Trying to get pregnant is an extremely discouraging and demeaning process but Dr. Nguyen was able to help me get in tune with my body in a way that I never knew how. Even in my darkest moments she was always encouraging and insightful and her sunny outlook kept me going even when I was about to give up. In fact, I had pretty much completely given up when I finally got that positive sign that I had been hoping for. My treatment did not end there, I worked with Dr. Nguyen during my first trimester to make sure my baby was healthy and strong and my body was running like a well-oiled machine. I'm not quite sure if I just got off lucky or if the acupuncture was just really effective because I've been feeling even BETTER than I did before I got pregnant. Except for a few charlie horses here and there I did not suffer from nausea or other typical ailments at all. What I like about about Dr. Nguyen is her balanced approached to alternative medicine and she never seems to recommend treatments that I don't need (although I almost kind of want them because it's so relaxing and zen in there). I feel very safe and comfortable in her hands and have been so glad to have her in my arsenal of self care tools. She recently relocated to a brand new office in Tysons Corner which is super modern, chic and quiet -- perfect for relaxing! You can also book and cancel appointments online which is very convenient. I am a physician who did not initially believe in acupuncture and was skeptical at first, but I decided to give him a try. My first problem was a partial rotator cuff tear and I had been suffering with daily pain for 1 year. The pain was 24/7. I was told by an orthopedic sports medicine doctor that surgery was my my only choice to correct my problem. Needless to say, Yan corrected my problem and now I have been pain free and very active with sports and working out in the gym without any problems. I had sciatica next and he resolved that for me. I had a trigger finger problem and he resolved that for me. I have sent many patients to him with severe migraine headaches and they have all been very pleased with their good results. However, to know the length of my session ahead of time would have been more calming vs lying there wondering how much longer I had to lie there with the needles in my body. And to say there is no pain is exaggerated. There is some pain, but somewhat minimal. I did have negative effects afterwards that lasted for several days. I feel I am probably the exception and not the rule, as I see many benefiting from acupuncture. But it obviously is not beneficial to everyone.

Dr. Rulli does a great job and doesn't have you continue methods that don't work well; I'm going for headaches, and after doing both adjustments and acupuncture (Which costs more), Dr. Rulli quickly told me that he didn't feel the acupuncture helped nearly as much as my spinal adjustments, and encouraged me to stick with just the adjustments. Given I was game to be a pin cushion--that's how bad the headaches are--I was surprised. As for the headaches, the adjustments are a BIG help! They aren't a cure, of course, but they provide relief without medication. Until the underlying cause is uncovered, I'm in the dark, but thanks to Dr. Rulli, I'm able to get relief.
