I really loved that there is a Pearland location! So convenient for us!! They are only in this office on Tuesdays, I believe. Before jumping in with all the good, the main reason for the negative was getting our initial visit. Both my husband and I spoke to the same woman at this office and her first concern was financial. No concern for how the patient was, she was only focused on insurance. Both of us got off the phone saying how rude she she was. Oddly enough, even with insurance we paid $250 for the initial visit... which wasn't *that* much less than if we had to pay the full out of pocket cost. So WHY be so rude about insurance and payment???? It just rubbed us the wrong way. Despite the sourness of the initial interaction, we went ahead with the appointment and we LOVED everyone in the office: from the guy who would bring us back to the room (sorry, I forgot his name but he was always so happy and friendly), to the techs who would do the X-rays, to John (who always did the splints/cast) and of course Dr. Siff. I felt that this office doesn't deal with children A LOT but everyone was so loving and friendly to our child. Dr. Siff was so gentle and patient, answering all questions we had. Another little snag-a-roo we had was when our visit got cancelled by the office. When I called them to reschedule (instead of them calling US to reschedule), they wouldn't be able to get us into this location for another few WEEKS!!!! In another few weeks, our daughter's arm would be healed so we took an appointment in the Houston location. We did NOT like having to drive into the city, park in a garage, navigate up a million floors, etc. It worked out fine but it was still annoying, wish they could have fit us in at the Pearland location since they cancelled the appointment. All in all, we really did love the treatment we were provided by Dr. Siff and Houston Methodist Orthopedics.

There were a series of issues I experienced with this cardiology practice that ultimately led me to…read morelose confidence in the care being provided. My first visit was in November. From the outset, I was concerned by the condition of the clinic rooms and restroom (not the reception area) both of which appeared unclean. While not clinical issues, first impressions matter in a medical setting. The doctor ordered follow-up testing for December, including a stress test, echocardiogram, and heart monitor. Communication from the office staff (RMAs) was inconsistent. I received multiple reminder calls the day before my appointment, on the second call the tests and associated costs were discussed. During that call, I was informed by the RMA that a manual stress test would be sufficient and that the echocardiogram was not necessary. This information appeared to be understood and accepted by the staff member I spoke with. The day of testing was disorganized. I arrived early and completed my stress test at 8:00 a.m., ahead of schedule. I then waited over an hour without any communication. When I approached the front desk, I was told my heart monitor appointment was not until 10:00 a.m. and that the delay was due to the office not having any heart monitors available. No one informed me of this in advance. Had I known, I could have used that time productively instead of waiting. I left to run errands and returned later, only to find the monitor was still unavailable because the previous patient had not returned it. The lack of equipment and proactive communication was frustrating. At my follow-up appointment in January, I was brought back promptly by the RMA, who took my vitals. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, the doctor entered the room without charts, signed into the computer, and asked for my name. When the doctor entered the room without reviewing my chart and asked for my name, it fundamentally undermined my trust. In a specialty as serious as cardiology, patient identification and preparation are critical. If a physician does not know who I am or why I am being seen, it is difficult to feel confident entrusting them with my care. After signing into the system, the doctor became aware that the echocardiogram had not been completed and asked why. I explained that I had been advised by the RMA that it was not necessary. At that point, the doctor stated that he wanted me to return to complete the echocardiogram. While I did receive reassurance that my condition was not immediately life-threatening, the repeated breakdowns in communication and lack of preparation left me feeling like just another number rather than a patient. When asked to schedule the echocardiogram, I was told it had to be done at this office. At that point, I declined. Trust is essential in healthcare, and I no longer felt comfortable continuing care here. Between the disorganization, inconsistent communication, equipment shortages, and lack of preparedness at visits, I feel I wasted both time and money. I am now seeking a cardiologist who demonstrates stronger communication, preparation, and bedside manner.

After having ACL and LET surgery with Dr. Lowe, I was fortunate to have Kim as my PT. She's incredibly knowledgeable, always knows how to push me just the right amount, and constantly cheers me on throughout my recovery. The communication between her and my doctor has been spot on, which has really helped my progress. When she's not around, I go to Kaleb and he's awesome as well! From the moment I walk in, Eze and Britany greet me with smiles and make the check-in process so smooth. The whole team, including techs - Nyla, Manny, and Isaiah, keep the energy up and are always willing to lend a hand. It's not just the staff--the other patients make this place feel like a community, and we all motivate each other as we work toward recovery. I truly appreciate the positivity and professionalism here, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of top-notch care!

Last time I checked, manipulating the lumbar spine doesn't help strengthen a leg. When I went for the assessment I explained I had atrophied from being bedridden and needed to be able to stand and walk - I was using crutches. I explained in detail that muscle imbalance was from a serious case of Piriformis syndrome where I was scheduling for surgery, and need to get in shape for the required Tavel to Nevada where the surgeon is located. I explained to her: don't stretch or engage the piriformis; I told her not to engage my glutes since that creates severe long lasting pain. The first session she decided to check for nerve issues - why? It was clearly due to muscle imbalance. Then I explained that my back was fine after 5 years of therapy and could only go into flexion, not extension. And to leave it alone. She only had 4 years of PT experience and didn't have a clue about the spine, sciatica, neuropathy, etc. But she just couldn't listen or assess with all the detailed facts. So the fist exercise was to have me sit on glutes - everyone knows that burns like hell and creates pain in the piriformis- pedal away on a compact floor pedal machine. Ok. I had pain my ankles after that. So she claimed it was nerves even though I had no strength. I had go home and rehab my ankles and feet myself bc she didn't know what do but claim it was nerves! What logic. The next exercise was trivial: prone position, knees bent, and raise the knee off the table. Ok. So after that I strained the tendons and developed groin strain. She never figured that was due to extreme weakness. Each time I went in, I showed her my leg muscles were spasming in an over nervous protective way. She never connected the observed weakness in general or the legs was where the problem. She never assessed the strength in my in my calves , adductors, or quads. She completely ignored the history and complaint, went off target, and decided to exercise my glutes, my piriformis, and then rock my lumbar spine at S1. Even though I told her not to do those, she confidently said it was ok. Ok for what! That wasn't going to help my legs and those exercises were contraindicated for my condition. Immediately after getting home I felt searing pain at S1/L5 that radiated into the sacrum. It was pretty obvious that her poorly designed exercise damage by spine. After a week of searing pain and OxyContin, I got an MRI which confirmed the pain from her exercise aligned with the symptom and the report showing a S1/l5 bulge/tear. And later confirmed with the pain med doc. So I went there with symptoms consistent muscle imbalance from Piriformis syndrome and requested during assessment that I strengthen my legs so I could walk. Instead, she ignored my detailed history, and went into areas that she had no knowledge to experiment bc in her mind it was nerves and disregarded my everyday comments about leaving my piriformis, back, and glutes alone. She didn't know what she was doing, didn't go her boss and tell him she didn't have the experience needed for my condition, or seek help from colleagues. Total negligence. Remember the old saying, "do no harm." And now my legs are more unstable, I have serious pain, and will have deal with this simultaneously with surgery and travel. And am I going to need back surgery from a careless PT? BTW, her boss doesn't view this as serious problem.
