same as the other bad review, I took my 10 yr old son there and had zero greeting when we entered. My son asked for a specific cut, he then did a slight fade around his hair in about 4-5 minutes and then pulled off the apron and said done. He didn't ask if it was ok or we liked it. My son acted like he liked it because he felt weirded out by the guy and i just didn't want to deal with the guy so we left, will not return. read more

I stumbled upon this place in 2011 shortly after I moved into the area. Location is convenient to my regular activities. I have worn a 'firefighter's' haircut (short on the sides, just long enough to part on top) for decades and like it, so without being AR about it, that's how I want to look. Took my 83 yr old father in law and myself in for hair and beard trim on New Years Eve day. Been driving by it for two days on several occasions and there were no customers so thought we'd give it's go. Walked inside with no greeting from the Vietnamese barber. So after he finishes texting he points to the chair. Not friendly at all. Both of us were completely done in 10-minutes. $12 for head, $6 for beard and a $2 tip. $20 each. Way over priced. But the real issue is he didn't trim the long spiral wizard hairs from above the eyes and ended up leaving looking like a mad scientist. Lol But when he failed to brush and vacuum the hair from the head and beard, it all fell out all over our clothes. This place is not worth it. read more

We are not from Coos Bay and my husband Wanted and needed a haircut. We went to Walmart and it looked not very inviting so he declined their services. Looking on line I discovered the "Empire Barbershop." We walked in and immediately liked the atmosphere. The owner/barber is friendly, polite and gave my hubby a GREAT haircut. He's pretty picky about how his hair is cut and this haircut was fast and spot on. Did I also mention very reasonably priced too?
