My parents have been seeing Dr. Paswater for over 20 years and, until now, have always received great care. Sadly, both of them are now in their 80s and in poor health--my stepdad is battling stage 4 cancer and Parkinson's, which the office is fully aware of. This past weekend, my stepdad fell seriously ill. He had a cleaning scheduled for Monday, so we called the office first thing to explain. Instead of compassion, we were told we'd be charged a $60 no-show fee. We explained that we could bring him in, but he was coughing badly, and we didn't want to risk exposing other patients. The office coordinator still insisted on charging the fee. When we asked how we could possibly cancel "24 hours in advance" when they're closed Friday through Sunday, there was no answer--just a firm stance that the fee applied. So, rather than let him rest and reschedule, we had no choice but to drag him in--just so the office could collect their $75 cleaning fee. It's deeply disappointing to see a practice we trusted for decades put policy and profit above compassion and common sense. After so many years of loyalty, this was a painful reminder that for some offices, the bottom line matters more than people. read more

BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO!!!!!!! From the moment you walk in the door of Emeral Dental you feel welcomed with a beautiful, relaxing and clean customer area. Not only is the customer area welcoming but the entire establishment is clean and friendly. You are then welcomed by the staff at the front desk. Amazingly, you feel as if you've known them your entire life, that's how super friendly they are. Everyone from Kayla and Leigh and of course Dr. Stephanie Paswaters are professional in every aspect and pleasurable to be around. Although, not everyone (in fact I don't know anyone) likes going to the dentist but Dr. Paswaters is nothing but "AWESOME", and professional. Every single step that she does is explained in detail to familiarize you with the procedure being done. As an added bonus, whenever you walk back to the procedure room you are greeted by all the friendly smiles of the employees. Boy does that make you feel good, and calms those "dental" nerves. In addition, DO NOT go here in a bad mood, because {I warn you}, that mood will be turned around to a happy one. If you are looking for a great Dentist this IS the place, and Dr. Paswaters IS the person that you will definitely want to see. I guarantee that you will leave there one happy client. If you are avoiding exposure to toxic, heavy metals such as aluminum or mercury, be sure to let these people know or you may leave here with some ghetto-looking dental work and direct exposure through the mucosal membranes. My temporary, aluminum crown gave me a green tongue along with the risk of toxic, aluminum poisoning which has been proven to be a catalyst in developing Alzheimer's! There is a reason informed people avoid exposure to toxic heavy metals like aluminum in their anti-perspirant, cooking pans, soda cans and the mercury in amalgam fillings by having ALL of them removed, replacing them with composites. Don't take my word for it. Do your own research! p.s. beware of her doing a root canal & placing a crown on a broken, abscessed molar. Always get a second opinion if possible and never sign anything under the influence of opiod pain medicine. Ask for your contract agreements to review before your appointment. read more

This is a great place. I am not a huge fan of going to the dentist but today's visit was quick, pain free and resolved some long needed tooth care. In addition, this has been the only place we could find to treat my special needs daughter. She actually enjoys going and looks forward to her next visit. This is a great practice. I feel I get good care with people who want me to feel better.

Do not go to this dentist. She is incompetent and only in it to make money. Went to this dentist in 2019 at the recommendation of a family member. My experience was terrible. They claimed I had four cavities and I ended up getting four fillings. The anesthesia shots were very painful, and for the final filling, ineffective. Dr. Paswaters did not believe me and told me that's just how it feels. That filling did not heal correctly. When I went back in to address this, Dr. Paswaters claimed my nerve had died, an abscess had formed, and I needed a root canal. They quoted me $650 for the root canal, about 1/2 what they cost on average. I went to another office for a second opinion, and I'm so glad I did! They sent me to a specialist who told me there was no indication of an abscess and my nerve was definitely not dead. All I needed was more time to heal. I believe Dr. Paswaters was just trying to make more money. read more

This was just a teeth cleaning and checkup but I must say that the hygienist was thorough yet gentle. I have never had better, and I am 69 years old. I enjoy watching any discipline when the practitioner is excellent, so it was actually pleasurable to both witness and experience a cleaning so professionally done. read more

I have had annual exams, x-rays, cleaning, whitening, cavity fillings and porcelain veneers and have been completely satisfied with their outstanding work at reasonable prices. Started going here 2-3 years ago after my previous dentist for 25 years went corporate and no one knew my name but wanted to charge me for things w/o explanation. Best move ever! The ladies that run this show are awesome. Super friendly, and efficient. Free parking. The insurance and billing are a breeze and they have a membership plan that REALLY saves $$$. read more

While I did have a great cleaning, it went down hill from there. I felt the dentist could have used some slowing down overall with getting fillings. It felt so rushed. My gums were not numb when she gave the novocaine and it was quite painful ( I have had this numerous times previously) but none this painful. They shoved a bite block in my mouth without asking or explaining anything. Months later... I am still in so much pain from the cavities they insisted I have redone. They were not hurting before but now I am looking at 2 crowns and 2 root canals to repair the damage done. The teeth were never filed down correctly and were so sharp it cut my tongue. I saw hundreds of positive reviews which made me choose this location but I am sorry I did. read more

Sadly I must retract some of my review about this place. The work they did was good the staff was great. However I chose this place based on them having the best price by far. Then after my services and financing, months later they charge me more saying my insurance didn't cover it. They they charged interest on top of that. So after everything is said and done I ended up paying more than I would have anywhere else. During this pandemic this is not the time to be blindsided by unexpected charges. Tried to reach out to the owner who I've delt with directly and only response was from receptionist. Very disappointed on the bait and switch that happened to me. read more

I have had numerous cleanings at emerald dentist and they were done well with much attention to my comfort level. Yesterday, I had a different hygienist and she was abrupt and quite controlling in her demeanor. She was very rough with her technique. I've never had such a painful cleaning. I had to take 800 mg ibuprophen after. I called the dentist and she was very professional and listened attentively to my concerns. While eating an enchilada last night, party of the tooth chipped off. Will be returning. The dentist assured me she would talk to the office manager and the hygentist. read more

My yearly exam was done by a dental hygienist(!!) who completely missed a tooth that was infected. As a result, I lost the tooth and a $1000 fixing her "whoops" moment. When asked if she would work with me on fixing the tooth she offered $50 off. Thanks for nothing. Denver West Dental is by far the better place!! read more

My review is similar to Jon Karl K's. Dr. Passwaters suggested that I have my fillings replaced, and like the idiot that I am, I agreed. Afterwards, I noticed a pain, so they removed the new fillings and put in temporary feelings. Between the replacement fillings, the temporary fillings and the 2nd set of permanent fillings, the pain went from bad to worse. All the while paying for every treatment based on her mistake. Anyways, she offered to perform a root canel, at a cost of course, but by that point I felt like she's done enough. So now, eating/drinking on my left side is not an option, I have to bare through cold weather, I can only rinse with luke warm water, I've developed an ear ache, I'm having trouble sleeping, and the days of mouthwash are long gone until I can correct what's been done. I often tounge the patch job she did because it feels pretty unpleasant. My advice, if a dentist suggests replacing fillings, but they never caused any pain, tell em "No Way!" I'd give this place zero stars if I could. read more

Avoid at all cost unless you like pain and want your work to be redone by another dentist. Performs unnecessary procedures just to rack up the insurance bill. Changed out a filling only to get a root canal the next month. Have had problems with that tooth ever since. All my kids fillings have fallen out. Most fillings on baby teeth fell out one to two weeks later. Why make them go through all that? What a nightmare. Nothing but pure incompetence from her. read more

BEWARE: Emerald dental needs to be investigated and closed. Went to Emerald Dental in 2008/2009. I always had them quote work needed and always paid in full day of service. Had several issues with work done and had these issues corrected at new dentist. In 2012, 3.5 years after my last appointment, I received a call from new receptionist saying she was put in charge of reviewing all accounts and that I was undercharged $32 back in 2009. My account had been zeroed out for 3.5 years and I paid quoted price and now they want to bill again for bad dental work that all had to be repaired/redone. I'm guessing they wouldn't have reached out with a refund if they determined I overpaid 3.5 years earlier. I obviously didn't pay this out of principle and they are still pushing it at collections which I don't mind. The least I can do is warn others, don't be the next victim of emerald dental and SAVE all receipts if you are one of the few with good experience. read more

Do not go to Dr. Stephanie Paswater. I had a horrible nightmare where this dentist failed to get "approval" from my dental insurance. In fact, her office told me I was approved and ready for the procedure. Then they came back to me weeks later and said "Oops. We didn't get approval." When I called my dental insurance the billing customer service representative said, "Dr Stephanie Paswater messed up. They did not even get our approval to do this procedure and you should not have to pay." I followed up with a friendly letter explaining the facts and Dr. Stephanie Paswater wrote a terribly aggressive letter back explaining they would not do anything. Her dental office billing representative admitted they had made a mistake -- one they refused to own or share in. read more
