I am giving Stittsville flooring a 5 star for the outstanding and fantastic job they did for us…read more They installed hardwood in the whole of our second floor including our stairs. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT recommend this company. Homeowners beware! I had a flood last year and went out…read morehired someone professional to order white oak (which is super pricey, it cost me $6k to buy enough wood to fix the damaged area in the kitchen). We then searched around and found Stittsville Flooring who quoted a reasonable cost which we thought was great... or so we thought. Well, first off, I came home to find my front door wide open while I have indoor cats, not one of them could be found so I'm panicking trying to find them, meanwhile the contractor that was there couldn't care any less nor did he apologize. Then the agreement was for them to lay down the wood, sand and seal it. He did not sand nor seal it, when I asked about sealing the wood, he just said, " oh I don't know, I'm just here to put the wood down" and then he walked away leaving me at a lost on if someone was returning to finish or not. Instead, he ruined my floors! Ruined my cabinetry and nailed in my floor right in the middle of the boards! He left unsightly and uneven gaps every, gouges and saw marks everywhere! His saw blade was so dull instead of straight cuts, he shredded all the edges on my boards! When we called back to complain, the owner lied and said to my husband that he told me the wood was no good (false, he never said anything to me, barely even said hi actually) then he proceeds to tell us it's our fault, that the wood is no good. I'm sorry but white oak is not cheap wood! I refuse to pay for this, now I have to go and spend another 6K on wood when they should be refunding me for the royal f-up they just did! How they think this is ok or acceptable for a home owner to think this is good work is beyond me. Stay away at all cost from these people, they will cost you more in the end. Shame on you guys for robbing people of their hard earned dollars for sub par customer service and shitty "craftsmanship". Update: The owner called us back the next day and said he was more upset from what the contractor did than what we were and asked us to remove the bad review as to not kill his business. We had agreed as long as he replaced the $6K worth of wood they destroyed and fixed our floors as they should be. Well, it's been 2 full weeks now and NO update, NO communication from them, NO repaired floors and NO replacement of the cost for the wood destroyed. Clearly, they don't care about customer service either.

Told by an employee, Vivian, to "Get the F... out of this store!!!"…read more Why? Simply for calmly questioning a policy they apparently have, to not do business with anyone who has discussed flooring with Home Depot first. The Story: On Wednesday, April 9th, 2014, I drove 45 minutes to Ottawa Diamond Flooring to look at hardwood and to line up an in-home consultation, for which I was prepared to pay their stated price of $75.00. When I happened to mention to Vivian that I'd been to Home Depot three months previously, that they'd told me that Ottawa Diamond Flooring had the contract to do their installations, and that because of that I figured they must do good work, Vivian abruptly and very brusquely interrupted and informed me that they "couldn't do business with me". Genuinely perplexed, I asked why not. Responding with a very crisp and condescending tone, she informed me that it was a "conflict of interest", that because I'd already spoken to Home Depot, they simply would not work with me. There was no, "Oh, I'm sorry, but...", or "Gee, sorry for the inconvenience...", just an abrupt and rude, "We can't do business with you." And then, because I was incredulous and asked two or three more times how it could be that because I'd simply spoken to Home Depot three months prior, without signing or purchasing anything, I was now unable to do business with them, genuinely trying to understand the policy, I was summarily told, "I don't have to deal with this! Get the F... out of this store!!!", with Vivian turning her back on me and walking away. Trying to give Vivian the benefit of the doubt, truly believing the woman must be under some kind of serious personal stress, I told her I didn't know what I possibly could have said to deserve that kind of treatment, and Vivian again stormed away, continuing to swear, telling me to "get the F... out", that she "doesn't need this!". She went into an office, picked up the phone, and two other female employees came out from the back. One of them asked if there was a problem and I responded that yes, indeed, there was now a very big problem, given the way I'd just been treated and the language used. She simply reiterated the policy and, I might add, did so in an abrupt and defensive, rather than apologetic tone. The other employee stood there silent, but she later did provide me with the contact information for the owner without adding fuel to the fire, as the second employee had by seemingly choosing to excuse Vivian's behaviour. I was standing there with my 81 year old mother and most certainly hadn't used any kind of foul language or rude tone with Vivian, nothing I said or did could possibly explain or justify Vivian's response to my genuine questions regarding the policy. To say my poor, elderly mother was completely shocked is an understatement. She's undergoing cancer treatments and on this, one of her few relatively good days, I'd asked her if she'd like to come shopping with me. This experience ruined her day and left her completely rattled, so much so that she was trembling when we got into our vehicle. Honestly, I'm still shocked and appalled as I write this a few hours later. In all of my 54 years, I've never had anyone speak to me like that, let alone an employee of any business. I subsequently stopped by Kanata Home Depot on my way home and spoke to the manager, telling him what happened, and also told him that because Ottawa Diamond Flooring has their installation contract, there was no way I would purchase flooring from them as I wouldn't want any of our hard-earned money to go to Ottawa Diamond Flooring, given the treatment I'd just received. In the meantime, I also stopped at Westboro Flooring, which is just a couple of minutes away from Ottawa Diamond Flooring - also just off Colonnade Rd. - and had a wonderfully pleasant consultation with the staff there. They'll be sending their consultant out to my home within the next few days, even waiving the in-home consultation fee after I told them how abhorrently I'd just been treated at their competitor's, and I plan to give our business to people who respect others and don't treat them the way Vivian treated me and my elderly mother. Ottawa Diamond Flooring may carry excellent product and the owner may be a decent fellow, but his employee was more than completely out of line and has cost him our business.

Stop sucking lemons and if you're going to trash a business, visit it and see the store and speak to the people in person, don't just get in a huff cause you are an idiot. I've been to the store, and the two ladies are a laugh, and they do NOT NOT NOT try to sell you the most expensive...you tell them your wants and budget and they will work hard to find something for you....prices are competitive too. My only gripe is that the hours are not upheld and it's often closed making it very difficult to visit especially when working during the day. I'd rather they close on Mondays and offer a longer day on Thurs/Fri to get more customers. I did not buy however i am impressed with their service, personalization to me, and dedication to try to find what i wanted when i wasn't even sure. I will recommend them and tell everyone i know to avoid this Francesca chick that doesn't know how to write a proper review

Before I could even finish what I was saying, the elderly gentleman (owner)? who answered the phone, abruptly cut me off, was extremely rude and barked ' I'm not interested!' and proceeded to slam the phone down on me. I can understand his presumption of a sales pitch, but that was not why I was calling & to cut someone off when they are speaking and hang up the phone is not only incredibly rude, but extremely unprofessional. If this man wishes to attract more business to the company, this is surely not the way to do it. Not only did he turn me away, now I will also tell all my friends, colleagues & family to stay away. I know a friend who is looking to replace all the wet areas in his 5,000 square foot home, so he also lost a very good potential customer! Note to business owners: Be courteous to anyone whom you are in contact with for your business. You never know who they are & how much business they can refer ( or turn away).
