I called 911 on 1-17-2026 at 5:15am and told them that i was told on Friday night by the lab that draws my blood twice a week that my BUN-creatine level was 41which was very high. I told the fireman that I had talked to St. joseph hospital where i had just been about my level. The hospital told me that I needed to be re-evaluated asap as this level was very dangerous. The head fireman told me that I could be taken to St. Joseph's hospital since it was only 17 minutes away and within their jurisdiction. I was put into the ambulance and soon found out that I ended up being taken to La Palma hospital, which I had refused to go to. I was taken into the hospital and told by the 2 ambulance drivers from emergency ambulance service that I would not stay. They started treating me very poorly with bad comments, telling me they hope they never see me again. They also said get off the gurney and go sit in the cold in the lobby and just left me there. I called my neighbor who was able to take me to St. Joseph and do what 911 should have been able to do for me. I have since contacted the Buena Park Police and was told that I have the right to refuse to go to any hospital and should follow up with my complaints since they are valid. read more

After a medical emergency, I had to call for an ambulance to seek urgent medical attention for my daughter. Naturally, I expected the ambulance crew to handle the situation professionally and with urgency . However, my experience with fell far short of these expectations. This was not the major reason for this review. The issue arose when I received the ambulance statement and wanted to get assistance on the billing. Despite the health insurance coverage, I was shocked to find that the charges were exorbitant and wanted an itemized statement. I decided to reach out to the company to inquire about the charges and explore potential options for assistance. I understand that ambulance services come with associated costs, but as a responsible consumer, I expected transparent communication and a willingness to address my genuine concerns. I reached out numerous occasions for an itemized statement. Finally, I received something, but it wasn't an itemized statement. It was actually a revision memo from the EMS director about the established maximum emergency ground Ambulance rates effective January 1, 2023. Unfortunately, this company failed to deliver on a basic request. I wanted to get an itemized statement of all the charges. So, I can contact my insurance company for any disputes. I reached out to Emergency Ambulance Service, Inc once again. I was pretty irate and wanted to get HELP! I asked them that I am willing to negotiate and pay the obligation. The associate informed me that if I can't afford it. They have payment programs for that, I get that there are payment programs. But I need an itemized statement to see what's all billed. They informed me that what they sent me is an overall itemized statement. I escalated the call for a manager and was told someone would call me back. Unbeknownst to me, I received a letter from a debt collector. My account was sent to a collections agency. I was really perplexed that it was sent to a debt collector and all I wanted was assistance to pay the amount owed. Today, I called Emergency Ambulance Service, Inc. and Ann picked up. I asked her why did my account get sent to a debt collector. If I reached out so many times to get assistance. She told me to call them and hung up on me. I called back and another associate picked up. I told him my situation and he states same thing. I requested a supervisor and after being placed on hold for several minutes. The associate came back and told me that the manager informed him that I need to call the debt collector. Tara the manager wasn't even willing to get on the phone with me.I sincerely hope that this company doesn't continue to treat other people like this.In times of crisis, it is crucial for companies to show compassion and understanding. These reviews won't matter much since situationally you aren't gonna Yelp your ambulances before or during but wanted to voice how predatory ambulances seem. My grandma was transported by Emergency Ambulance Service when she fell and broke her hip. She was altered and wasn't able to answer questions at all when asked. Orange County Fire Authority contracts with Emergency Ambulance Service as the transporting agency for the cities of Yorba Linda, Placentia, and Brea (Brea Fire Department). OCFA showed up first followed shortly by EAS. Both the fire department and the ambulance company were very friendly and able to calm down my mom who was frantic about my grandma. She fell face down and was laying on her stomach so the EMT's had to use gently pick her up and place her on the gurney. They were very gentle with her and she didn't make a sound which reassured my mom and myself that she wasn't in pain. I was able to ride in the front of the ambulance and the EMT driving was very friendly and was able to talk with me while we transported my grandma. As far as the cost goes, is any cost too much for a loved one? Her insurance cover most of it, but she still had to pay out of pocket. While the overall price for service was a little steep I understand that an ambulance company is a business that needs to generate some sort of revenue (and so should everyone else). The cost included the EMT wages (which are $9/hr), the services rendered, and the transportation to the hospital with the fire department paramedics accompanying her. My family is very lucky that the fire department and ambulance responded so quickly. I hope that we never have a need for 911 in the future, but if we do, I am glad Emergency Ambulance Service covers my city. read more

Do not use this company! Horrible customer service. My 16 year old daughter was injured and this company drove her to a hospital 10.7 miles away and charged over $2100. Unfortunately my insurance did not cover the ambulance cost. I attempted to contact management at Emergency Ambulance Services on 3 separate occasions and was denied each time. So frustrating! Then they sent my bill to collections without ever notifying me. I work in the medical industry and I would strongly recommend to avoid this company. read more

The worst EMT's ever!!! Rude, incredulous, unprofessional, mocked me, and ignorant. The company's billing is a fraud. The trip to the hospital I was in so much pain I passed out. In the hospital hallway the nurses and EMT's joking that codeine gives me migraines, they were making assumptions of me climbing down the stairs to greet them, my jaw was tight from the pain the EMT gave something to bit on. They laughed about that in hospital. Now the billing, they billed my insurance for oxygen. At no point in that ride to the hospital did I have the need for or use oxygen. This was a horrible experience on top of pain that prevented me to drive to the ER. Choose wisely who takes to the ER because you might end up small claims court. Over $5K ($5,500 to be exact) for an ambulance ride from Placentia to Fountain Valley hospital. The EMT and nurse that were in the ambulance had to do nothing but monitor my son, as he was just being transferred from one hospital to another, and Placentia required that transport to be via ambulance. Seriously, 20 miles of non-emergency transport with Emergency Ambulance Service cost over $5,000. I would never accept service from them again. read more
