In general, all of the doctors said that this problem could not be permanently fixed, but they could help me manage my pain. I will never know if I was responsible for not getting the care I needed because I chose doctors with the wrong medical specialties, nevertheless less I decided to take a different approach. I called Dr Mark Prasarn an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. After Speaking with Dr. Prasarn, I left his office feeling inspired. Nothing was fixed yet, but I was filled with hope. Dr. Prasarn said the cause of my back pain was Spondilolithesis. He also said that it wasn't as bad as some others that he has seen in the past and that the surgery could fix my problem. I really appreciate the fact that he spent a considerable amount of time with me that day. Dr. Prasarn has a very methodical approach regarding care. He first recommended that I try physical therapy, if there was little to no change in my pain level we would then move on to pain management. If the pain level persists, we would try surgery. It is good game plan for him to start with the least invasive strategies until he could provide a decision that matched my personal needs. I did eventually have surgery. After just two weeks from the day of my surgery the pain was completely gone. I waited four months to write this review because I wanted to see if there would be any recurring issues concerning my back pain. I am happy to report that I feel great!! I have not experienced any pain (nothing!). For me this surgery has been life changing. I can't tell you all the special accommodations that were made for me just to take a walk. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Prasarn a very good doctor and really a very nice person. He has the credentials and it is very obvious that he has a strong desire for helping people. Dottie Wisdom is the manager and has been there since my first visit in as early as 2003 if not before and is exceptional at what she does. Any of her staff are above average and are all well educated in their field. Trish, the office manager has been there since I started as well. People are waiting three days to get a room out of emergency. In the meantime the hospital tried to hide it and keep offering different procedures to keep the patients hoping they would get seen. I know every patient does not need bloodwork , iv port, ekg , X-ray or cat scan but yet each of us no matter our illness was offered that protocol followed by hours and hours of waiting to see a doctor. Occasionally the security guard tries to get family out of waiting room literally living patients to care for themselves alone. Some way too sick for that. One man fell and busted his head on the hand sanitizer stand causing him to bleed and projectile vomit. The front desk didn't know what to do. Er staff to busy to attend to him. Patients helped him up. Patients who left AMA were literally Dis missed at the counter after they removed the iv port that they never needed anyway. Just a bandaid and sign here. Scam to book insurance money and extend the expected wait time. Please do my take your family to this ER ever. The care didn't improve after much complaining we got a hospital bed over 12 hrs later. The hospital doesn't communicate within departments and cannot give true answers on when you will see a doctor , get transferred or dismissed.

Both Dr Lowe and Sloan did fantastic jobs! I am now having issues with my right knee. Office was quick to get me in on time and Dr Sloan was fantastic with evaluation. She determined that gel injections would be a good first step for both knees and will continue to evaluate the right knee and repair meniscus mid-year if MRI calls for it. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Sloan which is why I drove to the Woodlands rather than the medical center location. Highly recommend Dr. Sloan!
