They've been adding tons of new classes to the schedule since the owner Shanaine took over (Summer 2024). She has put a lot of work & heart into the studio & fosters a warm, welcoming, & inclusive community that is amazing for beginners, experienced dancers, or visitors (as a beach & military town, we get lots of visitors & we love it!). Highly recommend. My personal fitness philosophy is to find a physical activity that is intrinsically fun & it will never feel like work or a chore. We are so lucky to have a pole studio here in Panama City. I always have a blast at Steel Roots, it truly is my play time, & I have been able to get incredibly fit in the meantime. I lost 20 lbs last year when I was able to consistently show up for pole. It's such a good workout, & so much fun, you don't even realize how good of a workout you are getting!

So, instead of going to somewhere like Embry RIddle which would have taken a few years, I went to Sowell in order to get all of my flight certifications in a shorter period of time. As it turns out, I did not become a commercial pilot but as life experiences go, it was one of the best. The school is small enough that you don't get lost in the bureaucracy, but large enough to have some of the best instructors in the state. At the time, they were one of the few flight schools that could correct written exams on the premises which saves time and money. If you are thinking of making flying a career or a pass time, check this school out.
