I have not personally had the pleasure of doing business with The Sewing Box, so why am I giving…read morethis location five stars? I recently learned that this shop has been servicing the Blue Angels' uniforms for the past **43 years**. I also learned that the Sewing Box not only provided uniforms for the pilots, but also the entire flight crew! Unfortunately, for reasons I don't fully understand, that contract did not continue this year. As a citizen of the United States, I have always been impressed by the quality and appearance of the Blue Angels' uniforms. After looking into the history of the contract, I was surprised to learn that The Sewing Box provided that level of quality at a significantly lower cost than the bid associated with the new contract. To me, that says something worth recognizing: **high-quality craftsmanship, decades of experience, and exceptional value.** For that reason, I'd like to do what little I can to support this local business. I hope that someday I'll have the opportunity to bring something in and experience their craftsmanship firsthand. The article below begins by identifying The Sewing Box as a Black woman-owned business. While I certainly think that is worth recognizing, what impresses me most is the **quality of the work, the longevity of the service, and the value they provided. Period.** Source: MSN -- "Navy nixed 43-year contract with Black woman-owned tailor" https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/general/navy-nixed-43-year-contract-with-black-woman-owned-tailor/ar-AA2aEtLi

This small business HARASSED and BULLIED my family when one of my groomsmen was unable to find the…read moretux jacket that he rented. Not only did they repeatedly call myself, my husband, and my groomsman for the jacket for weeks, they proceeded to threaten us with police action. The amount owed was merely $150. I had a sheriff calling my phone threatening my groomsman with an arrest warrant as a scare tactic. As a rental service, losses are inherent in their business. The fact that they went to such extreme measures from one jacket was absolutely ridiculous. I was taught not to lend money if I can't afford not to get it back. Perhaps they shouldn't be in the rental business if $150 was going to put them under such strain.
