I had no idea what this was, but now I know. This 16 foot tall disc and the surrounding benches are made of tiles and ceramics. Conceived by public artist Leslie Scott who unfortunately died before it was complete has been here at the corner of Monroe Road and Conference Drive since it was unveiled in 2017. I read that the artist did not name it "Embrace" but the sponsors (the Monroe Road Advocates, moraclt.org) did.
It is an interactive landmark as a full quarter of the sculpture is a mirror that is similar in spirit of Chicago's reflective "Bean" sculpture.
The area is a small music venue, park and of course, the sculpture. It's worth stopping by to check out.
