This is definitely a "You touch it, you break it, you buy it" place, so I kept my hands in my pockets and just looked. The Glass Market is a really an amazing gift shop with Steuben crystal artwork, fine art glass, jewelry, serving plates, goblets, fine crystal, and home furnishing items. You can buy the famous leaded glass artwork, stained glass sun catchers, little glass animals, flowers, and knickknacks, barware, fancy wine decanters, bud vases, and so much more. Wow, the selection was really impressive, and very fragile. Dad and I picked out a couple of smaller items, and I had mine wrapped and shipped back to Florida. In my case, I found some hand-blown glass pumpkins to use for Halloween decorations, and in his case he found a glass serving platter for my sister to use for the Holidays. He surprised me with a hand-made studio glass paperweight that depicts life under the sea. It is gorgeous, and surprisingly heavy, and it's one of my favorite possessions. With over 50,000 items inside spanning all the way from ancient Egypt to present, and three stories, we needed two days! The live demo was wonderful and my friend, who had never seen glass blown before, was really impressed. The innovation studio and all of the elements inside that are interactive are stellar. I loved seeing all the artistic pieces downstairs and then learning upstairs on the second floor. Sadly, we didn't have time to book making an item - they had some really nice glass items you can make for fair prices like a clock and other useful pieces. Would've loved to do it. I'd say you easily need 4-5 hours here if you want to do everything. The gift shop is huge as well so we spent around 30-40 minutes there. I will rave about this place to people for years to come. A happy find for us on our annual girl's trip, for sure.
