Unfortunately, I never received the estimate or any follow-up communication. It's disappointing to have someone come to your home, seem helpful in person, and then completely drop off with no follow-through. This situation also set me back on my spring landscaping plans. They came on Friday to give a second opinion when a competitor quoted me a $14k complete replacement because my compressor was "dead" and would no longer function because of its age. The tech on Friday correctly diagnosed high superheat, and noted that the compressor was operating within expectations at off-design conditions. A root cause was not identified, but we had good guidance to work from and survive the weekend. On Monday, they came back out to follow up on the poor performance that persisted through the weekend. Despite leading them with the wrong suggested diagnosis, the tech evaluated the problem thoroughly and quickly found the root cause. The A/C was back to normal by Tuesday and will last several more years. Both times, the techs were inquisitive, knowledgeable, and honest. Great service and great values make this company worth your business.

They sent a guy out, and he called me with his diagnosis. He proposed to install a fancy thermostat with sensors in each upstairs room. I let him completely finish. Then I said that the last time I was there, I noticed cold air flowing downstairs when only the upstairs thermostat was on. And then the guy said they could fix that by installing new dampers. I said okay and we forgot about the fancy thermostat plan. It must have been all that was needed, because my tenants never complained again. SO - I'm happy that they competently fixed the problem, but I can't give 5 stars when they missed the real problem when diagnosing.

However, they didn't inspire confidence: a bit sloppy in action and didn't take time to answer questions thoroughly. So I asked around and was told to call Air Concept Services. Had them come out and check the system. They gave basically the same price to replace the evaporator coil, but they also gave two other options: additionally replace the condenser, or do a full system replacement. After checking out the differences in walk-away price compared to the differences in efficiency, I called back and talked to the owner about what we needed, and he said that it generally made sense for people with systems this age to do the evaporator coil and condenser to get the better efficiency but that our furnace should be fine for years so we didn't need to spend the extra on the full system replacement. Workers showed up on time and worked hard. Friendly guys. It took them an extra hour or two to get the ducts lined up for the new system, but no one tried to hassle me for extra money because of it, or tried to do a rush job. After they finished, they even asked to borrow a broom and vacuum cleaner so they could clean the floor. No complaints from me and it's a good day when a company says they'll do something and follow through without issue. The only complaint about the whole issue is that I left one voicemail that they didn't return, back when I was trying to get more information. Given how everything worked out, I don't hold it against them, but I recommend that if they don't call you back that you give them a second call until you get someone on the phone.

They carry a brand called mohawk which is apparently extremely highly rated and durable. I wanted to think about it and came back and spoke to Will, who was extremely helpful and pleasant. He let me take their floor samples home to see how they would look! Unfortunately the colors available did not match my house. However, Will was able to help me find a really nice carpet for my stairs and home office. It is pet proof, as well! It feels so soft walking on the "Heritage" carpet and the coloring is such that dirt won't show. They were also cheaper than the carpet I had originally planned on getting. Will made the experience so easy! I had never heard of them before, but I am glad my house painter mentioned them. I strongly recommend them.
