Specialties

EmiArteFlamenco Academy will be offering the Spring Semester of classes starting February 5th and ending with Recital on May 25th. This is a 16 week semester with one week off for Spring Break, the week of March 19-23, as we do follow the Santa Fe Public School schedule. Registration can be done at the studio on the first day of class for new and returning students or a re-registration form can also be downloaded from the website www.EmiArteFlamenco.com

Established in 2014.

EmiArteFlamenco is produced and directed by Vicente Griego and La Emi. Launched in 2014, this dynamic company is comprised of an ensemble of local and international artists, dancers and musicians. It embraces artistic excellence and is renowned for embodying the power, passion and virtuosity of the art of flamenco. The company's mission is to promote the history and culture of traditional flamenco through cutting-edge performances and classes, captivating people of all ages. The performances and classes also serve to bring the community together in their love for flamenco and supporting the arts in Santa Fe.

Meet the Business Owner: Emmy G.

La Emi began studying flamenco at the age of four with the Maria Benitez Institute for Spanish Arts (ISA). At ten, she began working with the Institute's youth company, Flamenco's Next Generation. At age 12, La Emi began teaching within the Northern New Mexico public school system. In 2006, she began teaching for Moving Arts Española and ISA. La Emi has traveled to Spain to study intensively with Carmela Greco and other top artists including José Galván, Juana Amaya, Yolanda Heredia, Ivan Vargas Heredia, Orombo, and Rocio Alcaide Ruiz. She has performed under the direction of Carmela Greco, José Galván, and Torombo and at major venues and events including the Carmela Greco Seminario de Flamenco y Danza Española in Madrid; Cueva Los Tarantos, in the Sacramonte of Granada; in Sevilla at the Teatro Alameda Festival Flamenco; and the Café de Chinitas in Madrid. ​Currently she is teaching at the EmiArteFlamenco Academy, as well as performing in many venues throughout the country.
