more

Ok so first off I have to say it was not only a pleasure, but truly an honor to work with both Captain John and Suzan. I flew in town to propose to my girlfriend he helped me set up the perfect proposal. Not only that, but we ended up doing a jet ski charter with him the following day as well and had an amazing time. We did a private dinner sail to celebrate on our honeymoon. Captain John and his first mate were great tour guides and we had a fantastic night sailing out to the inlet and back!
