Finally, we had a Zinfandel Port which was really impressive. The tasting room itself is not much to mention. Its functional and offers the usual books and spouts and aprons you might find in another tasting room. The bathrooms look like they were lifted from a Getty station. For most of his reds, he is unique in fermenting the wine in used bourbon barrels. Wines we tried from these barrels were smoother, rounder, and with a bit more honey than similar wines from oak wine barrels. He also makes some nice whites and traditional reds.
