Gold is not something that you should buy online. I like to feel the weight, try it on, etc. I also do not want to pay the hugely jacked up fees that the regular jewelry stores charge. So, this brings me to Empire Loan, I had a boss who was a rich man. He could afford to buy brand new jewelry, but he told me-"do you know why I'm rich, because I buy smart." Empire has an awesome variety, great stuff that is QUALITY. I went in there, dealt with Anna who was professional, honest with me, and took her time. Went there to sell a digital camera that I gotten in Augusta fairly new to the market. I brought in all the packaging, box. The extra accessories I boughten for it tri-pod all the accessories including memory card case and rechargeable batteries with charge pack. They would only give me 50 bucks for it. That cheapest they found online. I looked prior before coming in and did not find that price. When I asked her what site she wouldn't tell me. I told her there's no way. I looked at bunch of different places and they where offering used for 200 bucks with no accessories. This place tries to rip you off if your stupid enough to let them. Better off selling it on Craigslist and make a hundred percent. read more

He was professional, fast efficient and very thorough! You could tell Rob took pride in his profession and had great respect for the sellers time and merchandise! I can't comment on the pawn aspect of their business since I didn't sell them anything, but I purchased a Montblanc pen a while back, and some crystal more recently. Staff/Manager are very nice, and prices very fair. I will keep checking back in for my favorite collectibles. read more

This place is unprofessional. I called in and asked them, if I come in and leave my laptop as collateral for a short-term loan would I have to give my password. I asked this question because I, reasonably, did not want my private documents and files accessed while my laptop was stowed away. I was assured by the gentleman who answered the phone that they did not need the password, and I heard him verify with another worker who was working there that they did not need the password. However, when I arrived at the shop about 20 minutes after I called, the woman who I met there refused to accept my laptop as collateral for a loan unless I gave her my password. When I told her I had called in just moments earlier and was assured this was not needed, she shrugged her shoulders and did nothing to fix the situation. So essentially this is a shop that does not keep its word or have consistent policies that its employees are educated on. I'm upset that I wasted my time coming to their shop. Also, they only offered $65 for a 2013 Macbook Pro, which is a ridiculous low-ball offer. So not only is this place unprofessional, it's also a scam. Dont waste your time with them. read more

I have been using this loan company along with another popular one. I learned a valuable lesson the hard way, (Financially). I signed up for e-mail notices twice at their location. However, I have yet to receive a message from them, via e-mail. When coming in without my tickets, I was told that they couldn't look up my items?? When I returned with the ticket, I was told that my item had been foreclosed on. I was shown a picture of the items foreclosed on per my request. Low and behold when I returned at a later date to pick up my other more expensive items, the jewelry that I was told had been foreclosed on was what they said I had left. I was then informed that my other jewelry had been foreclosed on and that they had waited more than the required time. I don't believe it. I picked up my other jewelry from another pawn shop minutes earlier and they still had everything. I know you take a risk when you pawn and do not pick up in time. However, I believe that there is something not above board going on at EMPIRE LOAN. Why are they in such a hurry to move your expensive jewelry to foreclosure. And why does the least expensive remain longer? I will never do business with them again. AND, the other location told me that they hear it all the time. I can't be the only one who they have done this too. In my opinion they are a riff off. Please watch out for your valuable jewelry. They do not bother with the not so valuable pieces. It is the ones that are far beyond what they give you for the value. WATCH OUT or better yet, don't use them. I'd like to add that I have appraisals for all of my jewelry and I have all of the pawn tickets at home. If at any time there is a full investigation I will be ready. I know that I can't be the only one that they have done this to. I recognize that most of the reviews here are for purchasing and/or selling. Regrettably, I took loans. read more

nt there to sell my stuff I pulled out a watch made out of silver and gold and they didn't even let me talk they just said they only buy rollex not this kind of watch. If they just listen they would have realized that it's a special kind of watch that is worth thousands but there loss definitely not going there again it's rude not to even listen to what a person has to say let alone just take a item for less then a second and then say no. read more
