A very popular cafe for takeaway salads and sandwiches, hence the early opening hours when people…read morebuy their lunches to bring to work. Orion is considered to have good selection of salads, but in my opinion at least the vegetarian salad is awful. I can't speak for the rest. The prices at Orion is very good and a bit lower than the rest of the cafés in Borås. They have good sandwiches, cookies, cakes and pastries. So it's especially good for familes with kids, students and retired people, because you don't need to shell out 15 EUR for a latte, sandwich and a cake.
The interior lacks finess but still manage to works anyway. It was renovated maybe 10 years ago, before that it had this decadent interior with old antique furniture and gold framed pictures on the wall. But it reeked of smoke. Orion was the first café that became a non-smoking cafe in Borås, and shortly thereafter they renovated it into its current look, which is a undefined retro 50s style in somber beige and brown colour palette.
The atmosphere is generally laid back. There might be long lines, sometimes even outside, but the staff is efficient and work through the line quickly.
