This was a lovely tour of Sydney Harbour via boat, and the only one with a live narrative of what…read morewe were seeing as we passed by. The folksy speaker not only told us what we were seeing, he also suggested other places to go, including restaurants, and told a few interesting stories such as the one about the most expensive home ever sold in Sydney. We had beautiful weather and there were low cost beverages and free biscuits, aka cookies. We were given plenty of time to make our own iconic photos of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Loved it!

Not going to put too much effort on this review, as it might get taken down…read more Yelp - Please transfer my 500 pictures to the correct Princess Cruise rather than deleting them please! Quality/Quantity - Princess cruise, in my opinion, is a medium priced carrier. We have been lucky with some good values this year. We have logged a hundred days at sea just this year with just this brand. But you would already know that if you are following. Food is good, you can have even better food if you are willing to pay extra. Ports are good, for the most part. See all reviews for the best ports and the just okay ports. Entertainment is just okay; we feel their competitors do a better job. Even some of their parent and "sister" companies do a better job. Activities have been good with the exception of one ship. But it is not the ship, it is the culture of the "captain" probably cutting costs? This one ship gave out point tickets rather than actual prizes. We participate in most everything, otherwise you can get very bored. And the more sea days you have, the longer the cruise can feel. But you know you are getting older when you actually start enjoying sea days, LOL. Atmosphere - Depends where you travel to, see all my previous Yelps. We take exceptionally long cruises, so typically very few kids are on board. Service - Our experience is that longer cruises have better service and smaller ships have better service. Due to our status, we are invited to the Captain's Happy Hour (discounted drinks if you do not have the package) daily. And also, to the Captain's party (free drinks). Price - Again, a medium priced brand. It also depends on where you go, if you have been before ($$ shore excursions), etc. And most importantly, how much you drink and if you have the drink package or NOT. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1965 and being the second largest cruise line (by revenue). 15 ships. 1974 - Princess was a subsidiary of P&O (Carnival currently owns them also). 1980's - Gained popularity because of the show "Love Boat," if you know the show, you are of the same generation as me, LOL. 2003 - Parent company is now Carnival.

ONE WORD: SKULLS. I…read morefelt like I had stepped into heaven when I entered Holy Kitsch! (Mainly because I'm obsessed with skulls!) Skull heads, skull glasses, skull bags, sugar skulls, skull art, skull figurines...... plus Frida Kahlo everything! This shop is amazing! Okay, yes, it is very expensive, but where else would you find quality Mexican skulls and Day of the Dead gifts??? (Definitely nothing like this in Auckland). Only bought two skull shot glasses, but next time I'm in Sydney, I will definitely spend a bit extra and get a massive skull! Not sure how it's going to fit in my suitcase though :S

Holy Kitsch! Great name, Great Store…read more Brimming with quirky, kitschy, one-off pieces that are bound to delight lovers of fun, funky homewares. I'm a HUGE fan of this store. Their window displays are colourful and fun and all the pieces are just damn cool. Here's a summary of what you can expect to find at Holy Kitsch: "Sugar Skulls and candelabras inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead "Dia de los Muertos", hand painted mirrors evoking the life of Frida Kahlo, Sailor Jerry bamboo curtains, really cool antique and vintage wares, ephemera, curios and a whole lot more." Beneath the fun Holy Kitsch is a serious store with a conscience and a mission. All of the products are Fair Trade and ethically sourced, where possible, as part of the owners mission to present an alternative to mass production. Given all things Latin American and Mexican are completely in fashion I imagine this store is going gangbusters. See for yourself.

I guess after a little stint in Belgium I have suddenly developed an expectation for comic books…read morethat many places here in Australia simply cannot placate. Basically, you really only have two options here, DC or Marvel, though there might be a shelf that has a smattering of independent comics, or another shelf that might have some Dark Horse ones as well, but that is basically it. This is one of those comic shops, which means that the selection really isn't all that great, unless of course you are into the affore mentioned comics. Still, the service wasn't all that bad, so I'll give it that.

I fully expected to saunter into the comic book store and relive a scene from The Big Bang Theory,…read morewhere all the geeks are so astounded at the presence of a female in the store that they stop and stare in awe and ill-concealed lust... *sigh* Not the case. Another example of Hollywood messing with my expectations. The store was empty except for the attendant, who was actually quite friendly, and not at all disarmed by my inherent female-ness. Strike one, Comic Shop. How dare you not be in awe of my femininity? In all seriousness, it's a cute little store, that I would love and frequent often were I the slightest bit interested in comic books. Even I, a comic book novice, can tell that the shelves are stacked with all manner of comic books, from Spiderman to ... I don't know, Batman? My knowledge of comics is limited, forgive. The attendant seemed very accommodating and helpful, and suggested a bunch of things that I could read for my foray into the comic book world. I entered the store primarily because it looked FUN. The sign is all in bright colours, and the entrance is a spooky, mysterious looking alleyway.. how could I not poke my head in?
