I had posted a request for just this on a Destin Life Facebook page a few weeks back, before our trip to Destin. A photographer had reached out to me. His prices were reasonable and the beach photos I saw on his website were decent. What our reality was is VERY different. He was late to respond, loads of misspellings in his correspondence (tells me he's not taking his time when replying to me). His website says he donates 20% to a charity of your choice (he didn't do this and never even asked us who we would want), took photos on Wednesday and said we would have a sneak peek on Thursday or Friday and the rest of our photos on Friday or Saturday (his words). On Sunday night I texted him asking for at least the sneak peeks. He said we his assistant had sent them (didn't happen-I triple checked) and we would have them the next day. That didn't happen. My husband thought we had been taken for $150 (it was $120 but I tipped him $30) at this point. He finally sends them and we basically received a handful of photos and he used a really blurry/faded filter, a purple-ish filter and a blue filter on every photo. So one image was sent three times. The only solo photos of my son on the beach showed the photographers arm shadow on my sons body in every shot. I posted a few on my Facebook page and had a bunch of family/friends reach out asking why they were so bad. An actual family member who is a true photographer said she would try to fix his images but having the originals or "raw" photos would be easier. I reached out to him and he said he would send them the next day (I have all of these texts) and it never happened. I waited a few days in case he was sick or maybe an emergency had happened but ... no response even after I had made several more attempts. Please do not risk having your family beach photos ruined. His name is Troy Ritchie and he owns LN Beach Photography. I'm heartbroken that these photos were so bad and his lack of service made it so much worse

Sonja did both our daughters Senior portrait session and a family session. Let me start off by…read moresaying, she sat down and spoke with Abbie about what she wanted out of her session, her visions and thoughts for the shoot. This was perfect and matched Abbie's artistic nature and personality. She helped us choose the right outfits, talked locations- what would work and what wouldn't, and narrowed down to help us not be so all over the board. We live along 30A, and wanted to incorporate not only the Emerald Coast, but the beauty of Watercolor and the funkiness of Baytown Wharf. The day of the shoot came and it was perfect. She was on time and ready to go. She calmed our nervous girl, Abbie, right down with her down to earth personality and beautiful smile --- and the pictures were simply stunning. She checked every single box we had and then some. She has an amazing eye, and sees the world in a different light, noticing a tree here, or a bird here, and pointing out why this area works better than the one we had originally thought. Abbie's pictures turned out amazing, her eye for editing are equally as good as her eye for the perfect shot. She was not afraid to lay in the sand, climb a tree, freeze or get dirty to get the shot. She is an artist in every sense of the word. Sonja did the same quality of work on our family shoot, our son is a Marine and he was home for a short liberty over Thanksgiving. She took time over a weekend that typically is all about family and allowed us to steal time to get the shots done. She captured our every emotion and feeling, and showcased our personalities in the pictures as well as stunning backdrops and just the right light. I cannot say enough about her as a person, friend and photographer. Sonja goes the extra mile, spends hours editing to make sure your pictures are perfect and is simply amazing. I am also a local realtor and work with vacation rentals in South Walton, I am using her for all my real estate needs but also recommending her to all our owners and guests so that they can come down and have a QUALITY photo shoot for their family, weddings, babies -- whatever their needs are. P.s. Her wedding shoots are outstanding, she captures the very essence of people and is able to translate that onto an image. Her eye for the scene is something I had only heard about.
