However, when I returned on 3/22/26, my experience was very disappointing. I was just rushed into a room without confirming what type of massage I wanted or duration. Also the masseuse did not ask or confirm whether I had any injuries before starting, which felt unprofessional. The entire appointment felt rushed, and the pressure was very inconsistent. Although we agreed on medium-firm pressure, about half of the session felt extremely light more like I was being rubbed than actually massaged. Overall, the massage felt lackluster, as if she was just trying to get through it quickly. She also applied pressure directly on my bones at times, which was uncomfortable and painful. The most disappointing part was the foot massage. I've had better at nail salons. It felt like 15 minutes of poking and squeezing with little to no real pressure or technique, much of it done under the sheets without much effort. Unfortunately, I didn't feel any relief afterward, which was frustrating. To make matters worse, I received a dirty look when I paid because I did not leave the recommended 20% tip, which felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. I had a good experience this time but after today I will not be returning.

I saw a huge transformation with my body after seeing her after my mastectomy with DIEP Flap. She made me feel comfortable every step of the way. It was convenient to have her come to my home for treatments as well. After every session I saw a huge difference in reduction of swelling and scar tissue that I had. She helped wrap my legs after liposuction with the revisions and also took extra time to make to special compression with foam chips for my abdominal incision. I am lucky to have found Melanie via Google/Yelp and she was located near me. This place is truly a hidden gem. I had no issues with finding the building and parking in the back lot. It was my first time getting a prenatal massage and Melanie did such a wonderful job targeting all the areas I pointed out and more. Melanie has great energy and a soothing voice. She showed me options of either laying on my side and back or using the pregnant cushion that has holes for the belly and boobs which I decided to use. It was comfortable and safe to use. When she started she used a massage oil that had a lovely mix of essential oils and a sage spray around me. The aroma combined with the calming ambiance in the room; the low lighting, zen music and sound bowl at the end made me feel absolutely relaxed and rejuvenated. Melanie used a good amount of pressure and always checked in on me if I needed any adjustments. The space she rents out of is very clean, cozy and has a cute, vintage interior design since a lot of the decor and furniture is thrifted by the owner. Other ladies also rent out different rooms for their services: hair salon, massage therapy, skincare/sugaring hair removal and acupuncture. I was in need of one and have been looking for a spot near my work. I booked The Now online for a 50 min massage with an added $20 deep tissue option. Booking was easy and I did like that you can pay in advance online. You can select if you prefer a male or female masseuse and which type of massage you want and the duration. Upon arriving I was given some cucumber water while waiting. My masseuse met with me before to talk about where to focus and preference. I told him I wanted it hard and to focus only on upper back, neck and shoulders. My massage started off pretty soft and I had to ask him twice to go harder. He also didn't really get in there and it definitely was not deep tissue. It was relaxing but my home massager probably does a better job honestly. I've also had much better massages for half the price elsewhere. The massage "rooms" are divided up by fabric. They're still pretty private but you need to stay quiet with your masseuse. The staff is really nice and my masseuse was nice as well. I just wish he hit the spots I needed. After the massage I was given more water and checking out was easy since I had already paid. I just tipped. Parking can be found in the lot. It's 2 hours complementary. The Now is located on the first floor in 2nd & PCH and is directly across from Boba Guys.
