The welcoming atmosphere and great service is not found to this level anywhere. The food was amazing. We went with a more cocktail menu and could not have been more pleased. The chicken and waffles and the tomato soup with grilled cheese should not be missed. Chef Steph was amazing. The crudités were extraordinary and the dips were a treat. I cannot recommend enough! Thank you Jeani, John and Steph!

It's super clean and raw while still feeling cozy. The studio is located inside a large older warehouse and it's a bit of a maze to get to the actual space, but not a big deal and the directions are clear and easy. This would be a great space for a fun and creative dinner party.

I visited this art studio in October 2021 for a special exhibit titled "Mothers in Black & White"…read more BREAKFORTH STUDIO -- The studio is used as an art studio or for special events. It can be rented out to photographers and other creative individuals who need to host an event. From the owner's own words (Sharon and Tony Hughes) - "Years ago, we had a vision of offering a space that we could share with other creatives to help foster inspiration as well as a place we could host and practice hospitality. Fast forward, we are excited to offer Breakforth Studio as a place where you can come work, create, and celebrate. If you're interested in reserving the studio for your project or event, be sure to check out availability." MOTHERS in BLACK AND WHITE, SPECIAL EXHIBIT -- This special exhibit was shown in Cleveland (Ohio) in October 2021 and in Chicago (Illinois) in November 2021. I really enjoyed visiting this exhibit which showed images of black mothers with their children in black and white colour. The people represented live in Cleveland and Chicago. I enjoyed viewing the image of Justin Bibb and his mother, then, in October 2021, the mayoral candidate but now the Cleveland mayor who was sworn-in as mayor in January 2022. All images really showed some of the joy, hope, and struggle that many blacks in America have faced and continue to face. GOAL of Exhibit -- "The hope is to bring people together across racial divides, to do the hard-but-necessary work of acknowledging overt and covert racism and work together to shift the collective consciousness of race in America." -- Sharon Hughes, Photographer and Breakforth Studio Owner As of 2022, the Mothers in Black and White exhibit isn't been shown elsewhere but more information on the exhibit can be found at https://mothersinblackandwhite.com **** - 27/150 total reviews in 2022 - 505 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 22 March 2022

Cleveland strikes again with another hidden cultural gem! The Slovenian National Home is the home…read morebase for the marvelous Cleveland Kurentovanje Festival. Kurentovanje is a Mardi Gras type festival, celebrating the end of winter and the beginning of spring. There's no denying that the CLE can be a bleak place in February, so the tradition of "scaring away" winter to usher in spring is a perfect fit for Slovenians and Clevelanders alike. I've had an excellent time attending this festival the past few years. Once the parade concludes, everyone packs into the National Home to enjoy pivo (beer), pierogi, Slovenian sausage, krofi (donuts), and more while dancing to live polka music. If you're visiting, make sure to stop into the Slovenian Museum & Archives next door. The National Home hosts events all throughout the year. I can't wait to try out their fish fry this Lent!

Very cool "Mardi Gras" celebration. Kurentovanje is the fun festival right before the lent season…read morewhere the Kurents come and ring cow bells to scare away winter. My four year old loved the parade. It was not too crowded outside because it was still quite cold on this early March day. But he got a lot of attention and some candy, and we had a lot of laughs when one of the Kurents snuck up behind him. Very organized parade route and very easy to get a good spot. Inside was another story- the venue was packed! We sifted our way through the crowd to get a hot dog for my son and then some treats to take home with us. I would have loved to have stayed a little longer and visited some of the outside vendors, but the natives (i.e. my child) were getting restless. I can't wait to do this again next year!
