Thanks to the amazing man from Empire Towing, my car was safely delivered to my repair shop. My car would not turn on for some unknown reason after work today in this god forsake freezing weather. My car was nosed in within a tiny parking lot and he was still able to tow my car. My insurance company contacted 2 towing companies, the first could only move my car with the risk of messing up the transmission. Therefore we passed on them and luckily found empire towing. I will forever be grateful for his help. Unfortunately I was not able to catch his name, but thank you a million times. read more

WARNING: Do not use them if possible. At 8:55 am, my husband called our insurance company to get a towing service to our house (locked his keys in his truck). We received a text from our insurance saying this towing company will be here by 9:20 am. After no show by 950, we called them directly, the guy was rude and short like we bothered them. They told us they will be here in 15 mins. After waiting another 20-25 mins, we didnt see anyone or hear anything. So we decided to call our insurance company, they put us on hold and got back to us saying it will be 5 mins. After 15 mins NOT 5 mins, we got a call from the driver, he told us ANOTHER 15 MINS. Then we call him back that he is down the street. No communication, took 2 1/2 hrs, and just rude. Never using them again! read more

By far the most unprofessional, dishonest experience you can possibly have with a towing company. My car company called Empire to tow my car which had died, because they were the closest in the area. They said they'd be there in 45 minutes. An hour later, we called to see where they were. The answer was 10 minutes away. After another 30 minutes, still no tow, we called again, and the answer was "we are 2 lights away - almost there". Lying again. It wasn't until TWO HOURS of waiting in the freezing cold that they showed up, and here's where it gets even better. The guy DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO TOW THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!! He had a flatbed, and couldn't figure out how to get my car into neutral to get it on. So we had to call a DIFFERENT tow company, (Haynes towing, btw, was excellent and professional), who showed up in 15 minutes, and had the car towed immediately. BOTTOM LINE: Empire was awful in every way - 2 hours slow, dishonest, unprofessional, and couldn't even tow the car. Stay away. read more

I wish zero stars was an option. ComPLETEly worthless. Elephant insurance uses these clowns and I got a text they'd be here in 45 minutes. An hour and a half later, no show. They claim nobody was here and both the dispatcher and driver called me. zero missed calls, zero voicemail, and I was WAITING OUTSIDE BY THE CAR. I don't have 20/20 but it's kind of hard to miss a friggin tow truck. I can understand mistakes happen but I abhor being lied to. read more

We placed a call for a tow at 6:30AM nearly 3 hours later and still no F****** TOW TRUCK..... we called 4 times and each time they claimed to be "10 minutes" away...COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! My car broke down and I physically couldn't get it to a mechanic, so I called these guys. It was absolutely INSANE. I hired them to pick up my car. We set a date and time, but they would not let me pay in advance. Then they came to pick up the car from my house at the agreed upon time, but they did not call or text to confirm. Now this is where things get crazy. They picked MY CAR up from MY HOUSE and they took it to the mechanic, but they never released the vehicle to the mechanic nor did they return it to my house. Instead, they brought it to their impound lot. They claimed that I should have been at the mechanic and ready to pay for the towing in cash, although they would not allow me to pay in advance, they would not allow me to pay by card ahead of time, and they did not inform me of their policies ahead of time. I know this might sound absolutely crazy, and you might think I am making this up or misrepresenting the circumstances surrounding the incident, but these type of companies are very shady, and they're used to dealing with poor and oppressed communities that have now legal recourse or any means of advocating for their own legal interests. I was actually pursuing legal action against the company for violation of promissory estoppel, and my friend and the attorney who was representing me said we had a pretty much open and shut case, although I ultimately never pursued legal action because I had to leave the country to attend grad school in Hanover, DE and I was already dealing with another protracted civil case surrounding my late fathers estate. It is also worth mentioning that the owner of the company is an obese vulgar man who made several antisemitic jokes towards me and general derogatory comments towards the Pikesville Jewish community. read more
