Call me a softie, a sell-out, a traitor to my roots, but I'm saying it loud and proud: I kind of really like Antoine et Lili. What did me in? The middle shop devoted to kids stuff. Right before my little tot was born I found an adorable patchwork stuffed elephant there that looks like a grandma sewed it together used retro pieces of fabric. I was bummed to find out that it wasn't one of a kind, however, but for 20E, I couldn't turn it down. I've since gone back on multiple occasions for other goodies, like a fabulous hand-crocheted rattle from Peru that is safe for babies to suck on, and these amazing unisex leather booties with Freddy Mercury pizazz. Each time I've gone in the staff has been super sweet and helpful and genuinely baby-friendly. So if you're looking for cute, affordable baby stuff, Antoine and Lili has got your candy-colored number..
A quirkier, cooler, Parisian Lilly Pulitzer…read more In a surprising change of pace from the solid-color pastel storefronts facing Canal Saint-Martin, dresses and accessories at Antoine et Lili are actually evoke more sophistication in the form of fun *chinoise*-inspired prints. (Shops in the US could never get away with this design philosophy as they'd be beaten down by protests of cultural appropriation and political correctness). Conversely, the actual number of clothing designs is actually rather finite - variety consists of producing each tried-and-true pattern in a multitude of the aforementioned prints. Ultimately, these qualities allow for brightly colored clothing to be enjoyed outside of Lilly Pulitzer's Junior League and West Palm Beach retiree enthusiasts. As a bonus, VAT refunds are processed. On our visit, the shop is empty, except myself and my daughter, no one is in the changing rooms…read more My daughter likes a pair of shorts and a top from the sales basket. The sales assistant states that clothes from this basket cannot be tried on first. Pourqoi?? There was no sign in the shop stating that this is the case. I believe the sales assistant just made up the rule on the spot because she took a disliking to us, for whatever twisted reason she had. How on earth can you buy clothes without seeing if they fit first? Had they fitted, my daughter would have bought these items plus a scarf. This is bad customer service, poor sales technique and no way to run a business. Very very poor and I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone BTW This shop is not vintage, it sells new clothes

The owner chooses the items carefully, selecting only those that meet her criteria for "mode éthique." There is a very small section of used clothing, which speaks to the eco-friendly philosophy of the owner. The prices are not low, but are reasonable for the quality of the items. As an added bonus, the owner showed me how to wear my new blazer in a truly Parisian style. Overall, shopping here was a delight.

I had bookmarked a few spots before my visit, but came upon this spot when I was walking around. I loved this place so much that I went there twice, and would go back on my next visit. If you're visiting and looking for a quirky selection at reasonable prices, go here!

Despite the fact that the name makes me giggle, a little. Come here for delicately unique necklaces and bracelets, 100% Parisian leather bags, cute little polka-dotted pajama sets and to gawk at the gorgeous selection of military-style pea coats and printed tea dresses. The owner is incredibly sweet and attentive, and almost always offers a discount on select items (one day jewelry, another day coats or scarves), which is fortunate, because her wares are not cheap. Ask her to grab you a size if it's not on display: she has a fair amount of inventory in back.

This is the sort of hidden gem shop I always hope I'll stumble across in my travels but rarely do. Whilst there I spotted silky star-studded tanks, tiny flower print skirts and plenty of pantaloons. I ended up taking home four tops in total: two linen cap sleeve numbers - one in navy, one in white - and a pair of gossamer thin tunics in both grey and black that'll work nicely over jeans or shorts but could also double as coverups on the beach. And, amazingly, nothing I bought was over €20! Etern'elle is tiny and isn't much to look at but carries loads of fast fashion at great prices. They also do shoes, bags and a small selection of kids clothes. I'm a fan for sure and will definitely pop in on future trips to Paris!

The repurposed leather bags and canvas totes are super cool and unique -- take one home with you and you'll love it forever. This particular stip of the Marais has the best shopping in Paris, as far as I'm concerned. Young, thoughtful and smart designs fill these boutiques with lovely, one-of-a-kind finds that are beautiful and well-made all while remaining incredibly stylish and current. Matières à réflexion rises to the top of this group and I wish there was a way for me to get there more often!

Ummm, never. That's what I thought. And that's what makes this particular L'Eclaireur address one of the most unique and pleasant boutiques to visit in Paris, let alone the rest of the world. I rarely go to this shop because everything there is just too gorgeous and too expensive, but yesterday I was in the neighborhood and stopped by because I've been fantasizing recently over these adorable charms by an LA-based artist named Catherine Michaels that I knew l'Eclaireur carried. Of course the charm that I wanted was one of the pricier of the series, but I've been a very good girl lately and felt like I deserved it. The saleswomen helping were absolutely adorable despite their chic, sophisticated looks. They were so helpful, looking through catalogs to see what was in stock, getting out different strings for me to try my charms on with, marveling with me at how intricate and unique the designs were. It was such a pleasant pause from reality that the purchase happened almost in a blur. But every time I look down now at my fantastic charm necklace I'm thrown back to the experience and am so happy that I decided to ring that bell alongside that ominous door.
