And of course, who reads magazines when you can dive into a new world of comic books of dark fantasy and heavy lore for a couple hours while you wait for your hair to be done. The great thing is that it is located in New West, where no one will know me and I can wear ugly clothing to my hair cut appointment and then get home without being seen. On top of that, there are tons of place to park on the street as well! Just look carefully and you will find some good spots! My stylist, Ashley is extremely experienced as they literally did my hair cut before the pandemic. Granted, they just browsed through my Instagram for a little bit and they gave me the hair style. It was perfect and the length is exactly how I wanted it! Thanks Ashley for doing such an AMAZING job~!! I will be booking in the future for my coloring, because I need some hair pop before the summer starts!! They for sure gained an amazing customer for life!

I've been a client of Zoom for many years, and it continues to be one of the most comfortable,…read morewelcoming salons I've ever visited. It's a small, female‑owned space with a team of talented stylists who are consistently kind, skilled, and attentive. The atmosphere is warm, the service is thoughtful, and the reputation they have in the community is absolutely earned. I always feel taken care of here, no matter what I'm coming in for. Highly recommend this salon and the wonderful team behind it. I want to give a special shout‑out to Chloe, who recently did a bang trim for me. This was my first time in her chair, even though I've been coming to Zoom for years. I've been going through a financially difficult period and haven't been able to afford regular haircuts for a while. Chloe was incredibly intuitive and sensitive to where I was at. She showed me so much kindness and compassion that it honestly caught me off guard -- in the best way. She offered thoughtful suggestions to help me maintain my extremely thick, hard‑to‑manage hair during this uncertain time, and it meant more to me than she probably realized. Her care, her gentleness, and her practical advice made a real difference on a day when I needed it. Thank you, Chloe. Your kindness made things feel a little easier during a very hard moment, and I'm truly grateful.

I felt that Zoom really focused on client's having an enjoyable and relaxing experience. The have a lounge area where they also do coloring. This was a first for me as I'm usually just sitting in the regular salon chair while my hair gets done, but this space felt more relaxing. They also had plenty of tea options for guests. One thing that I did notice was that one side of my hair was slightly lighter than the other. I think most people wouldn't notice it though. Would definitely recommend Zoom.

In just one visit, Pamela managed to fix all of my issues from several previous bad haircuts done elsewhere. I went online and remembered that I hadn't tried out Eclipps before. In years past it had always come across as pretentious to me, so it's never occured to me to go there but I changed my mind. I went online and checked out their services and cost and found me a $5 off coupon for new clients. When I called earlier in the day they had an available styist for that time. I am not sure who took the call but they weren't overly friendly on the phone at first but seemed to get nicer as the call went on, not that it went on for a long time. (This is why I only gave them 4 stars and not 5). When I got there I felt welcomed. As soon as I walked in someone greated me and since I was early, made sure that I didn't mind waiting, which of course I didn't. The salon has a nice set up. The product is easy to see and well set up. The waiting area is quaint with a little red leather, retro feel. I liked it. Then there is the Penelope. She is the gorgeous Boston Terrier that is one of the stylists. I got a greeting from her as well. So needless to say, the wait was fun. When my waiting was over, this cheery young lady came over and introduced herself as Christa and that she would be the one doing my hair. What I really liked is that she asked what I wanted AND she reiterated everything I said to make sure we were on the same page. As she was doing my haircut she would explain all the product she was using, including the shampoo and conditioner etc. She didn't put in a lot of product but what I liked was she explained what it was and what it did for my hair. When she was done I was the happiest girl on the block, or at least the hair salon, and felt a hell of a lot lighter after Christa took out the poof!! I will be back to see Christa! I had an easy time talking with her while she cut and styled my mop and she did a fantabulous job! PS the reason I wasn't offered a beverage was that I had my to go mug filled with London Fog from Starbucks down the street lol.

I arrived a couple minutes early for my appointment and was greeted by Trevor. He asked what we would be doing [with my hair]. I had a blonde ombre look going at the bottom half of my hair; the top half was a reddish-brown. My roots, however, are a dark brown which were coming through and looking horrible. I explained that I wanted the reddish-brown to be dyed the same colour as my roots, but I wanted to keep the blonde. Essentially, I wanted a reverse ombre (ie. I wanted to make things as complicated as possible). Trevor was patient with me and understood what I wanted. He got to work on my hair right away and was a pleasure to talk to. He made conversation with me the entire time he worked on my hair, which is something I appreciate. When he washed out my colour, he asked what I wanted to do to my hair. I stressed that I just wanted a trim. He showed me how much he was going to cut before he cut it, to ask if I was okay with it. I agreed. He blow-dried and flat ironed my hair after and applied a split-end recovery serum to my ends (which I ended up buying with the help of a 30% coupon that Magicuts had). My hair looked fantastic when he was done with it! I also couldn't believe the price: it was under $100 (before tip, of course)! It's over a week later and my hair and colour still look great. A huge thank you to Trevor for making my hair look healthy again!
